    2. Yes of course.
    3. Getting a new bore piston kit will cost you ~ 3300 rupees incl of tax in bangalore for a 5 speed.

      thanks for the info.

i should be getting my bike back from the mechanic today. clutch plates and few cables have been replaced. need to ride and find if it is all right.
i think 've bad luck with these mechanics.
front fork oil was replaced (or refilled) but still the front suspension dikes out (more so than before).
i've already spent close to 4k after buying the bike(it is a 4speed RX 135) and yet to replace the cosmetic parts (indicators, side covers etc). hopefully i should get it right atleast this time.

got my bike back yesterday evening and looks like this time i've been lucky. the bike rides really smooth and pick up is great. as far as rebore is concerned 'm not really sure of it.
          @Sandeep
is it possible to go for complete RX 5 speed make-over (with 5 speed gear box too : at present it is a stock RX 135 4 speed ) instead of just replacing the stock bore kit. how much more would it cost?

Yes - you can get it converted to a 5speed.

You need to get the 5speed bore pitson kit, the 5speed head (or get your current head shaved and modded to improve performance), 5 speed carb (not absolutely required..but preferable) and finally the 5 speed gbox - you need the 3,4,5th gears (drive and driven) plus the chain sprocket set from the 5speed. Costs about 10K for all that - including labour.

              I have converted my RXZ 4sp to a 5sp.

The Malaysian spec is said to make 18Ps. Getting the bore piston kit is not enough. You need to get the head as well. I don't know how much it will cost - its ridiculously high though.

                    1998 RXZ 4 Speed
                    2001 RX 135 5 Speed

The RXZ had the following mods on it till the time i was riding it.

RDD Stage 2 street ported 5 speed barrel
RDD High Compression head with O ring mod
RDD Digital CDI ver 2/3, had tried both on the bike.
Ported RZ 350 dual frequency reed cages.
Wiseco silver cage top end bearing
                    UNI Filter
                    Carburettor - VM28/VM28 with dave f mod/TM28SS
Expansion chamber, not the right design for the setup.
                    4.0 - 18 Michelin M45 Rear tyre on a CBZ rim
Complete frontend from a Pulsar classic with spoke rims.
                    Sigma BC1200 speedometer.
                    5 speed gearbox.

It used to read 135 psi of compression with the exhaust port being 4.5mm higher than stock.
Bike was insanely unrideable most of the times, clocked 134kph on the speed gun with the non matched chamber.

The bike is under a rebuild right now, with some more mods in the pipeline.

                    The 135 5 speed.

Complete engine rebuild about 1000kms back with new crank and block piston kit, the head is modded by RDD again, runs the RDD CDI v2, UNI filter, dropped the cat con for the chrome pipe. Pulsar classic tachometer, sigma BC1200 speedometer. Bike reads 170 psi of compression is bone stock where ports are concerned and did 118kph on the speed gun.

In the pipeline are ported RX reed cages with special yamaha fiber reeds from the US.

I am the official distributor of the RDD RX CDIs, and if anyone needs those can pm me or mail me on torqu3e AT gmail DOT com.

                    • whats the difference between uni & k&n filter .is uni better for two stroke where i get the this filter and whats the cost

                      Comment

                      • Technically you should not be running knn on a 2 stroke because of the negative pressure pulse reflection off the end off the knn filter.

UNI is the best thing u can run on a 2 stroke, and it has 1 micron filteration abilities.

                          • Got my bike rebored to 0.75 over size. some mods done on my bike.

                            1) stage 2 porting.
                            2) RZ reeds.
                            3) VM-26 carb.
                            4) RXZ speedo set up.
                            5) custom made foam filter.

In line are a sigma, and disc set up preferably RTR or gladi set up, and a chamber some time later.

Completed runnin haven't had much time to test its cappableties only thing tested is bike maxing out at 7500rpm in 3rd gear and clocking 90kmph on the speedo, bike pulls clean like a slate in every gears, its become a scary devil now, i simply can't imagine what will be the performance after i add on the chamber.

jetting the bike was a big task to me i learnt so many new things, finally was able to set it up right, needle at the bottomest position 20 pilots 175 mains no fluttering in any gears or any rpm's.

The stock clutch is unable to handle this set up and acting funny at times, need to change to fibre clutch plates.

All said and done i would like to thank atul for providing me this beast set up you took much less time and provided me this, kudos man.

                              • Let me demistify a lot of your doubts and misconceptions, I have been into RXs for the last 7 years now, own 2 of em, details for both on the page before this, have done enough research on em to know what all is possible on them and what aint.

Lotta you people may not know me and might think i have only 4 posts so am a newbie, you can search for the same nick on RDDreams:Indias First and best Automotive Forum and you will come to know.

4 speed can be converted to 5 speed no problem there, parts needed are...

5 Speed block piston kit - Rs. 4800 (this is the new price) but difficult to get nowadays.
5 speed gearbox - Rs. 3400(old price), not sure of new price
5 speed head - Price unknown, impossible to get new, used is next to impossible
5 speed carb - rs. 2500 brand new, almost impossible to get
sprocketing should be changed to 16/37, but aint necessary
With all these mods I recommend changing the crank too, new price is rs. 2800 again not available.
New bearings advised which cost 800 rs.
new oil seals cost about 150 odd rs
new gasket set cost about 170 rs
labor is free for me cuz i do all this myself, else anywhere from 800 to 1800 is normal

Now that you cant get the 5 speed head, and if you use a 4 speed head your compression goes really low, what do you do, as sandeep said shave and mod the head, find me one guy who can give you the right kinda job a on a head, calculated squish width, angle, MSV figures, centering of squish, combustion bowl volume, squish clearance.

The only person who can do that right is Ron Chinoy.

Secondly very difficult to find a 5 speed carb, my advise use the 4 speed carb, it is way better for a 5 speed than the 5 speed carb.

I know this because I have run 8 different carb setups on my RXs, not counting another one which I have for which an interface plate is being machined.

                                Malaysian RXZ engine specs are

                                Bore x Stroke(in mm) = 56 x 54
                                Top end mating is different
                                head is different
                                cdi is different
                                exhaust is different
no way u can fit that top end on indian bottom end
u cant fit whole engine in indian chassis cuz of the width, unless u screw around with the chassis.

What you can use is the indonesian RXK topend, costs about 10500 INR for the barrel alone.

I would rather get one ported by Ron than spend that kinda money on a normal barrel.

I know it puts out 18bhp @ 9000 rpm but it has different reeds, head, and a 26mm carb.

Best mods one can do an RX is RDD Digital CDI.
                                UNI air filter
                                High compression head from RDD.
                                OEM Yamaha fiber reeds.
