Greases are not recommended for optimal chain lubing. They dont flow... and they will allow more dirt to stick to the chain causing significant damage.

If you have already applied grease... don't be in a hurry to douse it with oil... no telling what will happen! They will likely be totally incompatible.

Service centers often use old used engine oil... and thats the worst thing you can use.

Point taken wont allow the SC guys to use any oil i will take the oil with me

@Sarban: Thanks again. I think you can get a courier shop somewhere near the SS itself when you go to the town! I'll be waiting for your no.in anycase. Its a really big help, thanks a lot!

I didn't realize the no.bit-was too sleepy&moreover was going for a ride the next day!

BTW where are the HUNK owners

Probably standing on some road waiting for an Indica full of girls to come and say "we are looking for a hottie"

. So far I know 2 friends who bought the Hunk and both say they don't like it now. Apparently their mileage is somewhere just above 30.

I just came from tirupati .My first long ride on my xtreme

.Amazing mileage i get 50+ if i keep below 75km/hr.completed the whole trip with just 6 lt may be a little more

.All that twisted ghat sections taught me a thing or too about riding.Had a couple of scary moment on the hill

.Tried ramming head on with a bulldozer on the plains

(barely avoided a collision).The driver cursed me in some language that i didnt understand(good for him

).this is the route i took:
My house-kanchi-arakkonam-tiruttani-puttur-tirupati

@R15 sorry for the delay this trip i never saw it coming

.I wont keep u waiting any longer ok.Tommorrow i will go to town and get all the work done

CBZ X servicing

Hi guys,

I have a CBZX purchased in August, 2008, and has run 12800 kms. I need assistance from you guys regarding the following.

1. The spark plug/ air filter/ oil filter have not been changed as yet. The HH mechanic said these parts were all right. Should I still go ahead and change them?

2. The front disc pad and rear brake shoe were changed at 12500 kms (1st paid service). Is this the normal interval for dics/ shoes going bust?

3. How much time does it take for the disc pads to settle down? The bike has covered 300 kms after pads change, but I can still feel the vibes caused by the pad rubbing against the disc at low speeds.

1) Spark plug - change only if you find that it has worn beyond tolerance.
How often you need to change depends on your riding style.
Air filter - recommended change interval is 12,000 km. Better change, esp.
if you find it dirty.
Oil filter- AFAIK, you can clean it, no need to change it. You have to
clean the centrifugal filter also. Recommended at 1st 500 km and 6,000 km
thereafter. Cleaning this is v important. Get it done in front of you. Do
everything to void external contamination from getting into the engine...
that way the filters will stay cleaner for longer.

2) Not at all normal. Not if your use is "normal".

3) Clean away any grime/dust/etc from that area. If it dosen't help, take it
to the ASC.
