  • Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk

Update: I've clocked around 800 Kms since rocker arm replacement.
Engine is now super smooth and silent, much to my liking [emoji4]
I would also like to mention about Gulf 20w40 engine oil. I poured this grade for the first time in the current bore, because engine had started consuming oil.
Feedback: It just feels like any other 10w30, and there is no sluggishness at all. Even in this winter season of Delhi, I couldn't find out any issue with this oil. Most importantly the oil level is still holding fine after 800 Kms.
I think for older bore(>50K), there is no harm in trying 20w40, in case your bike is consuming oil.

usually i change engine oil myself but this time not able to open drain bolt because last time service center guy over tighten it, local mechanic open it by hammering. stock bolt 12 number was not available so i used 17 number bolt with washer.

This means the thread of your bike's drain hole is gone. Get the hole aluminium welded, machined and 12 no. bolt hole done.

He mentioned the head size of bolt not thread size.

If the threads and the engine casing surface around the drain hole is fine you should get a genuine spare drain bolt with washer(no. 12 bolt) fitted. No.17 head size bolt with normal no. 12 bolt size thread on it(if you are meaning so) runs the risk of over tightening and ultimate damage of threads in the engine casing. It is also interesting how a no. 17 head size bolt has normal no. 12 bolt size threads on it although you may find no. 13/14 head size bolt with normal no. 12 bolt size thread on it in the market. Get the whole thing/process inspected in another ASC.

Download Link for Servicing Manual of Honda CBF 150
Actually I was searching for Service manual of CBZ Xtreme over Internet way back in 2013, but couldn't find the same.
Instead of that, I managed to find the full version of HONDA CBF 150 UNICORN SERVICE MANUAL.

Both the bolts have same thread but different head sizes. 17 ones are used in passion splendor etc. 17 One is little shorter in length i think

You should stick to the genuine/original one.

                  • Hero hunk engine oil on spark plug

Recently i replaced my piston rings on 2013 model hero hunk and valve grinding was also done..
Initially the mechanic inserted mineral engine oil,at that time the spark plug colour was light brown, then after riding 180kms i changed the oil to motul 7100 fully synthetic 20w50 oil..
Then after 20kms ride i opened the spark plug n noticed engine oil sticking to it..
When i rev hard after engine warm even at 8000 to 9000 rpm no white smoke is noticed from exhaust..
Then how the engine oil came to the spark plug..
If anyone have any idea do let me know..

Faulty valve oil seals maybe. Check for smoke from exhaust after some hours of parking. And the oil you are using is very thick. Use 10w30 only in hunk/xtreme.

Were the rings only replaced or the cylinder was rebored too?
Whatever be the case, I believe switching to synthetic oil so soon was not a good idea. I suggest you switching back to mineral oil of 10W30 grade.
If there is no visible smoke from exhaust, it could be due to faulty valve seals as pointed out by Jithin.

I own Honda Shine 2008 model. I think it's called as Honda CBF 125M. Do you happen to have service manual for that ?

Today again i checked the spark plug, its back to normal brown now.. No oil deposit at all.. During startup on choke after 4-5 hrs of not using the bike very light smoke can be seen from exhaust if seen very very carefully else its unnoticeable..
