re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Bro I guess m running lean because i tried ripping her on stand still up to 6000-7000 rpm & needle came down normally, but when i was riding her on highway n took her to 7000 rpm, it was falling down slowly.Originally posted by RohIIT View PostHe has altered the AFR screw , yes by changing the afr you can change the character of entire bike , but tuning the carb is not a child's play, it requires lot of experience ask any one here , If now you are not facing any problems and mileage is more than 50kmpl then carb tune is probably fine. Notice how rpm needle falls when you rev to 6-7k in neutral, if it falls slowly then you are running lean . A poor top end speed means you are running rich
if yours is Hero Xtreme the afr would be between 1.5 to 2 turns out, this is a vague range as afr changes for each bike.
If you want to tune carb yourself , you can follow sibun's guide. I did that tune and it is still the same .

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
On neutral or stand still bike wont have any momentum , but while moving it will have momentum while will make deceleration of bike slower hence needle falls slowly, a symptom of running lean would be difference of 5-600 or more rpm difference in cold and hot condition. Mine idles at 1400 when hot and 1100 while stone cold .Originally posted by PRATHM View PostBro I guess m running lean because i tried ripping her on stand still up to 6000-7000 rpm & needle came down normally, but when i was riding her on highway n took her to 7000 rpm, it was falling down slowly.

Don't get worried too much.Originally posted by PRATHM View PostBro I guess m running lean because i tried ripping her on stand still up to 6000-7000 rpm & needle came down normally, but when i was riding her on highway n took her to 7000 rpm, it was falling down slowly.
Check the symptoms RohIIT mentioned.
Are you facing any cold start issues now? If not, you are probably not running lean.
Also, check your mileage once.

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Do not get paranoid on the tuning thing as from your description i can make out that the person who has tuned the bike knows a thing about tuning the bike. Nothing to worry and even if he has tuned it wrong we can always make it right. So nothing to worry.Symptoms of lean tuning is rpm falling slowly when bike is revved in neutral, engine racing when hot, and bike knocking when pulled from low rpm in high gear, Symptoms of rich mixture are bike rpm decreasing on getting hot, bike not acceerating freely when hot, and a blunt top enf performance. If both these symptoms are not there nothing to worry.Originally posted by PRATHM View PostHi guysIts been more than 6 months since purchase & 2960 kms on odo, my bike is running fine. From last 2 weeks I was facing some weird problem. My was not starting when i kept her standed for more than 2 days. It happened twice. Here in mumbai climate is quit hot & still faced problem in bike start. I tried kick & electric starter but it took some good 15 mins to bring her live. Today i went to ASC & asked supervisor about this problem. And what he did was increased RPM to some 4000-5500 RPM & then adjusted some screw at opposite side of bike, left side of bike. He rotated that screw left to right & vice versa for some 1-2 turns When i asked that did u messed with Card screw, he said no i adjusted RPM of bike & i was like.
because he did it with screw driver. Now my concern is did he messed with carb..? Is there screw to adjust RPM of bike from left side & how adjusting RPM is linked to bike start problem in morning..? If he messed with Carb, how i can check it..? I havn`t checked my bike mileage since last 4 tank fills...Do i need to adjust carb.Kindly help meThanx in advance. Why do you want to open a perfectly working engine for this small problem. No need of even re=threading. Just take it to a Lathe and ask them to use a oversize drain bolt and also use a tap to oversize the drain bolt thread. In a matter of Rs. 50 your problem will be solved. No need of opening the engine or even re-treading. Just using an oversize drain bolt and re-threading the casting using Tape is all. Most lathe knows what to do.Originally posted by Jith_in View PostGuys i have a cbz xtreme 2011 model yesterday i noticed few drops of oil under my bike. Tried to tight drain bolt but it was rotating freely. Visited asc and they said the threads on engine side are gone and need to replace the whole casting which costs 2.5k. Is there any other way to rectify this problem? I am from kollam, kerala. re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
one of my friend turned that screw and faced performance issues, then he went to showroom and checked the screw position of the showcased bike and did his reset. for you, i think you need to give it to ASC, because i think you may not know how much did that guy turned the screw.Originally posted by PRATHM View PostBro how can i know about my previous stock setting & he was fiddling with that screw as if it is just simple nut which need to be tightened..
Can anyone tell me drain period for VEEDOL TAKE OFF 4T premium oil. Its almost 1100kms from oil fill. Should i replace it now..?
between, are you using VEEDOL...? i suppose you are using the same grade 10W30. i tried many oil and finally satisfied with hero oil only.

I adjusted RPM to 1250-1300RPM. 1500 RPM in hot condition & 1200-1300 in cold condition.Originally posted by RohIIT View PostOn neutral or stand still bike wont have any momentum , but while moving it will have momentum while will make deceleration of bike slower hence needle falls slowly, a symptom of running lean would be difference of 5-600 or more rpm difference in cold and hot condition. No cold start issues now. Bike started with one thumb start that too in morningOriginally posted by SatSon View PostDon't get worried too much.

Also previously bike was struggling a lot to idle after starting, now idling is normal.
Ok bro. As u suggested not to touch carb setting that's why i was worried but now things seems to be fine. Just need to check with mileage. If its all fine then no issue.Originally posted by sibun View PostDo not get paranoid on the tuning thing as from your description i can make out that the person who has tuned the bike knows a thing about tuning the bike. I am using VEEDOL take off 4t premium 10w30 mineral oil. HERO oil & veedol oil both are provided from same manufacturer i.e. TIDE water. Veedol oil is much better than hero one. after 1000 km hero oil start shwoing age, making engine little harsh, heat up. Using veedol now & no such issues had been faced till that too after 1100 kms. Din`t know about veedol`s drain interval that why asked..Originally posted by dineshaugustin View Postone of my friend turned that screw and faced performance issues, then he went to showroom and checked the screw position of the showcased bike and did his reset. for you, i think you need to give it to ASC, because i think you may not know how much did that guy turned the screw.
