  • 1. You wont get 2 Roadkings for 25K. If you do - and if they are in good condition- that must be the deal of the decade.
    A decent RK will be 15-20K range and good ones are in 25K bracket.

    2. Giving away a YBX AND A CL2 for a RX100 is utter crap I feel. Dont be so naive - your CL2 looks to be worth at least 15K(blore price even after taking into consideration that papers are out of date) and your YBX might get you another 15 I guess. That is 30K. And paying 30k for a RX100 ? You will get a neat 135 4speed for 20 - 25K in Mysore.

      • My Friend has a RX 100 and he looks for some performance upgrade and some modifications.

        Kindly let me know, what are the options he could go for ? At first he is keen in installing K & N Filter and followed be some upgrades.

          4 speed can be converted to 5 speed no problem there, parts needed are...

          5 Speed block piston kit - Rs. 4800 (this is the new price) but difficult to get nowadays.
          5 speed gearbox - Rs. 3400(old price), not sure of new price
          5 speed head - Price unknown, impossible to get new, used is next to impossible
          5 speed carb - rs. 2500 brand new, almost impossible to get
          sprocketing should be changed to 16/37, but aint necessary
          With all these mods I recommend changing the crank too, new price is rs. 2800 again not available.
          New bearings advised which cost 800 rs.
          new oil seals cost about 150 odd rs
          new gasket set cost about 170 rs
          labor is free for me cuz i do all this myself, else anywhere from 800 to 1800 is normal

          Now that you cant get the 5 speed head, and if you use a 4 speed head your compression goes really low, what do you do, as sandeep said shave and mod the head, find me one guy who can give you the right kinda job a on a head, calculated squish width, angle, MSV figures, centering of squish, combustion bowl volume, squish clearance.

          The only person who can do that right is Ron Chinoy.

          Secondly very difficult to find a 5 speed carb, my advise use the 4 speed carb, it is way better for a 5 speed than the 5 speed carb.

          I know this because I have run 8 different carb setups on my RXs, not counting another one which I have for which an interface plate is being machined.

          Malaysian RXZ engine specs are

          Bore x Stroke(in mm) = 56 x 54
          Top end mating is different
          head is different
          cdi is different
          exhaust is different
          no way u can fit that top end on indian bottom end
          u cant fit whole engine in indian chassis cuz of the width, unless u screw around with the chassis.

          What you can use is the indonesian RXK topend, costs about 10500 INR for the barrel alone.

          I would rather get one ported by Ron than spend that kinda money on a normal barrel.

          I know it puts out 18bhp @ 9000 rpm but it has different reeds, head, and a 26mm carb.

          Best mods one can do an RX is RDD Digital CDI.
          UNI air filter
          High compression head from RDD.
          OEM Yamaha fiber reeds.

                    a repaint in original colors.


                    things that i noticed:

                    The bike had original brakes till i got then changed then lately like 4 months back that was really stupid of say amazing. and there was barely any thing left on them but still they were not screaching.

                    i dont remember how did i not notice them while i was getting the alloys.

                      Guys,sincerely need your help!!! I own a yamaha RX135, recently iv been having problems with the electricals. The battery just got damaged no wonder how (probably due to overvoltge)..
                      I replaced the rectifier and also got the battery replaced which was in warranty but again the battery died in a few months. Till now i was using the bike without the battery but recently my starting coil got damaged. I fixed a new one in but within a week again the starting coil has died. The local mechanic suggests i redo the wiring entirely. I am really not sure of this. Can anyone tell me what is the probable cause of such a problem?? Or what part of the electrical system needs be checked? Also how much would it cost to solve the problem?
                      Realy looking forward to an expert opinion before i take any further decision.

                        Since you say that you have replaced the battery, the rectifier and the coil, and still facing issues, I would suggest you recheck the wiring and coil completely. Get the lighting coil checked as well to make sure the lights don't go kaput later. Whatever electrical work is required for the RX, get it done from a person who knows in and out of RX.

                              What have you done to change the electricals to 12 volts, mine is also 6 volt and wanting to convert it to 12volts, have you changed the complete magnet assembly also, with other ancillaries or you have just changed the rr,flasher, bulbs and battery to 12volts.

                                hi....i'm new to this.but i've a 1991 model rx 100 in completely stock condition for 23 years....it's my fathers and it now comes to me. so i want to modify it. please suggest what can i do yo modify my bike and what parts needed for modification and where can i modify my bike. i live in bhubaneswar and please provide the estimation of money require for complete modification of my bike.
