Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
I have completed around 50 kms since repair and bike is running fine so far.Originally posted by SatSon View PostGiven the bike to an ASC in Trivandrum. The bike had massive oil leak from engine head along with the pulling issue (not revving past 5k rpm) I mentioned.
Guys there told me that one of the engine bolts' thread is gone and needs to be corrected in lathe. They took on and half days and returned the bike to me saying carb issue also has been rectified. He was saying that carb's spring was not loaded correctly and jets were clogged. But bike had the same problem when I took test drive. I was angry and returned bike to them saying I want the problem to be rectified. They returned the bike today and bike is back to its glory per the short test drive I had.
They say the problem was with the timing - it was not set properly when the previous mechanic opened the engine head and cylinder to change the gaskets.
Engine oil and air filter was also changed this time. Hope the problems end here.
When I was talking to one of my friend, he was mentioning his friend's bullet which had the same problem and the culprit was wrongly fit Throttle position sensor.
Now I am confused - Was my problem really with timing or it was some other problem related to carb like TPS!
Will a bike with wrong timing run fine and smooth till 5k rpm?
What do you guys say?
Sibun - your thoughts please?

Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
My Cbz has done 59k and it finally got engine problem. Bike was vibrating badly after 45kmph. When I got it checked in the sevice center, they said the bearings are gone n need to e replaced and when they in opened engine found that the bore also has becoming weak and need the bore kit to be changed. Bike's still under repair, not sure how much it would cost for this. Any idea guys?

Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
My Xtreme has completed 71.2K. Since last couple of days, handle lock was not working. It usually happens when any one of allen bolts holding the ignition lock falls, and guessed the same this time as well.
Went to my Mech yesterday to get the servicing done. When he checked the allen bolts, they were in place and the issue was with ignition lock itself
Actually the lever of ignition lock was not coming out of it's groove, due to which it was not locking the handle.
The only option was to replace the ignition lock. I preferred to go for complete lock kit, to avoid carrying 2 huge keys
Got the new Lock assy for Hero Xtreme[35010AABH60S] for Rs. 1400 after 5% discount. This includes Ignition lock, shutter, fuel tank lid, seat lock and helmet lock.
The news keys have only 'Xtreme' lebel, as Hero dropped 'CBZ' name long ago
Old Lock kit
Used Servo 4T Synth 10w30 this time. It's API SM/JASO MA2. I thought this oil will be good for the scorching heat of Delhi.
Will share my feedback about this oil after riding at-least 200-300 Kms.
The spark plug shows strange reading. From one side it has gone black while from the other side, it's still looking white.
Maybe some AFR tuning issue? What you guys suggest?

Hero Honda CBZ engine problem
Hi,
There were extreme vibrations in my 2012 march HH exreme which has done 58k on odometer. As per the suggestion of my mechanic, got the bearings and bore kit changed for 6k but I can still feel some vibrations in the bike. Currently riding in lower speeds due to the running in period till 500km. Please advise what else could be the problem.
Thanks in advance.

Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
I noticed new Hunk in S.A motors Kazhakoottom, when I was there to service my bike.
It looks the same except those decals and inverted shocks.
And today I noticed couple of new ones on road. Though there are lots of other new offerings in the 150cc segment, Hero is still managing to sell the good old Hunk/Xtreme.

Didn't like the new graphics but on force silver hunk, the blue graphics looks cool.
Saw one at diya hero injekkal, tvm.

Re: Hero Honda CBZ engine problem
Are you sure you got the bore kit changed for 6k?Originally posted by md_minhaj View PostGuys please answer..
Because, the Genuine Hero bore kit itself costs around 3.5k rupees and there would be other parts also changed during bore kit change, like timing chain, valves etc.
Also, when you say bearings, what bearings were changed?
Was your clutch discs changed ever? At 58k I believe you should have changed the clutch discs (and springs if needed) as well.

Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Few years back, our Splendor's key got worn out completely and we didn't have duplicate one.Originally posted by Nikhilesh Ganesh View PostHi guys
Has anyone lost your key and got it done in the dealership itself or outside at local shops?
A local mechanic removed the ignition/handle lock set from the chassis and we took it to a key duplication shop.
They were able to make a perfect new key for us.
