Hi Shoeb,

Thank you so much for sharing this. I will get this done in my next servicing as my bike touches 31k kilometres. I had no idea of this. Since I am getting all this done, which oil would you recommend? I read a lot of names back there - Shell, Gulf, and Especially motul, so I no not sure. PLease advise. Thank you.

As the carbon gets deposited, the compression increases and the engine feels harsh/rough. FE also goes down a little bit.

Even sibun has mentioned this innumerable times but nobody seem to care.

Parts required :
1. Head gasket
2. Top cover/rocker cover rubber gasket.
3. Head O-ring kit(includes top cover bolt o-ring,ASV o-ring etc..)
4.Exhaust gasket
5.Engine oil
6.Spark plug
7.Air filter(If old/used for more than 6K kms)
Few other parts depending upon the need.

Including labor and parts, this should not cost more than Rs.1000/-

Weird , i had to pay 74530rs for Cbz Xtreme single disc bought previous year september , that included everything even half tank fuel by showroom guys. I guess showroom guys loot on accessories part and my showroom sales guy did registration and tax payment through a agent which took nothing from me , instead he was paid by showroom people. Odd thing was they took 350rs as some transport charge and 500rs for accessories such as rear saree guard and mirrors virendrapareek : Try shell AX7 10W40 or Mobil 10w30 , shell is semi synth while mobil is mineral , Try Mobil i liked it very much after using Hero oil..Change mineral oil at 1200k max and semi synth at 2-2.5k max.

Hi Guys,
Now, the rear disc brakes of my xtreme is giving problem. All of the sudden, there is no compression while pressing the brake pedal. I had changed the rear disk pads to ASK since OEM are too costly at 23K on odo. I also keep checking the brake fluid level in the reservoir, and do a top-up if required. But still the performance of rear disc brake is not at all up to the mark. Please help me out.

If brake fluid level is right, then this should be issue due to worn out brake piston.
I had this issue and resolved when the piston is replaced.

Hi Guys,

As i am facing issue with my front disc brakes, brakes are not effective and feel very unsafe, checked by local mechanic he suggested to change the complete pump (where lever push to a small black box), as the pads are fine even then i have changed to ASK but got no result, so would you guys think will this resolve my brake problem?

Else everything is fine like brake pads, break fluid, caliper, disc plate.

Problem is the master cylinder is leaking pressure. Get the pistons and kit changed. It comes as a kit and is called as minor kit. Change it and with it change to new brake fluid, brake will perform like new.

Same as above, change the master cylinder piston, it comes as a kit and is priced at 245. It happens as brake fluid gets old and build sludge and as a result the pistons gets damaged. So changing the brake fluid every six months is beneficial.

Actually I am facing this braking issue from when bike was just completed almost 7-8k now it is almost 20k, thousands of time I reported the same to SVC but they unable to resolve the problem and every time says it is working fine, because it looks like working fine till 30-40 kmph after that if you try to brake hard around 60-70 is feels like hell it does not byte the disc plate to stop the wheel, which feels very scary on roads and after to push the lever very very hard it could not able to lock the tyre, it just the case of lack power in biting the disc plate and half of the lever does not affect anything on the wheel to stop.
So my point is changing of master cylinder would do the job as it didn't work fine ever so how can it be end of his life of any thing and brake fluid is fine I have checked it with a local mechanic and then he suggested to change the pump kit? Please help....

By pump kit he meant the master cylinder kit. From the description you have given it is a clear case of front piston problem, what is happening is that the pressure you are applying at front brake lever is not transmitting to the lower caliper, also check the bolt which holds the front lever to the calliper, if it is having play, then also brake will not perform optimally. From your description, it is a case of master cylinder leaking compression. If you have still doubt then get the new bybre master cylinder complete that comes in new extreme, and fit it, nothing to worry, there is not a single problem that cannot be solved. Change the master cylinder piston, or else if you have doubt change the complete master cylinder. But first change the kit, will cost only 245 and take only 15 mins to change.

Trust me, Gulf 10w30 is the best oil for CBZ Xtreme. I have been using it since long.
Oil is very consistent in performance, Engine is smoother and revs freely when compared to other oils. The drain period is also high when compared to others (still I change oil every 2500kms).

Got two cans 7 months back for Rs 195 each. But now price has increased to Rs 250/- when I changed oil 3 days back.

55km is pretty nice mileage you are getting , while transition from on mode to reserve there is a bit of loss , i have experienced that too.. Try reserve to reserve method it is pretty accurate..can you please share your driving technique ? I also want to improve my skills.

Its a 10w30 oil that all existing honda 150cc engines use. So you need not be scared. I used the same oil on my 2007 xtreme and 2009 xtreme all the time. I dont think they were will be any improvement in performance if u change oil. On gulf 10w30, engine runs relaxed, smooth and free reving. My bike reaches to 8000rpm easily.
