Anyways, like suggested. Claim insurance. You will get it on majority of parts you have mentioned. Those scratches on headlamp assembly wont affect the throw much. I have them too. I had everything changed, except the front cowl[was too expensive. Have a sticker covering it now]. I only had to pay 200. What matters is it was restored to showroom condition.
Bro as per my knowledge, my hands were on handles when accident happened so still confusion how that happened..:O
tried time setting yesterday & it worked, thanx.. but tell me how to change AM to PM..? Why your RPM needle is below zero mark.?

You can use the replacement key provided with your bike. As for another key then you cannot make it from market as it will not open the shutter.I have tried my key on another new extreme in showroom and the shutter didn't open with my bikes key. That is one security feature which most of us do not know. For another key what you do is order the key with the key number and you will get from factory. If you have read the owners manual it has been mentioned that for duplicate key then as in Maruti cars you have to order new keys from factory with key number similarly in extreme you have to order the new keys with key numbers from company. It has been mentioned in manual. All the new extreme owners who posses the new digital model have a look in your owners manual. It has been mentioned in it.
Sibun ji what documents we get when we purchase bike...do we get complete owner manual..? As my bike is not yet registered i got insurance papers & cash acknowledgement receipt only when i took delivery of bike. showroom person told me that i`ll get pakka bill & service booklet after my bike will get registered at RTO & RC smart card will be posted at home within 1-2 month.

The BPCL one is not good, get the hero oil manufactured by tide water, if you don't find the one by hero then you'll find it at Honda.

Usually the best time to ride a bike is during rains or nights. The thrill of riding a bike in rains or during night is unrivaled by anything in world.

Moreover if it is winter night then it feels a little eerie which further heightens the pleasure of riding.

Yes, winter is finally here in Odisha. During the Diwali bank was closed for two days i.e 2nd october on saturday and 3rd october on sunday. So i had to go on friday and friday being a full working day i was free by 4:30 Pm. Since winter are here so it gets dark by 5:30 latest.

Home is 172 km from my place of posting. By the time i had covered 60 km it had got dark as it took 1.30 hours as the roads are damaged by cyclone and following floods.

So by the time i reached Highway it was dark and also the chill has started to settle in. I had to ride 110 km in dark to reach Bhubaneswar.

So the dark night along with chill felt like heaven. Moreover i had not taken the winter wear so it was very cold.

Due to the cold the bike was responding awesome to throttle inputs. Bike was building up speed like crazy. But the chill was limiting my speed.
On the way the dark night with the lights of the cockpit:-

It's excellent oil for now in winter . Only don't ride it into the summer . Drain by 1500kms . I'm using the tidewater made variant of this oil now and I still have a stock of 5 bottles more . Got it cheaply less than 165.00 each .

Is there any reason as to why this thing? Even on my ride to outskirts on Diwali night[to escape all the sound], I noticed this for the first time. Since it is cold her ein HYD[14C], bike's throttle response is out of this world.

I guess this has to do with the density of the air. Cold air is more dense than hot air, so more air enters the combustion chamber this assisting in better burning of the fuel. Something like the effects of a Cold Air Intake I guess.

Then again, I assume this based on how Turbochargers work. More air = Better burning. Or something of the sort.

Cold air = better engine cooling , and hence better performance. (probably)

No way can an extra clutch plate will fit. If his plates are worn then only an extra plate will fit but will damage the clutch plate and center in long run.The pick up increased because his plates will be worn and the extra plate will have prevented slippage. If all the plates are new then in no way can the extra plate fit.The same effect will be seen when new clutch plates are used.More over achiever will lift the front wheel easily as it puts out maximum torque at 5000 rpm as compared to our extreme at 6500 rpm. More over achiever is lighter by 10 kg to extreme and is front light than extreme which is front biased. So achiever lifts the front wheel easily. Moreover achiever has a smaller carburettor which gives it better low end pulling than our extreme which has a bigger carb, for that top end pull.
sibun ji, i think achiever and xtreme uses the same carburator - smaller carburator means the jet size or the whole carburator

and the what are the main differnce between achiever and xtreme engine ?

