  • Frnds, i own a cbz xtreme 2009 model.. Recently i had changd itz air filter.. Nw while riding when i hold the clutch the rpm decrease vry fastly.. Bt aftr shifting to higher gear it takes some time for the rpm to increase and that too very slowly... Is that bcoz of lean mixture or somethng else..?? How to mak the mixture rich.. Waiting for u guys to help me..

      Quick movement of the RPM needle means the bike's lean, another clue to make sure is that the RPM needle will slightly keep on varying.

      Sluggish movement of the RPM needle means the bike's rich, another clue to make sure is that the RPM needle will always go lower than the pre defined idle RPM(HOT) when bikes kept to idle for a few secs.

      To change AFR settings check the AFR screw on the gear shifter side of the CARB.

        What brand do u people recommend for me??
        There are FS from Shell and Motul for the grade 10w40.

        Which one does the best job??

          You changed filter with stock filter or any Free Flow Filters like K&N,green etc??

            thanks 4d info.. Bt hw to identify dat screw..?? Is dat goldn color screw.. Also in which directn do i need to rotate it to make it rich..

              wit stock filter.. They told me dat k&n will cost around 2300 including fitting charg.. Stock filtr cost only 120.. Huge diferenc..

                Yeah the golden screw. Turn it clockwise to make it lean and anti clockwise to make it rick, dont go more than 6 turns on the rich side, the screw may pop out, nothing bad'll happen unless you loose the spring that pops out with it.

                • one of my fnds drove his cbz xtreme (digi) on choke unknowingly for 3 kms ....the interesting part his bike's fuel consumption has increased after that
                  ....can that be the reason for increased fuel consumption????? if yes what can be done to get back the normal fuel efficiency?

                    • finally i got Angel Eye pair( blue) for 500rs. And the very saddest part is when i went to a battery shop they guy told me that cant remove the reflector because it is molded (sticked) to the whole part. I am really sad. Is there any DIY to install angel Eye?

                      Even turning the carb screw hmm my milage not crossing 45kmpl :-(

                        ya buddy its molded,but i guess it can somehow be opened.cracks can be there during this so wont suggest you at all.

                          engine gets ONLY FUEL(least/no air) while choke ON, so thats the reason for fuel consumption increase.. check for the choke cable,i guess its okay..
                          FE will be back to normal as before,dnt worry

                          • I had serviced my bike at 1200.now 1700 on odo.I had used castrol power 1 15w40 oil during service and after using this oil my mileage dropped from 53kmpl to 41kmpl.I checked my mileage twice using reserve to reserve and both the time it was just 41 to 42.carb is untouched and its still in stock setting.air filter and plug was cleaned during service.will switching back to 10w30 oem oil solve my problem.?
                            1 more thing I would like to mention here is..recently bike was not going beyond 50kmph due to insufficient fuel supply to carb.water entry into fuel tank was suspected but it was back to normal by itself.
