No! You gotta open it up and clean it the right way! Only then you can be sure.

There we go again! Anyway, this time I have proof - just check page 31 of your manual.

Read my lips - there is a centrifugal filter and it should be cleaned! But its your bike... its pefectly alrite to pretend its not there...

    • Holy shit i just checked the manual(page31) their IS a centrifuge filter. What does this filter do.
The oil filter has never been cleaned.Yes for the whole 11000kms,i just changed the oil.Could this metal be from the run-in process and not from the re-threading as the filter was never cleaned

          • Even that thing is a metal mesh screen and not a proper centrifugal filter. That screen can let through it things over 200 micron size. A good Centrifugal filter works for things as small as 40 micron!

            • Hydbiker sir even the mech's Assistant(mech was not their) said he touches the CF only when he opens the engine.Even though the manual says to CLEAN the CF in the 1ST,2nd,3rd service respectively.I have seen a lot of xtremes getting serviced they never do this kind of stuff.I insisted on getting the CF cleaned to make his point he showed me 2 engines that were being taken apart for some work. The assistant has collected metal debris from the engine both hondas.I almost had an heart attack. He said their was only one way these debris could damage the engine -if you have the habit of flushing the engine with Petrol. How far this is true i dont know.
So i will have to talk to the Castrol guys about the tilting procedure.

@Racoon nope it only has HH parts do you need any spare part and for what bike .

              • ^^^Didn't get that... flushing with petrol? First I don't think anybody ever flushes with petrol... not even safe. Diesel I have heard. But why would that create metal debris?

Spare parts... as mentioned - for TVS (Suzuki Shogun).

                  i guess u said, u own a registered karizma :-)
got a rtr. can help register it bro?
Try to get original paper of Apache 150 (if someones bike is stolen or broken try to buy the papers from him). As far as I know this is the only way to running more than 150 cc bike in BD though it is not legal. PM me if you wanna know in detail.

I am also noticing some people trying to sell RTR, FZ and bigger pulsers. But there is always some risk about those shady deals, so think carefully before taking any step.

PS: I never had karizma too, had a 250cc Japanese Honda LA custom in my garage.

Yesterday i traveled to chennai with a friend it was near impossible to keep the bike below 70KM/HR i kept the bike @90km/hr but it goes to 100km/hr just like that without me doing anything.Terrific heat management it kicks castrol P1R left and right.I wonder if the castrol guys even know what they are up against. If they dont change their pricing policy motul is gonna Decimate castrol in the premium segment.

@sarbanoxley: The oil recommended by HH for CBZ-X is 10W30 and MOTUL 300v as mentioned by you is 5W40. Does that do any harm to the engine as it is of different viscosity?
I am due for an oil change this month end, I have been using the Idemitsu oil recommended by HH till now and wanted to go in for motul. And also the the oil change for CBZ is at 6000km , so if I go for motul then what is the ideal time to chnage the oil?...also provide me more inputs on when to go for a oil change based on colour and thickness of the oil... thanks..

                        • Anyone tried CBZ Xtreme's LED tail lamp and rear body panel on a hunk. I have seen one today and it looked like a neat job. Is it possible to fit it directly

Since it is not the recommended grade, there is no telling what a 5W40 will do in the long run. So nobody can answer your question accurately. Its upto you if you want to risk using a thicker oil. Its probably ok to use it in the summer.

The 6,000 oil change is indicated only if you are using HH oil or couple other oils like Gulf and Elf in 'normal' riding conditions. It is not that all oils will last that long!!

You cannot tell accurately decide the drain period based on change in colour/thickness. At best you can tell tell if there is something grossly wrong like your oil is getting burnt, diluted, etc. Just follow manuf. recommended drain period taking into account your kind of usage or go for UOA.

You had the idemtsu oil for 5000kms.Do even ride on the road or what.Even CP1R does not last that long for me.I really do not know how long Motul lasts bro. but gurus here say it will take a long time to degrade. Its only on their advice i switched to fully synth. oil and i have never looked back.I really dont think it will harm your engine in any way.keeping the HH oil for 5000kms will surely F@#$% up your bike .Do not trust HH mate. You cannot judge the quality of the oil by its colour Once the ride quality degrades you would know no one have to tell u that i am sure u can sniff that out.Dont worry when my motul looses its shine i will post here how many kms it has lasted.

Please clean the oil filter and the centrifuge filter when you change the oil.
Do not skip this step and get the cleaning done in front of youRemember to drain the oil when its hot dont drain when the engine is cold .If you could take a snap of the oil filters that would be nice.

Seriously bro, My bike has now run over 20k and I have always changed oil after 5k and believe the Idemitsu that HH guys use doesnt thicken that much and there is not much difference in the ride quality too. Your comment is exactly opposite to raccoon sir's comment about using motul in the long run which leaves me confused. Does motul have any product with similar grades as HH recommended?

And as far the oil change thing I have never seen HH guys follow the procedure you suggested God knows whats in store when I open up my baby. I guess I'll have to get it done from some other mechanic. I'll sureely get some pics of the filters.
