I think the engine is the same, but the new xtreme comes with extra features like theft engine immobilizer, side stand engine kill switch etc. But personally I feel the old xtreme looks wayyy better. If it was me I would hurry and buy the old xtreme.

As Sinnerz2000 pointed out, the new refreshed XTreme that Hero recently launched has the same engine as the old one.
Not sure if they've made some tuning change like they did for new Karizma. But I guess not, as they have not mentioned about any variation in power.
The changes are in the styling and other features like immobilizer etc....

Usually in Manual it is recommended to use 90 grade oil. Presently i am using the same from Indian oil Servo brand. Pretty good gear oil and cost 90 rupees for half a litre. Also you can use 140 grade axle oil for chain lubing as it is quite heavy and makes the chain silent. Also it lasts for 2k or more as it doesn't gets flung as soon as other lighter oils.

Also should i go with Teflon coating for paint protection..? My bike`s paint is max brown which looks kind of matt finish.Pics with my dad..
User manual should be provided with the bike, if not then insist on same as it is an important piece of document to know your bike well. Also the coupons for free servicing are there only. No teflon coating as those are scams. If you want to do teflon coating then Get a WURTH brand GLOSS SEAL. Cost some Rs. 250 for 150 ml and it will provide a teflon coating for your bike and also cars in the single bottle. And congratulation on the bike. When i bought the bike same confusion between black and brown but finally black preceded as all our bikes are black. Welcome to the gang. I personally feel happy when someone buys an extreme/hunk. Do not know why but just feel happy.

Run-in is nothing but a natural process. Remember a small child, first he moves by crawling, then on his fours, then he starts walking, and then slowly stars running.Similar with bike, a new bike is not perfect. It needs to be taught to learn with environment. During running in we only think about engine, but there are lots of aspects than engine. In engine all the metals rub against each other to wear out and match with each other. Each gears and pinions mesh with each other and wear out to make a perfect fit. The rings run against the bore and hone against the bore to seal the combustion chamber. All the bearings run to get free. The tyres run on road to wear and provide grip. The chain rubs with sprocket to wear and make a perfect fit. The brakes wear out to get the required bite. Thousands and thousands of changes occurs. So keep the rpm between 3000-4500 rpm and keep varying the rpm so that bore doesn't glaze out itself. Vibration are normal and will decrease once all the parts have mated properly.

She was a faithful wife Her engine is still smooth as silkNever had any major problems with it thanks to the Hero Honda engineWhenever someone asks me, What bike in 150cc category, I'll definitely recommend Xtreme which is Stylish, powerful n refined Going to take a P200ns or any other bike which has to be more powerful than my current primary bike p220(clocked only 5.6k)Hope the next 2014 Xtreme would look Badass and lead the 150cc segmentThank you everyone especially sibun for supporting n helping for all the queries I had asked in this thread
Sad to know that you have to sell your extreme. Not only extreme but all hero bikes are so less maintenance intensive. I do not know how you all sell bikes, but i always fear even the thought of selling my bikes.I always feel that my bikes have life in them. I take care of them like a baby. The thought of selling their bikes to some one makes me afraid because the way people maintain their bikes make me feel afraid. I feel that the way i have pampered my bike any one else will abuse it. I feel as if my bike will feel the pain if i sell it.To make it better understand the feeling is same as a father giving his daughter in marriage. He always fears that his daughter will be taken care as he did.See we have never sold any bikes. The Joy is with us since last 14 years(no way of selling it, will sell a kidney but not the joy), pleasure is with us(sister has gone for service so i sometimes ride it), splendor + was stolen else will have been with us, splendor pro is with father( when he got shifted to raipur due to transfer and took it with him), and the extreme is clocking kilometers like crazy( was thinking of selling it after 3 years or 4 and upgrade to bigger bike, but slowly growing attached to it).Sorry for going emotional but selling my bikes is not my cup of tea.Best wishes for your new bike. New bike always brings up a different type of excitement in us which is hard to describe. Have you brought your new bike?Anyways keep visiting this thread. And thanks for recommending extreme to anybody looking for 150 cc bikes.

