This is what many senior members here told me that once the tappet is set right you do not have to touch it for a long long time. One mech @ the SC told me not to adjust the tappet frequently .And the SC mechs are not the kinda people i trust easily they tell you all sort of BS.

After my recent visit to the SC i can see air bubbles coming from the gasket in the head part.I suspect they spoiled the thread again.I am fed up with this bike i am seriously thinking of selling this bike.

I was calling all the bike showrooms in pondicherry i think i will sell this and get a brand new uni for Rs56000 or even the 220 DTS-I which costs Rs 70100 in pondi(Pulsar 200 is stopped the showroom guys told me).But if i can solve this tappet issue and the rising RPM as a result of this problem i will hold on to the Xtreme.

If you get the tappets adjusted&then rip the bike at high RPMs, it will go loose again soon. Ride at around 4K RPM in all gears except top of course&then see for a while before jumping to any conclusions.
About the head gasket sealing, it is unheard of in HH bikes. Demand for a warranty replacement of gaskets&ask them to seal it well.
My friend's CBZ-X has no sign of even sweating around the head&has done more than 30K kms.

They listen everything and do the service job good. But I think they dont have technically superior guyz. But they are helpfull.

Another is Bhanu Automobiles, Kukatpally. The Erragadda one is not good.
This is huge one. So To get your bike serviced, You have to turn up early morning there. Else they wont take bike after 10am. They have got good supervisors (Manikanta) who is techncially good also. Speak directly to him. My Tappets issue was resoved here.

Another service center is at Blakampet, its a very small one. they dont take more than 8 bikes for a day since they have only 2 guys to service. But they do the jobs right. Got my friends super splendour there...all the pblms were resolved.

Another two are there, but I havent gone to them yet. I need to give my bike for service day after tomorrow. will chk out.

            And coming to sparkplugs...!!!

they dont go kaput so easily. they are very reliable. I am using NGK Gpower on my Xtreme.and it is good. But there is hardly any difference i feel now between stock and GPower. When ever I give bike for service, I put stock one and give it.

Why dont you joing the xBHP Hyderabad G2G. You will get many technically good xBHP members there who can guide you better. There is a G2G this sunday, its a HALEEM G2G :P. Check out the Offline G2G thread for more details.

sure i will check it out .. btw was having haleem while reading this

The fuel screw is located at the back of the engine head. On the left side below the fuel lever ...look straight you will find the screw . Positioned at the back side of idle screw .Small, golden copper in colour. ****The screw is horizontal type**** Diameter < 1cm . In the photo the arrow shows the location where the screw is

                • Sarban the SC guyz have screwed the head badly take it some nice mech in chennai and replace the head gasket, and b/w the bore and head there is a small rubber packing change that too. that would solve the problem.

And coming to the tappets yes mine was adjusted at 10k kms till date no problems ..

My bike has done 20.8k kms till date i have not faced such problems, to me the mechs is the one who screw the bike, the bike will never screw up the owner if they are ritely done.

My 20k kms report is still pending ..

I made the fuel little rich. I found the bike is running more silent. No big changes in pickup.

Some 5-6 i guess. It is not no of turns. But the feel With high rpm set ~3000+, You first make the mixture as lean as possible. The engine stalls soon. Then you start opening the screw slowly and together listen to the engine tone and feel throttle response. The RPM falls eventually but will be soon constant. At a certain point the engine noise and throttle will the most crisp vrommm.... that is the optimal point. The mixture if set little rich, will be better for higway riding at high speed. But for city riding the optimal point will be more than enough. If more mileage is wanted then lean setting is to be adopted Dont forget to reset the idle screw!!!

I did it because my HH service had put it on leaner side and my bike felt very sluggish at some 80 kmph. I would recommend you to continue with your current settings if you are happy. If you have to tune it do have a mechanic aside
