Re: Honda Dio, Activa and Aviator
Guys, i am getting an Activa 125cc soon mostly by May end or June 1st week.
Can someone please post a picture of the specifications of the bulbs and relays used in the Activa 125. And also the location of Fuse / Relay box.
Thanks in advance.

probably a bad "cone-set" (i.e. steering stem race/bearings)Originally posted by DIO View PostNow a new problem has arised whenever i turn the handlebar it makes an uncomfortable sound. If someone can help me on this it would be appreciated.
only an inspection can point out the cause. go to a mechanic and have them check it.

Clean the carburetor , particularly the fine holes on the idle jet .Originally posted by Freak inExile View PostMy scoot is not idling properly, often stalls during riding when throttle is closed completely. ODO is little over 20k kms now ..

Re: Honda Dio, Activa and Aviator
0.12 - 0.14 mm looks ok for exhaust valve, intake ought to be less than that, say 0.05 to 0.07 mm;Originally posted by s1d View Postiirc the clearances should be between 0.12 - 0.14 mm for both on the 102cc activa/dio.
what do you think?
AirFilter(OEM-stock) is 2k kms old
SparkPlug(CR6HGP) is 5k kms oldLast edited by Freak inExile; 05-08-2016, 03:02 PM.

What's the spec for intake/exhaust Sid?
as for the stalling problem, i suggest you try to increase the idle a wee bit by turning the idle screw.
if that doesn't solve it, then you might as well get the air filter and carb cleaned and adjusted correctly.
At 20k, it would be a good idea to change the air filter (best to change it every 6~8k max) and spark plug (if it hasn't been changed in over 15k km) Anuj_Gupta , try to get the clearances adjusted with a feeler gauge and let me know what is the value it is set at. i know a lot of mechs do not use a feeler guage
with a feeler gauge you will know if its at the recommended values and still causing an issue.

Valve clearance was adjusted in Jan and now again two days ago. Earlier after adjustment, it used to work fine for months but this time even after adjustment, problem has become less severe but still its noticeable.Originally posted by s1d View PostFirst get the valve clearances checked and adjusted to spec. Also if the spark plug has done over 20k km, time to replace that as well.
Do these two and let us know how it works out and based on this we can proceed further with checking other things.

Problem.- it takes hell lot of time to start now days, once started, no problem in riding, you can still do 80kmph with it, engine works awesome. But only problem is of starting it.
Too many kicks and then it starts, what is the problem?

Re: Honda Dio, Activa and Aviator
you will need to remove the clutch side cover and the 'bendix pinion' thingy will be located on the top left corner hidden under a cone shaped cover. if you watch closely, you will notice that cone shaped cover in the video belowOriginally posted by curve_king View PostAn old 2006 activa needs a bendix pinion (gear) change.
Was thinking of replacing it myself. Cannot figure out its location
Even checked that dio(lead) manual once to figure this out but got nothing.
Is it an easy job ? Any special sized tool required ?
Enjoy the videos and music that you love, upload original content and share it all with friends, family and the world on YouTube.
I suggest you get it done from a mechanic.

Re: Honda Dio, Activa and Aviator
Thanks, mate.Yes it is under the panels.Originally posted by s1d View Postdont paint directly over the rust. you have to first sand down the rusted area, and then apply a coat of red oxide followed by a coat or two of spray (available in cans) or enamel paint - you can buy these stuff at almost any hardware store.
btw, where exactly is the rust ? If its under the panels and not visible outside, you could apply a thin layer of grease around the area that's prone to rust. get hold of the nulon grease spray..it isnt as thick as regular grease.
And yes, you can buy just the side stand spring from any local spares shop.. should cost you around 20 bucks.Last edited by DIO; 05-12-2016, 04:08 PM.
