Hunk issues
Hi guys am a new memberon this platform from KENYA. I have a hunk. I bought in 2015 and it has been giving me good service till recently when a myriad of problems started haunting it. It started with jerks at 70-80km/hr. This was rectified by reducing the size of the jet in the carb, it was then followed by an engine seizure which I later learnt that the oil was flowing properly. I replaced the damaged parts was back on the road. Now the engine tends to loose power at speeds of 70 and above and also going uphill. What should I check? Thanks.

Re: Hunk issues
Did you check the air filter. If it gets clogged, the bike wont pull at top end.Originally posted by Simonyi wekesa View PostHi guys am a new memberon this platform from KENYA. I have a hunk. Mostly bad carb tuning, lean mixture. Tune your carb from the SVC or from a good local mechanic.Originally posted by shriramsau View PostGuys My cbz xtreme not start without chock in the morning even in summer season, please provide solution.

Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Dear members, My hero honda hunk 2011 model was running absolutely awesome till date when just 2-3 days back i noticed a strange problem and i am unable to understand why this is happening that's why asking your help and expert opinion.
The problem is, When i start my bike it starts smoothly and there is no problem idling or rev. Everyday in the morning i warm up my bike for 5min in normal RPM then i begin my ride. Now when i start riding my bike sometime when i change Gear it suddenly loss power (as if there is no fuel) but the tank is full. This doesn't happen all the time but it's happening everyday at least 1-2 times sometime more....
Now i've checked My chain/sprocket and changed the whole setup
I've checked my fuel line and it's completely ok
I've checked my air filter and replaced it.
I've checked my spark plug and it's absolutely ok.
Now please help me rectify the problem as soon as possible.
Thank you all.

Have you checked the Vaccum piston in carburetor?Originally posted by faisal3dfx View PostDear members, My hero honda hunk 2011 model was running absolutely awesome till date when just 2-3 days back i noticed a strange problem and i am unable to understand why this is happening that's why asking your help and expert opinion.

I would suggest that you revert to stock jets as running a smaller jet cause the mentioned issues.
Also it would be best for you to post a picture of the spark plug so that we can determine your state of tune.
Another reason for resistance to accelerate could be that your carburettor slide has starter to stick, but first it would be best to revert to stock setting.
SAI Unit, costs over 1k to replace, let it be, unless you're considering a SAI delete.Originally posted by faisal3dfx View PostAnd one more thing i want to know that, what is that thing on hunk which is situated under the gas tank on left side whic has three pipe, one is from the valve top cover which is a ss pipe, one goes to the manifold and other one goes to the air filter box. I hope you gyus understand what I'm talking about. Please let me know what this thing is and what it do. Thankd all.
Once the motorcycle has covered a few km's and is adequately warm, activate the choke. The motor should stall, if not then you would need to troubleshoot to find what's causing your motorcycle to run lean.Originally posted by shriramsau View PostGuys My cbz xtreme not start without chock in the morning even in summer season, please provide solution.Last edited by ashwinprakas; 06-29-2018, 04:14 PM.Motorcycling Experience:

Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
1)My Hero Xtreme vibrate after speed of 60 shown to service centre but they says it's normal
2) at ideal my rpm needle flacuate like 300 rpm flacuation is there but at higher rpm it's not
3)2-3 second delay of acceleration while acceleration
4) 5 k rpm 5 th gear it goes to 62 speed
5)I am using 10w30 Hero engine oil.
6)my odo I 57k and don't know about past service and some tik tik noise from engine head I talked to SVC guys but they told me this is normal and as they said they adjusted tappets but no change in sound is seen
7) I want to measure compression of my bike can svc guys do that compression test
Other vise no missfiring nthing is happening it goes top speed of 109 km without any issue acept vibration
Pls sujjest me for the issues happing to me.
My spark plug after 160 km its one side cockalaty coloured and other side it still white in colour

Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Since you're already at 57K on ODO and out of warranty, I would recommend switching a 20W50 oil like Castrol activ. Spark plug issues? I think you need to get your carburettor mixture checked for any abnormalities. 160kms is way to less for such an issue to happen. AFAIK the tappet noise from noise often accompanies with carbon deposits on plug at times. Does that happen for you?Originally posted by Jigarsu007 View Post5)I am using 10w30 Hero engine oil.
About the part where you talked about idle RPM, did you mean 3000 instead of 300? No bike goes to 3000RPM on idle under normal adjustments. Hero Xtreme tends to vibrate on high speeds and it's a known thing. There's no solution to it really but if you're facing any discomfort, I would suggest checking the above and getting your head cleaned.[My Motorcycles]

Rpm flacuation at ideal is 300 needle flacuate between 1200-1500 rpm constantly and tappat adjustment not doneOriginally posted by Bismaya View PostSince you're already at 57K on ODO and out of warranty, I would recommend switching a 20W50 oil like Castrol activ. Is 20w 50 is good for me or not as no bore kit change no oil seal is change after 300 km oil colour is as stay as new
For head cleaning where to go SVC or local mechanic

Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Get it cleaned from a trusted local mechanic. Castrol Activ 4T 20W-50 (MINERAL OIL) gives good performance. Change it every 2500 km, don't add top-up unlike the Hero 10W40/50SJ ones. That will give you a better performance atleast. I've friends who use 20W-50 in their Hunks/Achievers which uses the same engine as Xtreme. I've personally used 20W-50 from Castrol in my brother's Unicorn. It performs really well. The shifts are really smooth and you don't feel any engine noise when down-shifting. The smooth spot hits at about 4500-5000rpm for shifting and you can barely hear the level shift sound. If your oil color doesn't change easily and remains good, it means that your engine is healthy. It might just need some carb tuning for mixture (spark plug issue mentioned earlier) and while head cleaning isn't done unless you've issues even after carb's adjusted, get it checked with a nice local mechanic first. TBH, Hero SVC isn't what it was supposedly in the old days. Hopefully this helps you to diagnose the problem somewhat.Originally posted by Jigarsu007 View PostRpm flacuation at ideal is 300 needle flacuate between 1200-1500 rpm constantly and tappat adjustment not done