Manual says to clean the oil filter on first 500 and every 5000km.

But I think most of the svc don't do it on regular service

                        Is it easy to DIY?
I found its easy to do it on fz and pulsar 200 as the filter have a separate opening.
Should I consider visiting a SVC to do it?

its ~24000 on odo and I believe the oil filter untouched.

Guys, finally I just found a Motul Fork Oil 20W (350ml) but I am not sure if it is genuine because its very old (manufacturing date 2011).
Please help me to identify. It appears greenish in colour when I saw inside the bottle and it looks golden in colour while pouring. Is it original?
I am planning to do DIY of forks soon.

It also explains why many xtremes have the shutters removed by the owners when they lose their original keys.
Do not talk about people, they are complete A***oles. Unfortunately these people are major advisors of buying bikes and giving lectures to others
If the key is lost then we can order a new lock set as the new set comes with new shutter. So when you change the lock set the shutter is also changed. But who spends this much of money, they just get a steel key made(original is brass and thus doesn't damages the levers in lock) for cheap which screws the levers in the lock.

Man, i do not understand if they cannot spend on bike maintenance then why the hell do they ride bikes that too bigger bikes when they are expensive to maintain. I have seen people not even washing the bikes for years as if washing the bikes will cause it to get light and affect stability.Even my cousin brother who reads in 12th class is the same. He only dreams of riding CBR, ninja and what not but his moms scooty and their stunner they never even get a wipe with a cloth. Only ride and then keep it when not in use.

While you get the delivery of bike these things you must get from dealer.
                            1. Cost invoice- a computer generated challan denoting the ex-showroom price, VAT, insurance and total cost.
                            2. Receipt of any accessories fitted
                            3. Good life card
                            4. Owners manual( the most important thing that is this as it helps a lot as the company knows much better about the bike than the bunch of idiots in showroom). This should always be delivered with bike. If not call Hero on 1800-266-0018.This has nothing to do with rto.
                            5. Insurance policy

And my god RTO works takes 1-2 months. Here it takes 10 days at max that too during season time like Diwali or Dusshera.

I prefered to give reply to this answer a little late as i wanted to give the complete answer rather than only a one liner. Why the bike responds better when it is cold then we have to go into physics of engine operation.
First of all we have to learn the basic difference is fueling between petrol and diesel engine.

In a petrol engine the throttle controls the venturi which controls the air flow into engine. But in diesel engine the throttle controls the fuel spraying into engine. So basically when we are throttling a petrol engine we are opening the flow of air into engine but in diesel engine we are increasing the diesel sprayed in engine.

You can verify this as when we are moving slow in a high gear and suddenly we open the throttle bike bogs down, this is because we temporarily create more air and less fuel. Similarly when the same thing is done in diesel engine that suddenly pressing the accelerator in slow speed you will see black smoke from tail pipe. Its because the fuel is suddenly sprayed and lack of air causes in complete combustion and thus spills out smoke.

Both the disadvantages are curtailed by suitable method as petrol got fuel injection which studies the mass of air and immediately changes the fuel sprayed, and in diesel engines turbochargers along with CRDI has most of all eliminated the problem to much larger extent.

Okay, lets get into why cold air increases the throttle response. From the above explanation you can deduce the basic working of engine. In our carburettor bike what happens is that when we open the throttle the venturi opens and air rushes into the cylinder. The jet emulsifies the petrol and the fast moving air picks up the fuel.

But when suddenly throttle valves open then there is lag as air doesn't suddenly picks of fuel which cause the mixture to get momentarily lean. But after a moment the fuel picks up and acceleration increases.

But there is pick. The amount or volume of air is fixed as it is denoted by the capacity of engine.

SO when air is cold, we know density of air increases.

                            Density = Mass/ Volume.

Since Volume of air is constant for an engine, so when density increases so mass of air increases.

Since Mass of air increases so fuel carrying capacity and atomizing capacity of fuel increases. also Since mass of air is more so also the firing of fuel is better and better combustion takes place. And power is derived not from how much fuel is burned but how efficiently fuel is burned.

