re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
hi,currently in my HH Glamour (12000 Kms ),i'm feeling that my engine sound has increased or changed.i haven't done any repair inside my engine but did regular services at correct times
Although i haven't checked my tappets and cam chain tension since i purchased my bike ( even service guys haven't )
does the incorrect tappet or cam chain give this tractor type sound
or is it normal for Glamour ? i noticed that Hunk and CBZ has much more smoother sound.Honestly i couldn't pay much attention to the Glamour engine sound from the beginning ,but now i think the sound has increased or changed ( sound clip link can be seen below ) please give some advice.thank you very much.

Cam chain should not get loose because of automatic cam chain tensioner in your bike, there is every possibility of tappets making sound as you have already clocked 12000kms, so get them checked and switch to semi synthetic oil for your engine.

Both are mineral oils. Neither of them are semi synthetic. Did you get the silver bottle at HH service ?Originally posted by chulubuly View Postthank you mate.so do you think this engine sound is strange for Glamour ? i'll try to get the tappets checked from a service center.yeah i always use the oil which HH service center provides ( as seen in below pictures ) hope they are semi synthetic

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Hello Guys.I got mileage as 58.6km/1.1ltr=53.27 Km/ltr. I was riding in range of 45-55-60 Km/Hr & 80% Highway+20% city run. If i ripped hard it comes down to 35-40 Km/ltr. Is it good mileage figure for my ride, as i had been facing issue of bike start problem & hero service center person altered my AFR setting. This mileage is checked after that. As few members were quoting of getting mileage 55 to 65 km/ltr. How can i get good mileage in this range.I lubed my chain regularly in 800-1000 km interval. Maintains tyre pressure as 30 psi front & 34 psi rear. Also i open throttle very slowly. Should i alter my carb tuning or leave it as it its.Kind give your opinion.Last edited by PRATHM; 05-20-2014, 03:51 PM.

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
At 36k on odo the timing chain will start making sound and it will be a ringing sound and comes when engine gets hot. At 32k my extreme also is starting to have slight timing chain noise. While changing the timing chain change the timing pads and also the tensioner as a set for the new chain to last longer.Go for OE chain as it is of silent chain.Originally posted by nishesh.kumar View PostHi Guys,Need some advice !My xtreme has completed 36 K on odo. From last few days, I'm observing rattling sound from engine especially when engine is cold.Consulted my mechanic, and he told that it's timing chain noise. Now my question is that by replacing only the timing chain will the issue be resolved? Or the complete assembly which includes chain, both sprockets, guide and tensioner should be replaced. One more question is what all parts are included in the genuine cam chain kit?Nothing to worry as most of the people and mechanics do it. It will last as long as you never tighten the drain bolt with too much force. The threads gets damaged due to too much force and nothing else. This will last as long as you want if tightening is taken care off. Thousands of bike run that way.Originally posted by Jith_in View PostGot the oil leaking problem fixed.. But a doubt still remains.. Will it last long? Or it will get loose on few oil changes?Tapatalked from my Canvas A76Thats the TPS sensor and changes the ignition maps in CDI. our bikes has different maps at different throttle openings. If you ride gradually then no problem. If you are ham fisted with the throttle then it will show problems such as bike not responding quickly to throttle inputs. And Veedol makes best oil in market and there is no doubt in it.Originally posted by BloggingWheels View PostLast week I took my Hunk for servicing (paid). Now many of you would advice me against it as I do to members here. Having said that, my service center allows me to supervise the complete work to my satisfaction and hence the decision. Still, I had some issues - more on that in my later posts. While servicing, the mechanic found that the part in the below pic, (circled in red) was 'open'. I believe it is some kind of a sensor(?) I don't know since how long was that open. Maybe many months coz last time I had changed my clutch wire was way back in Oct last year!
What is this part? How critical is it for proper functioning of the motorcycle? BTW - I am consistently getting mileage above 55kmpl. The performance is very good. No issues whatsoever. I am using Veedol 10w40 super swift for the past 2 refills. (I recently drained it at 3000kms). The oil is pure gold. Very smooth shifts and I highly recommend it during summers. Winters and other seasons, go for Veedol 10w30 with eyes closed. Haven't used Gulf so can't comment on it.Next change at high altitudes - Veedol 10w30 Take Off 4T premium.
Mileage is good and so also tuning. Nothing to worry. Extreme mileage will decrease to 40-45 kpl if ripped hard. Its because it has a 28mm carb with 128mm main jet. The thrill that you get for the push after 6k rpm, this is a small price to pay for that kind of performance.Originally posted by PRATHM View PostHello Guys.I got mileage as 58.6km/1.1ltr=53.27 Km/ltr. re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Any bike will give good mileage between 45 to 55 km/hr, that's the economy zone, even highlighted in your bike's speedometer in green colour, if you rip it obviously you will get lower mileage as you burn more fuel, lubing the chain is necessary, but don't lube it extensively as it will attract more dirt and hence more friction, bike starting issues can occur because of lean tuning of the carburetor, but i think once the engine gets hot you wouldn't be facing this starting problem, just check the colour of your bike's spark plug and that will pretty much indicate about the af mixture engine is recieving.Originally posted by PRATHM View PostHello Guys.I got mileage as 58.6km/1.1ltr=53.27 Km/ltr. I have just got the clutch plates replaced.. HH service station guys have used the HH achiever clutch plates in my HH hunk.. will this cause porblem?
Brother's my HH hunk clutch plates are gone again...
HH service station guys has replaced it... free to cost... however I am unable to understand how come Clutch plates of Hunk can be similar to Achiever... Hunk is 14.4 bhp and Achiver is 13.4 bhp.
Service engineer is saying its the same for hunk and achiever... but I don't think so..
As I spoke to the local macahic and me told me somethig strange.. by giving example of pulser... as pulser comes in 150, 180 and 200cc. the difference is just the clutch plates in all these segment.. this is how they are generating more power.
Brother's if someone expert from our group can comment on this.. that would be great..
If we can prove Hero motors if fooling us.. I can assure that I will take is further action.. and assure all of us are getting correct parts for our bikes..

Practically speaking acheiver and Hunk both clutch plates are same. Its not in the power but the torque and both bike produces similar torque figures.Originally posted by Madness View PostBrother's my HH hunk clutch plates are gone again...

I do not understand why your bike is eating up clutch plates so soon. Check your clutch play adjustment. Make sure that there is atleast 10 mm play in clutch so that clutch do not remain engage by mistake.
My extreme is at 32k and clutch is still like the day it came from factory.
And the mechanic who gave the comment on the clutches then he is the greatest fool.
When changing the clutch plates ensure that you change both the clutch plates and steel plates. Also while changing the clutch plates check the clutch housing for free play and also wet the clutch plates with new engine oil before fitting.
And keep adequate play in clutch in order to fully disengage.Photo of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/854067-post963.html-3.88 lac km cont....Ownership review of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/832255-post608.html- slowly updating as and when getting time. re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Why are you unhappy with the OEM mineral oil ? If you want a semi synthetic oil try Shell. It is available in 10w40 though. I was using it for a while , after 2k kms I found the engine a bit struggling and I faced trouble in cold starts. I switched back to 10w30 mineral oil and I am now happy.Originally posted by chulubuly View Post
