I bought the FZ horn,High (there are two types of FZ horns,High and Low). Its minda branded, got it for 140rs from yamaha ASC also wired in a four pin relay and now its just perfect, not too loud but still way better than the stock horns.

When I told him it was for the dio he told me to buy the stock FZ 16/Fazer horn but sadly he didn't have any in stock ,he also told me its a direct fit and no relay is needed. Then I asked about Minda/roots/hella brand, the guy said both yamaha and bajaj uses "Minda" as stock horn.
(Honda uses some other brand, mine is "Blowell" brand).Need to pay a vist to yamaha ASC soon

you can also check out other good aftermarket brands like roots, minda (these are usually available at some spares shops) or hella. These brands cost anywhere from 200rs up to 800 for a single/pair of decent horns.

Make sure you use a relay and most mechanics will be able to do the installation in less than 30 minutes. And use a good quality thick wire (the ones used in general house wiring), buy it yourself from an electrical shop.. the thin wires that auto spares shops give are not very good quality.
So here are the things you need:
    1. New horn (try and get the pulsar 180/220 horn)
    2. Relay. two types commonly available 3pin and 4 pin. Mostly they sell only the 3 pin one which is ok.. but the 4 pin is better (water resistant and lasts longer)
    3. Good quality wires.
    4. Switch , in case you want to keep the stock horn and switch between the two horns.

Will it effect my battery???as its only a 3ah battery unlike the 5ah on the older models.Has any one ever tried this???

    Cons:
    1. The biggest Cons in Honda Activa is Shocks. The Spring Loaded Hydraulic Front is very outdated as its competitors are are providing telescopic front. It is very tough to ride in bad road conditions as we have to focus on not to jump into any pot holes as it my directly shock your back.
    2. Design. Honda could have modified the design to some extent as the design look bit boring since I am seeing the same in today Activa 3G's. Activa 125's back is very bulky which is completely non-sense and the pillion rider would feel bit uneasy to stretch the legs for a travel more than 30 minutes.
    3. No modern day amenities like Digital Speedo, USB Charging, Parking Lamps, Disk Brakes etc.

I understand the fact the Honda Activa is now the highest selling two wheeler in the market today. However Honda have to think of updating the models. Atleast they should bring up another variant of Honda Activa with all these amenities by offering at a sightly premium price.

They should also think of providing 12inch wheels (to survive in Indian Roads), Disc Brakes and Telescopic Suspension at least for Honda Dio as piaggio has made a bigger move of brining in Aprilia SR 150 in Indian market.
    Nice review machi.
If you want 'better' front suspension, disc brakes.. they have the aviator for that
The rest of the gimmicks.. digital console, usb charging.. are just that.. gimmicks. Honda has very good engines (or rather the same engine that does duty on almost all their scooter variants) and their products are already priced a bit more than competition.
btw, i own a 2007 Dio that's done around 63k km now and still runs fine. unfortunately due to a couple of crashes (nothing major) recently, some of the body panels have given away and they are asking 14k for a complete set of panels . I've used some duct tape and clamps to hold them down. The engine though is a gem.

    Hi

I had been riding a Honda Activa 110 since 2010 which crossed 75000 Kms and I wanted to share my view on it. Here is my review:

    Pros:
    1. One of the best Scooter engines in the market which honda it leveraging for past few years (Got to know all the 110cc scooters in Honda's stable use the same engine). I had used my Activa to the core and people are surprised to see how a scooter has survived beautifully to such extent as I used to ride 60kms a day.
    2. Excellent pickup as it can climb up the speedo to 60kmph easily. The Engine Refinement is also good.
    3. Good Metals and Plastics in the build. My Black version has still not faded out.
    4. Combi Braking System helps to stop the activa with ease.
    5. Decent lighting as I am able to ride it even in dark. Still not changed the factory bulbs.
    6. I used my Activa to communite to office even in Chennai floods 2015. I was surprised by one incident. While I am back home I was struck in floods and I was driving in running water. In a particular place my activa almost half sunk till seat and its silencer is completely sunk and got off. I has to get down and push it for almost 1 kms to cross the flooded area. I thought it is not going to start again until it has been serviced by spending few thousands . But for my luck I tilted the vehicle to drain the water from silencer and kicked few times. Its started to breathe and i was just raising the accelerator for few mins to get the engine heated up and I started to drive and safely reached home. I had to spend only few bucks for the service and its proved to the best survivor as many other bikes failed to start in the same flood.

    Cons:
    1. The biggest Cons in Honda Activa is Shocks. The Spring Loaded Hydraulic Front is very outdated as its competitors are are providing telescopic front. It is very tough to ride in bad road conditions as we have to focus on not to jump into any pot holes as it my directly shock your back.

whatever brand you use, make sure you do an oil change every 2500~3000km.
10w40 , 20w40, 10w30.. any of these grades will work just fine in our tropical weather.

I would suggest you give Motul 10w30 scooter LE oil (275 INR)a try.
I recently changed the engine oil on my 2013 honda dio from Honda oil to Motul and have to say its better than I expected.
