Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Experiencing Strange Problems
When I start the bike , and turn the handle bar to right the rpm slowly rises by itslef all the way till 4500 RPMs. Has anyone experienced anything like this ? What could be the cause ? . I tried to get my bike serviced at unique bike service a few times. Nothing unique about them. They are just run of the mill service station folks. Nothing special about them.

The acclerator wire is getting pulled when you turn the handle. I had the same issue. Loosen up the cable and things will be fine.Originally posted by girimajiananth View PostExperiencing Strange Problems

Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Thanks a lot, I tried to adjust a nut below the throttle, but it does not happen. I tried to turn it clock wise and anti clock wise. The nut play is very limited. Am I doing it correctly. If not how do I loosen the cable ?Originally posted by devils_friend View PostThe acclerator wire is getting pulled when you turn the handle. I had the same issue. Also please check your choke is off and the idling screw is at correct position.Originally posted by girimajiananth View PostThanks a lot, I tried to adjust a nut below the throttle, but it does not happen. Adjust the throttle adjust nut to have more free play in the throttle. Check if this resolves the issue.Originally posted by girimajiananth View PostThanks a lot, I tried to adjust a nut below the throttle, but it does not happen. Like dineshaugustin mentioned, make sure choke is off and choke cable is not stuck.
You can try to simulate the issue by slightly pulling the throttle and choke cables individually and identify if it is a choke or throttle cable issue.

Keeping a check on mileage is always good and is a measure of health of your bike.Originally posted by Nikhilesh Ganesh View PostHi guys,

I am getting mileage between 38 - 45 in my Hunk. There are people who get around 50 as well. The mileage you posted is low for a Hunk. You would need to provide more details of your bike such as odo reading, mods done, recent repairs, usual maintenance etc., so members can provide their suggestions.

Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Well it has done 21k till now no mods done. Give it to service every 3 months. Repairs not much just the usual wear and tear chain, brakes and clutch. That is about it.Originally posted by SatSon View PostKeeping a check on mileage is always good and is a measure of health of your bike.

CBZ Xtreme giving less torque
My CBZ xtreme completed 30k kms is not giving enough pulling capacity while climbing in hilly areas or just a flyover, especially with pillion. I need to shift to second gear to climb in such situations. But i see pulsar 150 and fz (of my friends) climbing in 4th or sometimes 5th gears, with pilion. From the beginning my bike do not give enough pulling power but gives good speed. But in plains i see my bike gives equal or more power to pulsar or fz.
I service my bike regularly. Air filter and Spark plugs are replaced new and carburater tuning is done. I use shell ax7 engine oil. Please guide me as i am planning for trip in hilly area, with a pillion. I feel disgusted when my baby struggles in hilly areas.

Re: CBZ Xtreme giving less torque
Largely, it is the nature of Xtreme's engine. It is a high revving engine. Its power and torque are above 6000 RPM.Originally posted by aravind2193 View PostMy CBZ xtreme completed 30k kms is not giving enough pulling capacity while climbing in hilly areas or just a flyover, especially with pillion. In comaprison, a P150 delivers more torque in the lower RPMs.
In the hills, keep the RPMs above 4500-5000 RPM and your bike will not bog down.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.
Because everyone who passes, isn't a martyr!