So when air is cold the mass of air is more. So when we give throttle the effect of leaning reduces as the more mass of air causes the fuel to immediately sucked into engine. This is the reason why we feel better throttle response in cold condition.

Also this is the reason why FI bikes and cars uses air sensor which measures the mass of air flowing than volume. Since FI engine has MAP sensor so this effect is reduced to a great extent.Ride a ZMR or glamor Fi and then the same bike in carburettor that is ZMA and glamour and you can feel the things i explained in theory in practical.

Also the place of photo shoot is also excellent.More owners welcome to post pictures as pictures make the thread lively and beautiful.

Coming to achiever and extreme then only the engine block is same and rest many a thing are different.

                            1. Extreme uses 28 mm venturi carb while achiever uses 26 mm veturi carb.

                            2. Achiever uses a mildly re-profiled camshaft of unicorn which results in unicorn producing maximum torque at 5500 rpm while achiever makes it at 5000 rpm. Extreme uses a completely different and high lift camshaft which makes the power and torque move north of the rev range.

                            3. Achiever CDI mapping is more smoother and has a flat curve which makes the bike very smooth as smooth as a unicorn, but extreme uses aggressive mapping which makes the bike rev quickly and aggressively

.4. This question Shoeb had asked me over phone, why unicorn which has same clutch plates as extreme is cheaper than extreme clutch plate. At that time i didn't had the answer but after seeing the both the clutch plates at my friends shop, i got the answer. Well another difference is that Achiever uses same clutch plate as unicorn which is cork based. But extreme uses paper based clutch plate with the thin plate being fiber which explains the higher cost. This was also the reason why your friend could accomodate another plate as cork plates on getting old gets compressed and thus slip and adding one more plate took away the gap. But paper based and fiber plates do not get compressed. They wear down and when sufficient clearance is done they slip and burn out.

Extreme doesn't has an oil filter, it has a centrifugal filter and a wire mesh what we call as oil strainer. If you are changing oil regularly then no need to open and clean. 24000 km is not much as in my Joy it was cleaned first time at 80k when clutch side was opened for clutch plate replacement(those days clutch plates were fibre which easily lasted the complete engine life).

Guys..got my bike today after 2 days at service center. Happiest man on earth after seeing her as new as showroom condition. Hats off to AHER auto (HERO dealer in Dombivli Kalyan region). They did job pretty good. Only thing is that they replaced my visor with HERO HONDA logo`s one as HERO logo`s visor was not available...
Got cash invoice of my bike, Owner`s manual from showroom. They told me that they will fit footer during RTO registration But they dint. Asked me to come on Saturday they will fit it. Also the guy who did work on bike told me he will give me plane key so that i could get is made from outside key maker. Don`t know how that key will be.? As per owner manual it says u can order duplicate key just need to note down no. mentioned on that small plate attached with key when they handover the bike. Will show this to them & will order duplicate key too..

Also i`m facing another problem. Whenever my ride gets hot it makes tik tik tik sound after riding few kms, its not audible when bike is started. Even on idle condition after riding some distance say 15-20 kms & after engine becoming hot it make tik tik tik sound. Seems to be like loose tappet problem. I asked service center`s main supervisor about that & he told me that it is normal as bike is new & they will not open engine in 1st service.
while reading some previous post i came across one FM who`s owned HUNK & that was just 10 days old n making tik tik tik sound. You all insisted him to get tappet adjusted
What should i do now...? My bike`s odo is 67km (actually it should be above 100 kms as meter wire was disconnected while taking delivery)
Should i continue riding without worrying or insist them to adjust tappets(valve clearance)..?
Also i got bike`s manual today which mentions that during 1st service valve clearance should be inspected & adjusted if required.
Please give your inputs. Especially SIBUN ji..
                              Thanx in advance.

Congrats on getting your bike repaired

Make sure the sound is coming from Silencer, If it is, then Tik tik sound is normal for all most all bikes Xtreme included. The silencer plate gets expanded after getting hot, so when engine is turned off, the plate contracts and thus the Sound produces
