Hi, Welcome to our brotherhood , i am telling basic tips for running -in of your xtreme 1. Start the bike with choke on during first start in morning , If your bike has kick starter use it as well 2. Drive at variable speeds , maximum rpm till 500km should be 5K 3. You may also change engine oil with HH 10W30 at 100,250,350kms respectively 4. Dont lug your engine i.e maintain (2.5K-5K) rpm while driving in any gear 5. Try driving in empty roads at night , It helps in getting acquainted with handling of bike You may visit pages of this thread and get more info on various topics. Congrats on your latest acquisition!Originally posted by xtremecbz View PostWell i booked the new CBZ Xtreme and had a successful delivery :-)
Can you please tell me how to maintain the motorcycle as it is my first motorcycle in 150cc segment :-)
Follow everything that RohIIT said and the following points as well:
1) No sudden changes in speed. ie. Acceleration and deceleration must not be sudden.
2) Vary the RPM: Keep varying the RPMs during the run in. Don't stick to one RPM if the stretch is a long one.
3) Follow the service schedule as it is and I doubt you should have any issues at all.
If you're really particular about the warranty, please stick to an Authorized Service Center for all your services. If not, you risk voiding the warranty.
If you've any query at all, feel free to post it here. All of us are happy to help

My throttle was jamming like it has rusted all inside - i had to apply some force to twist the throttle - so opened the hub and greased it -also put few drops of leftover veedol swift engine oil - now the throttle has become free - guys is this how they lube the accelerator cable in SC ?Last edited by sarbanoxley; 03-16-2013, 10:20 AM.

As a rule of thumb it would be best to replace cable every year, for best performanceOriginally posted by sarbanoxley View PostMy throttle was jamming like it has rusted all inside - i had to apply some force to twist the throttle - so opened the hub and greased it -also put few drops of leftover veedol swift engine oil - now the throttle has become free - guys is this how they lube the accelerator cable in SC ?Motorcycling Experience:

Acceleration will drop a bit and top speed will increase. IIRC, in 5th gear, you'll be doing 7kmph more than with the stock sprocket.Originally posted by Imran Syed View PostHey guys,
My HUNK is doing good ,it is 8k on ODO now and using shell oil 10w40 SS and thinking of changing front sprocket to unicorn's 15 tooth sprocket.
what will happen to the speed and acceleration ? is it good to do? compatibility with the chain & bike??? quick reply need buys
Thanks
Good to do, I guess that depends on what you intend on using the bike for. My guess is, it'll help get a few more kmpl. But that's what I think, not sure.
Compatibility, it definitely compatible. But since it's a larger front sprocket, I guess the chain needs to have expanded a bit before you can use it. Which, after 8k km, I'm sure it would've.
Nonetheless, wait for someone who has used the 15T on their bike to reply. It'll be more clear.
One question though, do we get only the front sprocket separately or must the entire kit be bought?Hero Honda Hunk 2011, RC'ed, DC'ed, MC'ed! :P

well, its 2.7k on odo & 2 services. She still gives mileage of 40-43 kmpl & I am little unsatisfied with it. I ride mostly in city, where she hardly hits 5th gear. So its expected.
My question is, If I change my rear tyre from stock ZAPPER to Micheline SIRAC will it decrease mileage? I dont expect increase, but it shouldnt decrease too. and as per my knowledge, SIRAC is not tubeless. Will it be problem to use it with stock rims?
Im changing tyre because my brother have 4 year old unicorn (75K on odo) and its rear tyre needs to be replaced. Im thinking of giving him ZAPPER and buy SIRAC for me.Last edited by rahul.zamre; 03-16-2013, 03:22 PM.

^^ Rahul.zamre and all others who have purchased their 150 "gems" - please stop worrying about your mileage figures and bikes unnecessarily. Please understand that just 2k on the ODO means nothing. And regarding the mileage, it is more or less perfect; expected. My hunk is just over an year young now, and believe it or not, from the day I bought it, till date - it gives me a constant mileage between 40 - 44kmpl. Never have got a higher mileage. I do not rip, am a very disciplined rider and take care of my motorcycle like it was a part of me! Really. And that does not mean even for once, unnecessarily fiddling with the engine/carb/tuning,etc.
@All: This thread (and splendor's) are the best ownership threads on the forum. Just sit back, read and learn. Some of our respected contributors have posted awesome in-depth DIYs/workarounds for our bikes. Utilize them, devour them to your advantage. But like I said before: 2k is not something to worry about even for once. Give it some time!
Regarding tyres - Michelin is a fantastic brand. The Zapper which is factory fitted is absolutely trash. Just OK and only recommended for city riding; if nothing available. It skids like anything, apart from being a hard compound tyre. Nevertheless, it doesn't come cheap either! Depending on your riding environment, you can choose.
Using Tubed Tyres for Your Tubeless Rims
Yes, you can: provided you do not race on highways often. Switching to tubed tyres IMO, does away with the advantage of using tubeless variants. Their puncture-'withstanding' ability being the most important of all. Having said that, if you find better shoes for your ride, go ahead and buy them; doesn't matter if they are tubed/tubeless.
P.S. Michelins are now being 'Made-in-India' with TVS as partners! Earlier, Michelins were sourced from Thailand. Stocks not available now. Even if you find one (Thailand import) steer clear. There is no point in buying an 'old' tyre just for the sake of buying an imported variant of the brand. Remember, it is vulcanized-rubber after all. It's life is not infinite!

Hi,
I am planning to fill Motul for my Hunk in my upcoming oil-change schedule and am confused between 3000 4T Plus 10w30 and 5100 4T 10w30. As far as I could tell from what was posted on their site, the 5100 seems synthetic? I would go in for a mineral oil only. Considering that, along with Shell 10w40 (scorching summers on the horizon). Is Shell in that rating available in mineral?
Thanks

Agreed you are gentle with her.. (no pun intendedOriginally posted by BloggingWheels View PostAnd regarding the mileage, it is more or less perfect; expected. ) but you can try accelerating little slower. (Saying because I heave ridden with you) you may get a bump of 1~2kmpl after a day's ride.
