Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
I dont know if the camshaft of the 14.4bhp engine and the new 15.6 bhp are same or not. Svc said the camshaft of old and new model are same but valve lock nut and spring etc are differentOriginally posted by psr View PostThe problem with Karizma was a high lift cam with higher compression which lead to noisy and un-refined engine...It had not been sorted out...The easy fix for this was to change the cam to Older design cam ,which was Honda designed....Collaboration with EBR was actually a catastrophe for Hero Honda....Hero failed to realize that track and road engines are made differently and design values of one cannot be exchanged for the other.....
Good Luck.

Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
The cam lobe height is invariably increased to give a higher lift of cam ,thereby allowing higher volume of air fuel mix to enter the combustion chamber...there are physical limitations and this can be done within 5% of design value...Further modifying the cam to give more lift or longer duration also messes up valve timing and overlap which is not desirable in a street machine...Track engines will benefit with higher top end while the FE and low to mid performance will be dismal....Originally posted by Krishna3450 View PostI dont know if the camshaft of the 14.4bhp engine and the new 15.6 bhp are same or not. The SVC are the right people to inform you about the compatibility since they have the tech specs....still if the cam profile is the only difference for achieving the higher power , but causes problems, backward compatibility to a lesser profile cam ie., OE cam of older design will be possible.
Good luck. When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

psr sir do you have any source to know what all parts of the 15.6 bhp engine is different from the old? I already changed camshaft and rockers on the third day of the purchase. Still some issues - Bike screams above 50 km/hr and engine knocking (krr krr sound )

Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Hello all.. Yesterday did a DIY fork oil change on my xtreme. It was a much needed work as bike crossed 15k after the last fork overhaul and i was getting no time to do diys due to my job. So finally took some days leave and decided to work on my bike.
For the last change i used valvoline oil and that was really close to the company specs ie, soft shocks so this time i searched for veedol oil but got endurance only. Endurance shocks are used in pulsars and they are on a bit stiffer side.
So after dismantling and draining the old oil filled in 155 ml oil on each forks and pumped them for getting the air out and fixed everything back and viola!! It feels good as new i was missing this feedback from the forks for a long time and it is now on a bit stiffer side and i am loving it..
No mechs can fully satisfy us than a well crafted DIY!! It will bring a big grin on our face

Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Following so many issues with my 2016 Hunk right from day one, hit svc again. This time they acknowledged the issues
.
1. krr krrrr sound on all gears especially on slopes
2. low pickup
3. harsh engine if ridden for more than 10kms
4. screaming above 50km/hr
The culprit was tensioner scrapping the timing chain due to over tension probably due to manufacturing defect. see the pic it was being grinted and mixed with the oil for last 1200kms.
Bits and pieces of the grinted tensioner was found all over the engine head
.
The cylinder and piston had light scratches.
Replaced items:
1.Cylinder
2.Piston
3.Timing chain
4. Tensioner
5.Camshaft and rockers were replaced at 200kms
After replacing all these back i asked the mech to check flow of oil pumping. It was slower than normal. Opened the clutch cover and found this.
The patient would have died if i was little more late to take him to hospital!
Cleaned the oil filter, rotor and other places where it was sticking and 1.2L oil was filled.
Result: All uninvited and unwanted shitty noises eliminated.50kms done after all this work.Gear shift are hard and clutch setting is same as before but not as light as before.
Thanks to the good minded mech and supervisor there. Reached there at morning 11am.Because they had few pending works asked me if i could come back on the next day. I being sleepless for many nights because of the condition of my bike was ready to wait until they are free :P No matter what time they take. But the waiting went on till 5pm at evening. In malayalam we say " Irunn verirangi".

The mech (abhijith) who was good at this was free and my baby bullo is ready to be diagnosed! They usually go home before but they stayed late till 7:30pm for me.
Moral of the story: Maintain good relations with all the people at SVC. Be friendly with them. Make good rapport with all from sales team to mechs to people at the spares
SERVICE CENTRE: Diya hero, injekkal, TVM
Meet Vimal, supervisor and ask for Abhijith (mech). Very experienced peopleLast edited by Krishna3450; 07-17-2016, 11:29 PM.

Which one will give stock soft shocks veedol or valvoline?Originally posted by Jith_in View PostHello all.. Yesterday did a DIY fork oil change on my xtreme. Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Always prefer a littler stiffer workout for the front forks: because it will in stability.
Under hard braking, the fork dive must be minimal, the bike should not skid off, or get unstable.
Sofet shocks just give a good cushioning feel, & nothing else! Too much fork dive.
