    Hi Guys,

    I've done 1100 kms on my extreme since the last servicing. Pickup is really good, thanks to the new clutch plates.

    I'm still plagued by the milage issue. I had replaced the plug with Bosch UR5DC twin electrode, but could not observe any performance gain even after 1100 kms. Milage is still hovering around 38-40 kmpl.
    So I decided to revert back to the recommended NGK CPR8EA9. Below is the image of Bosch plug after using for 1100 kms.

Could you please list the pros and cons of the 110 section tyre? I have searching madly in markets of jamshedpur, Ranchi and kolkata but nowhere I am getting CEAT vertigo/zoom in the profile 100/90-18 TL ones. I have found one shop that is selling Dunlop Geo cruiser in the desired profile and another shop which is selling Michelin Sirac Street 110/90 section. TL. An urgent feedback is needed to help me select a tyre ASAP.
        Others: who have changed their tyres from the stock Zapper Y (tubeless only) can share their 2 cents on the same.

            According to me, better bet would be Gulf pride 4T synth, which I have been using in my xtreme since last year. But I usually drain this oil before 3000 kms.
            Its mrp is 350/-, but in Delhi I get this oil @ 300/- per bottle

              Was 260/- last year , a w50 variant of that oil costs 310/- now , But if you are able to get Veedol w30 get that it is better than Gulf.

                If Dunlop Geo cruiser is a TL then get it.
                I had used a dunlop geo cruiser 3X18 on my Passion and it was good.

                  I am looking for dual purpose ones. Esp because of a ride coming up shortly. 50% highways 50% in mountainous regions. I am therefore not entirely convinced with the Geo Cruiser; though I think should be good for the highways. Loose gravel/slush/ - grip I am not so sure. What about Dunlop monster?

                    I had 120/80 Zapper Q TT tire(not 110/90) for some 13k kms. I have mentioned the pros/cons multiple times here
                    This Zapper Q had very good grip, but it was rubbing the chain guards and tire used to hit mudguard edges on riding with a pillion. Mileage was also affected a bit I think.
                    I recently switched to CEAT ZOOM 100/90 TT. Please note that my Hunk is 2008 model that came with TT tires.
                    There are not many options for rear tires of our bikes, as they are 18"

                    I think 110/80 tire won't create any problems.

                      I am planning for 110/90 -18" tubeless ones. Let me see what I get.

                      120/80 means the height of the tyre = 80% of 120 = 96mm
                      similarly for 100/90 = 90mm
                      110/90 = 99mm.

                      I had a rough estimation yesterday and I think 99mm won't hit the mudguard ? But going by your experience, a tyre wall height of 96mm was hitting the rear mudguard with a pillion? !!

                        hi, actually the numbering 110/80 reffers to 110 tyre width and 80 refers to height of the tyre.

                          It is not about height, but width. The width of 120 section tire is more than what rear mudguard can accommodate.
                          It will hit the mudguard's curved edges. Stock tire will move into the mudguard without touching edges. Hope you understand what I'm trying to say.

                            ^Okkkayyy...achhha...now I get it....Curved edge of the mudguard. Hmmm...theoretically, if a 120 section touches the lower chain guard then it should touch the inner edges of the mudguard also. And that is what has happened to your Hunk precisely. Hmm...

                            How was the handling like with the 120 section tyre? Top speed/acceleration? using your figures and experience, I am trying to estimate my Hunk's handling/performance w.r.t. fitting a 110/90 section tubeless.

                              Hi Guys,
                              Need some advice !
                              My xtreme has completed 36 K on odo. From last few days, I'm observing rattling sound from engine especially when engine is hot.
                              Consulted my mechanic, and he told that it's timing chain noise.
                              Now my question is that by replacing only the timing chain will the issue be resolved? Or the complete assembly which includes chain, both sprockets, guide and tensioner should be replaced.

                              One more question is what all parts are included in the genuine cam chain kit?

                                A loose Timing Chain sounds like a sewing machine or loose tappets......that said if the diagnosis is correct then, Along with the timing chain the guide can be replaced . The Tensioner Must be inspected for compliance and if need be , changed. The timing chain, guides, and tensioner , all are individual components and come as such as separate spare parts.
