Replace oil with 10w30 or 10w40 if heavy highway runner. The thick oil won't do any good on an engine that is designed to run with thin oils. It's the same as you are running with low engine oil.

I need to replace the rear Tyre very urgently . How much does a new MRF Zapper cost ? Or Which is a good Tyre for CBZ. Also I feel that the rear brake (drum type) wears out very fast. What is the average life of a rear drum brake ? I have been using only OEM products so far. Is there any other brand of rear brake shoe that I can use ?

Go for MRF masseter or Michelins. Rear drum brake lasts depending on USAGE OF THE RIDER. It lasted around 17k for me , while it lasted 32k for my friend who is daily highway runner. Stock : ANL , Aftermarket : ASK. ANL is better.

I am unable to fine MRF masseter on MRF website. I might stick to Zapper only. When I use the rear brake, I can feel something rubbing against the inner side of the wheel. I hear a hissing sound too. Does this mean the brakes are worn out ?

            Finally my Xtreme's engine died @ 80.5 K.
Bike was not able to pull at all, as it was doing just 40 kmph @ 5K rpm in top gear [emoji36]

This was a tell tale sign of fried clutch plates.
When I checked the engine oil level, there was no trace of oil found on the dipstick[emoji16]

I had replaced oil just 1000 kms back. I immediately topped up with Servo oil to avoid engine seazure, and it took around 500 ml to reach minimum mark on dip stick.

Got the bike overhauled by my trusted mechanic this Sunday. FYI, this is the second engine overhaul of my Xtreme in 80K Kms. I really regret that I could not take any pictures this time, but you can read my post of 2013, when the cylinder kit was replaced for the first time @ 30K. This post is having all the images of old bore, piston and rings.

Coming back to present scenario, the clutch plates and block kit were gone for good as expected. But surprisingly there was no play developed in the con rod even after 5 years[emoji2]
As you guys know that there should not be any INSIDE-OUT play in the con rod. This is a real testimony to Hero Honda engines (Mine is HH CBZ Xtreme). I believe we could not expect the same reliability from current crop.

So, below is the list of replaced parts (All Genuine ones):
            1. Cylinder Kit
            2. Valve Kit
            3. Clutch friction kit
            4. Clutch plates
            5. Clutch center
            6. Clutch hub

Rocker arm set was replaced just a month ago, and timing chain around 6 months ago. Both were in good shape.

Now I'll be following run in till 1000 Kms, along with changing the engine oil after 500 Kms. Will keep you all updated.

my primary ride is a cbz xtreme 2012 model. I got some minor issues with the rid-ability of my bike. The height of the bike is the main problem for me. The vibration comes second. so here is my queries:

              1. Can i change the size of tires (both front and rear) to a smaller one so that i can lower the height? and how much it cost if i do?
              2. Do we really do anything to get rid of the handle vibration while riding?
pardon me if its noob question as i dont have any idea what to do in this regard.
I need someone to comment on this please.

                Hi guys.
I have a hunk 2008 model and done 40k on odo and this is my very first post on xbhp although I have been following this thread for a long time.
After reading the benefits of 15T front sprocket, I finally replaced with a aftermarket 15T sprocket.
The problem is my old sprocket has already done 8 to 10k kms and now after fitting this new sprocket chain makes a lot of noise, tak tak noise.
I have tried lubing it, adjusting slack, checked alignment. I'm thinking to replace with complete kit of old unicorn i;e 15/42.
                Any advice will be appreciated.

There will be not much of a difference if you put a 17" wheel and it not worth to spend approx 12000 for a pair of wheels and tyres. And the speedometer will give wrong readings. You may need to calibrate that too. One thing you can try is make a custom seat with lower height. For handle bar vibration there are several things to consider from tyres, handlebar weights, fork alignment etc and the condition of engine

You can put the old unicorn sprockets no problem.. but finding that will be an issue. When I enquired all shops and Honda parts said those are no longer available and now they are giving the 15/43 of current unicorn.

What's the recommend valve clearance for hero hunk and the spark plug gap??
                      I have adjisted to in:0.08mm and ex:0.12mm
But its making too much tappet noise..
                      So i reduced to in:0.06mm and ex:0.10mm
In this adjustment everything is fine . no startup issue,no reduction in top end power..
But still there is a noticeable amount of tappet noise even when the engine is warmed up completely..
Does anyone having idea whats the best setting for good power and less tappet noise??

The clearance you are using is fine.. are you sure it's the tappets making noise? Maybe the rocker bearing or cam chain. Check cam chain tensioner
