All those who are speaking of noise in idle then i think they have not heard engines of modded cars and bikes. That is not noise but valve clatter. It happens because the valves lift a lot and then bang back when the cam leaves the rocker lift. Since the high lift camshaft has stiffer springs for valves to return quicker at high speed so at idle the sound is heard as valve clatter. It is no way harmful or un pleasant.

In fact the sports model has little un even idle. But as revs climb the clatter reduces.

Its not a defect but effect of tuned engine. Only way that sound can be suppressed is by water cooling which the water jacket will absorb the clatter.

      Hi guys,
I want to install steel braided brake lines on my 2012 cbz xtreme.
Is pulsar220's brake lines can be installed directly or i need to buy some other brand?
One more thing. Do i have to change the master cylinder for better braking or the current will do?

Guys why does the back drum brake squeak like a rat caught on fire, every freaking time I press the brake lever. It has become annoying routine everyday when I take the bike out for the first time. I had given the bike for service last week but still SVC guys are not able to rectify it.

Pulsar 220 lines are shorter in length. U can't properly route it like the one as oe. Get the RS 200 lines they are longer than 220's. If u need furious bite then get the rtr master cylinder or the nissin master cylinder on cbr 150. Currently I am using rtr master cylinder and that works great.

Try opening and cleaning the brake drum.
If that is done already, then it could be due to worn out brake pads. Change them.

Hello guys, after 7 yrs and 65k kms of ownership, I have to rebore my engine. It's a little long story of how my engine was damaged. Last one month was like hell. I got mileage of 32-33. Earlier I used to get mileage of 48-50 in heavy bumper to bumper traffic. Had to replace carburetor diaphragm. Apart from reboring, valve grinding work will also be done. Accelerator, clutch and choke cables will be changed along with spark plug. I hope this works out fine, else I will have to buy new bike.
PS. Mine is 2009 manufactured CBZ xtreme.

                Hi folks,
i own cbz xtreme sports. i m currently using castrol and kept changing oil in every 3000 km's till now. i m a little confused at this point that the local service person kept saying engine oils need to be changed in every 2500 to 3000 km's at the same time the service manual says to top up in every 3000 and refill in 6000 km's. expecting an expert advice on this topic. sorry for my bad english

                  Stop using castrol.

Change oil every 2000 KM. Its better to use cheaper oil with shorter drain than costlier oil with longer drain period.

I suggest you buy Hero oil made by tidewater India co. or Buy Veedol Take off 4T 10W30. Both come in 900ml bottles, you will need 2 of them.

thanks for the clarification. i know its 10w30 that best suits for my engine but i was using regardless of its type. I wonder why it is mentioned in serivce manual to topup every 3k and refill in every 6k. forgot to mention my vehicle model is 2012 cbz extreme

It's a marketing gimmick. No mineral oil lasts that long. "Topup every 3K, relace every 6K" is to make customers think, "oh hero bikes are so maintainance free"

But we must replace mineral oils within 2k for a clean & healthy engine.

Not sure if your ASC did the job right.
Take the bike to a good local mechanic and he should be able to resolve your problem.

Posting after long time, as I'd nothing special to share
Today my Xtreme reached the 75K Mark!
Bike was sitting idle for last 4 months, as I was out of station due to some official commitments.
After this long lay off, battery was unable to retain charge, and I had to push start the bike in the morning
As per Sibun's advice I searched for SF Sonic battery but couldn't find it. I'd to settle with Amaron Pro Rider Beta, as my experience with Exide was not good enough.
Will share about it's performance later.
