    psr sir,

    My first post(Page-359,360)
    :
Greetings. In my 2300 mileage ride i did twice pull the throttle and pulled it to 8k rpm in every shifting. And twice i saw a large amount of white smoke coming out of my exhaust.
Guys, is this anything to worry about?

Check and post Pic of your spark plug here to diagnose the problem. Is the oil level going down ?

One thing should be mentioned and i think it's important is the petrol we r getting here in bangladesh now a days is worse than ever. It's being mixed with kerosine. The funniest but saddest part is we can do nothing about it (don't ask why!!).

And sorry for the delay psr sir. I've not gone to svc yet.

Exactly.. its like getting fresh(i doubt dat :P ) rubber(oil) over ur flat tyre(used oil).

I have changed my engine oil to Shell advance 20w40 mineral oil (Shell advanced AX3 i guess )
... Motul was there but i didn't get it... Also there was a SS in shell for the grade 10w40... Is it a good grade for the Hunk?
you can very well use it for hunk but the recommended one is 10W30.in summers 20W40 will be better as compared to 10W30 in cold.
Thought of shifting to SS or FS after 10k...

Is shell 20w40 a good one?.. I could not get gulf here in Chennai...
I have switched from castrol1 to Shell AX3, and i liked it .
Motul was 225 bucks and shell was 245 bucks... Shell was new i.e. Oct 2011 stock... I chose shell feeling more the cost, more the quality... Also fresh stock...

      Was my decision correct????
Dont doubt about ur decision as far as u r using fresh,sufficient,on-time oil change .

      Regards

I think there is oil in the plug and valve stem seal is the culprit.

There is excess amount of oil on the plug threads...so the oil coming into the cylinder is not small. I suspect Bore and piston wear.....if the engine oil level is not dropping at 750 to1,000 Kms of use then the problem can be due to Valve stem seal leak......but I am sure the engine oil must be going low at least by 100 to 200 ml after 1,000 Kms of use.
Take it to SVC ASAP and get it corrected.
The stock plug for Karizma/CBZ/Hunk is NGK DPR 8 EA-9.

The prices mentioned in the blog are 99% correct price as i had copied directly from the bill i got from SVC. If there is any error, its caused due to my mistake.

Check whether the headlight part is a small part or covers the whole HL assembly. Will be less than 400rs i guess.

                      • chain noise problem in cbz xtreme

                        Hi,
I own CBZ Xtreme 2008, 21000 kms done. Always serviced at HH ASC. Wel maintained and I am not facing any major issues in bike. Average is 47-48 kmpl in city and 54 kmpl on highway.

I need help regarding the drive chain. When I put bike on centre stand and rotate the rear wheel, the chain movement makes a "kad kad" kinda noise and doesn't sounds smooth. Also the wheel will not take many rotations freely and stops soon.

                        1. Is it a sign of chain being dirty and cleaning will make it perfect?
                        2. Will adjustment solve the problem?
                        3. Or have the chain and sprockets worn out?

But I am not able to feel any major difference while riding. Just worried abt it though.

                        Thanks

Check whether the alignment is same on both sides,Check the grid on the swing arm.Check the lines next to the axle bolt.

If misaligned, align it correctly,it will solve the problem. If you can ,please post the pic of front sprocket,we can check wear.

                          3. Or have the chain and sprockets worn out?
Might be,Not sure, cant say without seeing the pic.

Your chain definitely needs to be cleaned and lubricated...

Get your chain/front sprocket cleaned as well as lubed thereafter.

That kad kad sound may be partially due to misalignment that can be rectified as described by Aneesh.

Upload the pics of the sprockets, chances are less but let us see .

Lokk for the rear tyre wobbling from behind once u rotate it,check for the wheel alignment.

You will certainly feel the change once u clean ur chain/sprockets 4 sure .

                              • I am on Shell advance ax5 20w40 mineral oil on my Hunk...

With HH 10w30 oil, the engine used to heat up a lot. Now the engine seems to be cooler than before with the 20w40 oil..

My engine oil was changed on 5300km at HH SVC... Engine oil was topped up on 7350km at HH SVC...

When I drained the oil on 7800km, the oil looked damn dirty and was very thin.. The local mech who did the change told me that the engine oil level is as if it has done some 5000km.. He advised me to change the oil regularly at 2000km irrespective of any brand...

I am thinking of shifting to FS for my next change.

What brand do u people recommend for me??
