I still feel cost wise and quality wise HH4T is safe choice ?
Yeh gulf is a good oil.Racoon is using it.

Long time back i was using Shell petrol and my engine noise increased.I don not know why.I used their unleaded petrol only.Anyway even if it did not make my engine CRY i will never use shell it hires mercenary's and kills people who oppose it.It is destroying nigeria by polluting it.Even CNN reported it.

Any ways can i stay on this for say 2 weeks as its just 4 days i have shifted to this one. Later i will shift to recommended grade.
Yeh, Gulf 10W30 has been really good to my CBZ-x. Outperforms the Idemitsu HH oil anyday! And cost is nearly the same (Rs. 200) and last around as long too.

And the Castrol crap (Power 1) cost around Rs. 300?! Amazing how people buy it!

Castrol = average, overpriced products with minimal tech detail and maximum marketing hype (of the weasel variety).

Sarban, really sick to hear about Shell's doings... but its only with Shell that it seems you can be assured about petrol quality. Almost all the PSU bunks cheat on quality and quantity. The service and crafty attendents are another issue. So here, I'm forced to use only Shell and one BPCL COCO. Everything else I'v tried does not match up. Even filling up air at other places is risky... they are almost always inaccurate.

Once i had given the bike to SC they poured in some cow piss oil in ma bike and the oil turned bad in 300Kms and the bike was not performing well so i have to change it immediately to shell 20W 40(I was on a tour). What a diff. i felt initially but the bike wont go past 100Km/hr.It would struggle from 90-100.Xbhpian's here scared me to change the oil ASAP so i am sticking to XW 40 now.
          Isin't the motul 300v is 5w40 grade..?

Go for Gulf 10W30...for CBZ-X recommended grade is 10W30 API SJ, JASO MA/MA2.

It all depends on how other feel about it. I would not stick to Sprinta, I was just experimenting on my bike. As I already said, There is no considerable difference. Rather stick to HH oils.

I am thinking of trying 5W40 once and conclude my experimentation.

Did not took from Hydbiker....but it came from him.

                      he he...

BTW, the Gulf Pride in both its avatars (10W30 and 20W40) is good oil.

                      • ^^^ But strangely it seems the 10W30 is labelled semi-synth and the 20W40 isn't.

Its a greyish bottle. IIRC, there is a small price difference between the two.

                              • My Achiever completed 400 kms, I am running in city traffic 60% and 40% I am deliberately taking the bike during mid-night hrs. to give the bike decent/fair run-in on open roads with almost nil traffic (mostly 4th & 5th gear 40-45 kmph speed). I found mileage to be precisely at 51.25 kmpl (speed)...avg speed I guess should be about 30kmph.

                                Some Downsides :
                                1. I found trip meter spring is gone, luckily it works accurately and 000.0 can be set by rotating the knob (it doesn't go to 000.0 automatically by spring action)
                                2. The idle speed is somewhat moody goes to 1600 in the morning, and 1400 in the afternoon but most of the times it remains at 1400. At 1600 engine 'sputters' but doesn't switch off.
                                3. I was used used to Ambi's DC, at low rpm on Achiever , we can't see road properly, but I'm getting used.
                                5. Rear brake is yet to come to life (going to do some hard brakings deliberately from hereafter)

Upsides : Awesome refinement, very smooth gear shifts, no vibes, Engine goes into sleeping mode at 45kmph 5th gear @ about 3300 rpm.(you can do meditation). Bike feels torquey, bike has segment best LET of Max.Torque@5000 rpm !! I'm loving my bike !!