No way can an extra clutch plate will fit. If his plates are worn then only an extra plate will fit but will damage the clutch plate and center in long run.The pick up increased because his plates will be worn and the extra plate will have prevented slippage. If all the plates are new then in no way can the extra plate fit.The same effect will be seen when new clutch plates are used.More over achiever will lift the front wheel easily as it puts out maximum torque at 5000 rpm as compared to our extreme at 6500 rpm. More over achiever is lighter by 10 kg to extreme and is front light than extreme which is front biased. So achiever lifts the front wheel easily. Moreover achiever has a smaller carburettor which gives it better low end pulling than our extreme which has a bigger carb, for that top end pull.

Speed & respective RPM to be maintained at initial.2. Rpm wise gear shifting pattern3. Oil changing interval, which oil should be used in run in period (specific oil grade)4. Up shifting, downshifting of gears for those who are newbie. (Shifting from 5th to 1st gear)5. General blunders given by service center guys to newer bike owner during initial services & how to tackle this blunders.6. More suggestions from senior members will be appreciated.
          1. Speed and rpm then follow rpm. Keep the bike between 3-4k rpm in any gear and you are good to go.2. Nothing much do not let the rpm to fall below 2k rpm in any gear to prevent engine lugging.3. First oil change to be done after 500 km and next after 1200 km from first oil change. If you are using Hero oil then change at 1200 km and if Veedol 10W 30 then 1800 km is good.5. Service center are bunch of jokers. Do not let them touch anything, just let them wash, change engine oil, clean filter and chain adjustment. Even after chain adjustment check if they have not tightened much.

Nothing will happen. Just keep cool. Jet doesn't gets danged unless one fiddles with the holes in jet.Yes jets are available individually.

Nothing to worry claim insurance and change anything that you feel doubt. Bike will be back to new. There is nothing that can be set right. Is company god or what. There also men make these machines. In the hands of experts your bike will back like new.

Use oil from bottle and that too only the Hero bottle that has TIDE WATER manufacturing. Service center cannot force you to change to barel oil.Look in manual it has been clearly mentioned that any oil as long as it confirms to 10W 30 grade and conforms to API SJ or higher grade can be used. No where it is mentioned to use even hero oil. But these idiots just for there profit propagate the oil as oils have heavy margins.

If your bike is not registered then you cannot claim insurance. However if the guy has paid then well and good.Make sure to change anything that has any problem or even has scratches on it. Will cost you 1k to 2k from hand but will be well worth it as yours is a new bike and any scratch will stand out as a sore point.

Anyways, like suggested. Claim insurance. You will get it on majority of parts you have mentioned. Those scratches on headlamp assembly wont affect the throw much. I have them too. I had everything changed, except the front cowl[was too expensive. Have a sticker covering it now]. I only had to pay 200. What matters is it was restored to showroom condition.

Both the minor kit and major kit are short in market. After KBX closed shops when part of it was bought by BYBRE and part by Bosch, the supply of major and minor kit has become very less. Since all new bikes come with BYBRE brakes, so company is not sending individual parts to market. However if you are getting unicorn parts then buy that as both are same.May be when you fell then you had put all the pressure on the key of your palm which had caused it to bent. You can use the replacement key provided with your bike. As for another key then you cannot make it from market as it will not open the shutter.I have tried my key on another new extreme in showroom and the shutter didn't open with my bikes key. That is one security feature which most of us do not know. For another key what you do is order the key with the key number and you will get from factory. If you have read the owners manual it has been mentioned that for duplicate key then as in Maruti cars you have to order new keys from factory with key number similarly in extreme you have to order the new keys with key numbers from company. It has been mentioned in manual. All the new extreme owners who posses the new digital model have a look in your owners manual. It has been mentioned in it.

I noticed this thing when I tried to open the shutter of my friend's xtreme but never thought that the shutter and key's magnet are calibrated.
It also explains why many xtremes have the shutters removed by the owners when they lose their original keys.
