  • Has anyone had a tappets problem with your cbz extreme ? ?

What could be the possible reasons for it ?

How can it be rectified ??

Sarbanoxley ? I remember you mentioning this many a times earlier. Now my bike seems to have developed this problem courtesy the servicing at svc. Gave it for repair .The manager told that he'd get it done but the problem is still there .. when the engine is cold the difference in sound can be easily heard. i can explain if anyone wants in detail.
guys..if you ever need blood or want to donate blood, please refer to this site :

Do you ever notice that when you're driving, anyone going slower than you is an idiot and everyone driving faster than you is a maniac ?

Hey buddy today bought my Hunk back in the evening after service... Even its tappet had gone loose(now its rectified) so when ever i used to drive it, it used to shoot up to 3k idling rpm after few kms and some sort of sound and xyz problems... It can be easily rectified and as far as I learn it usually goes loose when you don't switch of engine properly like...
Usually we off the engine using clutch i.e we use first gear and phut - release clutch n engine stops... this has to be avoided instead switch it off properly and also continuous bursts of acceleration and so on...

Gear leaver left side is still ok but the right side rear set would be very difficult to connect the rear brake lever. These aftermarket things u can get easily but these are for rear disc brake. Also you can go for FZ rear set assembly but still it would be difficult to install I think.
Even FZ rear set doesn't impress me much... May be R15 will do some good... any idea about its match with Hunk... Any one tried any other rearsets

            • Hero Honda Hunk Issue

I own a HH Hunk it's just 2 years old and completed 8500kms.now acceleration drops drastically .It's taking huge time to reach 80km/hr and some kind of noise creates when reach 80km/hr,it's kind a mix of growl and clatter. clattering sound is coming from clutch housing side and growl coming from engine head side.
taken to the SVC, told me clutch worn out.But i have applied the process to check the clutch referred by a Xbhpian guru.

took the bike on main stand, depressed the clutch and put it in 4/5th gear and reach 4000rpm by rotating the throttle, release the clutch slowly and the bike stalls.
So i think the clutch is good.So i can't be able to find the problem.
I am using power1 10w30 and don't think the tuning is not good.SVC people told me the tuning is perfect.

              Please Help me

                • @soumen.sam: can you please tel me if I can change the existing visor and head light with a round shaped head light? A round shaped headlight will give the Hunk a real masculine look, like the old Pulsar.I really liked the round shaped headlamp in my old caliber and i miss it too.

                  • another problem: in the traffic, i don't know why, people has a tendency to knock me from behind and effecting the rear end of exhaust. It has been knocked mostly by bikes(with the leg guards), cycles(with paddles), old ambassador taxi(with left/right side bumper). Though the knocking marks are not clearly visible as I have taken care of that. But can we put something, like heat resistant rubber band or something to lower the effect of the impact? Anyone has done anything on this issue?

Speed is a joy but roads are not race track. Keep speed in your limit and always Drive safe...

                          • Today I disassembled the bike(tank, side covers, headlight assembly) to remove the HID I have fitted. I am not really happy with the HID as it is consuming the battery power just like anything. So, I decided to back in stock, but kept the DC setting. As I was doing it very slowly and steadily. I was very surprised to see that in the upper most corners of the Headlight doom, there is a provision to fit LED - as the space provided over there was perfect for LED. It seems to me that HH had an intention to feet the led there. Any idea guys??????

The SC guys dont use the gauge most of the time, they dont follow the procedure prescribed in the manual .So had no choice but to take it to castrol bike zone to get it adjusted... those morons too were useless they used the wrong gauge due to which my engine started vibrating like a tactor so complained to castrol to no avail. The 3rd time i took it to a diff Bike zone in chennai, even these guys did not have the correct gauge, but i insisted on get the tappet set correctly ie IN = 0.08mm Ex = 0.12 so they looked everywhere in the workshop for the correct gauge and finally managed to find the thing. The mech said if he sets the tappet to manual specification i will exp some noise... i said thats OK and got it done.

The rising RPM problem vanished instantly.SOme one here said(Riaz bhai) it could be due to me using the wrong grade oil (Motul 300V 5W 40W ).So reverted back to 10W 30 grade to check if the problem reoccurs.I completed 3700Kms of which 3000 was on motul dino + 700Kms on mini motul(Gulf) the problem has not surfaced except for this chik chik noise that i hear from the engine head.
