Check also the condition of your air filter.Paper filters are notorious for getting clogged ,fine particles will go inside and block the air holes still outside it may not be seen and blowing air can not remove these fine particles but they go deeper and get embedded.,so try changing and it is not very costly.

Tic .tic sound may be because of less lube oil spread to all places. Change lube oil and see.(spurious and duplicate oil is every where these days.)
u mean engine oil? i changed it at 5500km and now it clocked 7200km. i used gulfpride. am i need to change it now?

        Try Yamalube 20W40 Mineral.

And BTW the tick tick could also be from an un-lubricated chain.

And if you tell them about your mileage they might have adjusted it to factory settings (Auto companies prefer rich Air-Fuel mixture for first few thousands kms ).
Yesterday I adjusted clutch play and change oil to veedol super swift 10w40.I noticed that my bike deliverd mileage of 57 KMPL again.

During my second service I asked SC to change oil.But I am sure they charge me for oil.but oil was not changed.because I chaanged oil at 2500 odo and again changed it at 3200 odo reading. After 700 kms only. The oil was very dirty and very thin.

BUt make sure u buy geniuine one because market is full of fake mobils.
I recently bought my Hunk, it is a used bike which has done 21k, so never went to HH SVC for servicing. I got the oil changed(not top up) few days after I bought the bike at Castrol bike Zone. They changed(not top-up) the oil infront of me.(Infact I only bought the oil from HH SVC). Can' say it is like water and all, I just wanted to say the gear shift is bit harder when compared to 1 week of oil change, when it was BUTTER SMOOTH.

                • Engine getting heated and low mileage.

                  Hey fellow riders,

My CBZ xtreme has run 1300 km but still the engine gets heated preety soon and smells of the engine burn and on top of that i am getting a mileage of 35 kmpl inside city. I enquired with the service station, they said all the problems with be fine after second servicing as it is still a preety new bike.

Is he is telling the truth?? Help me with your suggestions.

                  Thanks.

                  Stay safe. Ride safe.

Next time use 20W40 instead of 10W30 as its not a new bike. 20W40 should give u better experience.

Yes they are true. it will take some time. Smell is normal in starting few 100 kms. Do change ur oil in regular intervals. 250,500,1000,2000 Kms.

                    Thanks.

                    Stay safe. Ride safe.
Dont stress your bike.keep varying the RPM upto 5K max. Take it to 6K occasionally that for a short period of time.

Thanks for the suggestion Saurabh, Was thinking of the same, as I heard good reviews about this grade oil in our forum.
But I read like there could be drop in mileage, even now I am getting only 35kmpl, don't prefer a drop further

                        whats your experience with disc.....
As per me, this bike has under sized brakes. I mean, to bring 150kg kerb to a hault, there should be better stopping power.
My bikes brake lost its bite around 5K. Then, I changed the pads at 7K. Still it didnt improve. So last week, I gave it to a local mech (who stole 100 bucks worth of petrol ) and bled the brakes. Now it has improved. Almost like new.

                        Guys.. latest update..

Last week, I gave the bike to a local mech and did these
                        1. Plug cleaned
                        2. Engine tuned up.
                        3. Brakes bled and fluid topped up.

                        Results
                        1. Nice throttle response and pick up.
                        2. brakes are really good.
                        3. Mech stole nearly 1.5L of petrol
                        4. Mileage - 35kmpl.. (highway and city mixed)

Other than this, tappets are real loose. But the prob is, the sound is heard only when engine is really heated up. So whenever I go to a mech, he says 'valves are all fine'. So couldnt set them..

Actually they are using it for cleaning the byke.
they unplug a hose near the on/off/reserve valve and drain the petrol through it.

When i complained abt breaking he cleaned the disk with my petrol.

                            Petrol to clean disks..?
AFAIK, petrol when coming into contact with disk pads will deteriorate the pad material..

If you give them chance they will clean your entire bike with petrol that too from your tank
