My New Achiever !!
Bought on : 20th Aug 2009
Bike born in : Jan 2006
Price : 37.5 Ex-Showroom
Estimated OTR : 43 K (B'lore)
For Whom : My Uncle, resides in village near B'lore (Registered in my name the bike will be mine for about an year !)
Projected usage : Rural, semi-urban terrains.
Pluses : Super silent Unicorn Engine; segment best mileage,tuff-up tube, Halogen headlight, HH svc network, solid build quality, Low cost for sure !!
Minus : No disc, but my uncle never rides over 70 kmph and he rides in low traffic rural roads (good, bad and highways); No self; No alloys.

First Impression : Silent engine compared to my Xtreme, gear shift is very smooth compared to Xtreme, Ist and IInd gear feels like Xtreme, III gear onwards is where Xtreme rules !! Seating is slightly high compared to Xtreme, no disc means lower speed in B'lore traffic. For ~43K it's high value for money the bike was gathering dust in one HH dealer's garage, got the deal through some friends.

Dimensionally both the bikes are exactly same... the hight of the seat for hunk is few cm more.Originally posted by chidafn View Posthi guys!m planning 2 buy cbz xtreme!can u jus tell about its handling and comfort coz my daily run is of 40km and during test drive u cant say abt comfort wid so small ride!!plz help!!
both the bikes are OK when it comes to seating comfort as they have a harder seat... The leg placement for both the bikes are good and it will not trouble you back bone.....Passion as Profession

congrats man .. but may be u should have atleast taken the bike with self start ... as you said it's primarily for your uncle ... it would be more convenient for him with the self start ..guys..if you ever need blood or want to donate blood, please refer to this site :

@kaka, Right but there were just two machines in B'lore with two diff. dealers both were w/o self and dics. New model Achiever with Alloys/self/disc costs about 60K (but my uncle was impressed with my deal, he's very fit and is ok with it, more over his sons/workers will use it more)Originally posted by kaka View Postcongrats man .. but may be u should have atleast taken the bike with self start ... as you said it's primarily for your uncle ... it would be more convenient for him with the self start ..
First ride mileage (below 3500 rpm/40 kmph speed, 60% longish ride rest city drive) 124.4 kms in 2.5 litres (1/2 litre by dealer 2 litres added by me, bike stopped at 124.5 kms) ~49.76 kmpl
Very very satisfied

yes...installing kn filter doesnt void your bike's warranty...pickup is improved and power increases slightly...no i havent got upgetting done....the mechanic told that the bike is performing well and upjetting is not required...Originally posted by jeyessh View Postdid you do upjetting after installin k&n filter??
Even im thinking of installing k&n..wat are its advantages apart from sound?
can we still claim warranty?

Please do not give out such misleading advices. Warranty is voided. Upjetting is needed.Originally posted by rahul_agrawal05 View Postyes...installing kn filter doesnt void your bike's warranty...pickup is improved and power increases slightly...no i havent got upgetting done....the mechanic told that the bike is performing well and upjetting is not required...Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

If your piston rings inlet & exhaust valves doesn't wear out in next 10,000kms then you dont require upjettingOriginally posted by rahul_agrawal05 View Postyes...installing kn filter doesnt void your bike's warranty...pickup is improved and power increases slightly...no i havent got upgetting done....the mechanic told that the bike is performing well and upjetting is not required...
, if it does you require upjetting
its the hard way of learning things you see
Dude do read around the forum for more info, there are lots of info regards
to u need to upjet or not..
Run towards your bike
and remove the K&N or upjett your carb now.

@Vipin
congrats on the new Achiever, or I say congrats to your uncle.
Achiever has been under-estimated bike in many ways, it has one of the best pickups of all 150cc's, better mileage, very low maintenance.
its a perfect fit for low cost, high mileage, rural and commuting use.2007 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme

Thanks Riaz, after reading GSR rusting issue I feel like giving party to HH dealer who gave me this m/c for about 42K (OTR), the bike is really solid built and as an Xtreme owner I say Achiever is a one of the most underestimated bike, the power difference feeling is very little compared to Xtreme....after filling Shell premium the bike feels simply awesome !!!Originally posted by riazmomin View Post@Vipin
