shaswata28- No extreme and Karizma shocks are not same. Cannot give the exact length as neither i own a karizma and not i own the previous model extreme. My extreme is the GRS model. But rest assured both are different as extreme shocks are longer and are more stiffer for better handling. For the price the GRS model is Rs. 1900 each and the non GRS model is Rs. 1300 each guruextreme- Recently i also saw a new extreme near our house parked. Overall the bike looks good, but the tank is the sore point as Hero has gone for the shape of the old tank unlike ours, new model has a thinner tank when looked from top. Our model had a wide tank and looked good from seating position. Else i looked and everything else looked very good especially the rear portion. Also the rear tyre looks meaty and the open chain looks fantastic. As it was night couldn't look at the sprockets properly as to what is the teeth. Must have been increased as the new tyre is 110/90 which is 99mm in height rather than 90 mm of ours old which will change the gearing. But the main thing that i was very excited to note was while the bike was parked a blue ring was blipping around the key hole which was indicating the im-mobiliser was activated and the key is the code. As per my sources the im-mobiliser is from same company that supplies to maruti( nippon) and uses a rolling code. So starting without original key.I had not ridden the bike but my friend who has ridden says that it doesn't feel aggressive as mine bike.May be Hero has changed the CDI timing or else my bike is habituated to high rpm run so is feeling agressive as my bike 99% runs at 6k and above rpm ashwin.terminator- Wow! the headlight looks seriously amazing. I knew that extreme and hunk has good focus and more intensity will be helpful. Was thinking of converting my bike to full DC and will now give it a serious thought

Signals a relay gone kaput again?

I really doubt if relays are so prone to frequent malfunctioning. Or is there some electrical fault that is causing this?
Any inputs guys? @sibun @shoeb? @paul.1911?

Ok do you hear any kind of noise when u press button ?Originally posted by BloggingWheels View PostJith in bro...get the gasket changed for the head cover. DO NOT overtighten the bolt. Instead of making a seal, the threads will slip and then as mentioned by rohiit...you will have a difficult time.
Rohiit bro.....any inputs on the relay issue?
If yes then relay is clicking, if not then follow the wires from throttle switch gear and see whrer they meet inside of visor , its kinda dense wiring are so carefully follow it , open the following connector and see for any anomalies, then clean and refit back connector
If relay clicks in and still doesnt start , check the battery for voltage , at cold by removing battery from bike circuit, should read 12v.
Next would be to open switch gear and see for carbon deposit of starter switch ( chances are very slim it would get defected)
See the starter motor and inspect whether connections are stable and firm , since its open it is prone to hard water problem you said.

My two words!. If you want will write a complete book on this pointOriginally posted by BloggingWheels View PostSibun...your two words on this erratic behavior?
.
Ok for the problem, if the relay clicks and then no response then this signals a gone relay.
But before changing relay do a thing, clean the terminals of battery and the relay using emery paper. the terminals are made of aluminum and thus are prone to oxidizing. What you can do is clean it and see if the problem exists.
If again the problem is of relay clicking and no response, then throw away that relay and get a MINDA relay for extreme.
Lasts way longer than OE. I have changed two relays and now running on Minda relay with no problems.Photo of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/854067-post963.html-3.88 lac km cont....Ownership review of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/832255-post608.html- slowly updating as and when getting time. re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
^^ Hmmm...I was also thinking on similar lines. If you see the OE relay sets that come in new package, it is like old relays have been mended and then the cover has been glued with araldite! Last time I got it changed under warranty, the new packaged one looked like that. :O
'Clicking' issue was there before I changed the relay for the first time. Now, it is not like that. But will surely do the same and let you all know.
Thanks.

selfstart "tick" sound / not starting
hi recently i noticed that my HH Glamour tempted to start with a "tick" sound when i pressed the self start button (this happened after a normal bike service )even though with that sound it started well.but today it gives that "tick tick"sound and doesn't start at all
self start works sometimes when i turn off the bike and turn it on again from the ignition key.so what could be the problem
thank you very much.

Since Glamour FI thread hasn't had any responses in the past 4 years, I have merged it with the closest active thread on the forum.

Re: selfstart "tick" sound / not starting
thank you very much Sharan.
i inspected some parts,
1. Starter relay - don't know how to check
2. Battery terminals - inspected & ok
3. Spark plug - inspected & ok
can someone tell me the correct way to check my starter relay.but i think that clicking sound comes from somewhere around starter motor
And this bug clearly happened after my regular service.just wondering that high pressure washer has done something to my electrical parts.coz self start had been working very well before the service.

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
hi guys..!!
i am planning to change my HUNK's rear tyre. i narrowed down to 110/90 18 - tubeless tyre zapper Q. but recently i came to know that it is not available as tubeless. i searched in internet but couldnt find that particular tubeless tyre size in any of the brands, except conti-go. is it so, 110/90 18 - tubeless is not manufactured.? have anyone fitter 110 section tubeless in rear.?
thanks.

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Wait a little more a couple of months as the new extreme is coming with 110/90 tubeless tyres. So in a couple of months MRF, CEAT will bring out 110/90 tyres.Originally posted by dineshaugustin View Posthi guys..!!
