many rx series bikes owned by in my 12 years of biking.

1.My first rx is Rx100 1994 model, purchased as second hand in 1998 and ride it till 2001 as totally stock no modification. In my opinion highly reliable and good bike for learner or beginner at that time.

2.Rxz 4 speed 1998 model as second hand in 2004.totally in bad condition, rebuild it to like new condition.cost of rebuild is almost 14 k INR.but my Rxz is looker at that time cos of white paint job.totally stock no modification at only sprocketing for better FE.

          3. my third rx is Rx 135 4 speed 1998 model as second hand purchased in 2008 may for dirt bike project but but resale the bike cos getting better bike in same money.

          4. my fourth rx is Rx 135 5 speed bought in 2008 july.engine is totally stocke and in good condition need no work at all.

          before rebulid.

          after rebuild.

Exhaust upgrade : custom made chamber for better performance.

          Cdi upgrade :not needed.

Light coil upgradation : may be in future.

RIM conversion :looking for rear conversion from 18" to 17" or 16" for dirt bikes grip on tracks.

Disc brake upgrade :Front shocks and disk unit is of pulsar dtsi.

Body modification : front and rear mudguard is of fiber.handle is ROD type, rear shocks of gladiator's.
          NOTHING FOREVER,EXCEPT CHANGE.

          Without opportunity,TALENT is nothing.

dont know about other cities but in bangalore we are still getting all the spare(almost all) from dealers and other shops as well. right from mirrors to piston kit we have spares.
and what i have heard is the parts were produced for next 20 years by company since it was selling like hot cake.

                  O.T
guys there are two RD 350 (one HT and one LT) assembled by the showroom mechs. they are for sale, both costing around 1.2 lakhs. the bikes are in bangalore in front of Forum mall.all the parts were sourced by the showroom mechs. and they will sell the bike barnad new with all the servicing

I had bought a totally shot RXZ 4speed - 1997 model and have converted it to a 5 speed - changed the gearbox. Its still running the 4speed head and the the 4 speed carb but you couldn't make out any difference between this and a real 5 speed.

Somehow she likes the catcon a lot - it gives her more kick than with the chrome pipe !

I have been so in love with this bike that for the last 2 months I hadn't even touched my Karizma...

                      Rx100

                      XBHPians
Am sure there are lot of RX100 owners here. having a dedicated thread for a classic bike is much required.
                      To start off things,
I own a Nov 91 model Black RX100. It is my third bike , first two being jokes of kinetic. i am the fourth owner of this bike and the ODO says 45000 after the reboring by the second owner from the showroom mechanics. that was way back in 2000. as of now i have been restoring things on the bike as i bought the bike recently in mid october.

Post your RX100 ownership experiences here.

                          I own a 1993 yamaha RX100

                          Mods done

Some desi Sh#ty alloys(but they look good) - RS. 3500.
Electricals changed from 6 Volt to 12 Volt - almost Rs. 4000
RDD cdi- RS. 2200 (i think its worth it)
                          Pulsar analogue Speedo console :
tacho working and giving acurate readings. not sure about the speedo it self. - Rs. 1200 (meter labour extra)
MSR toe gear shifter: Motocross style- Rs. 900
would be getting fibre reed today
                          RX135 Seat - Rs. 400
DURO 100/90 Tubless in the rear - RS. 1600

                          Mods done and taken off

                          BOX swing arms

TVS victor : did not feel any difference.

CBZ : the bike handels like a bullet on the corners. but the straight line handeling was real good.

but reverted it back to the originals

                          history

got the engine rebuild first time in 2006

second time it was done in 2007 (my bad did not check the 2t oil and i was coned)

                          further mods planed

                          Engine rebuild
                          conversion to 135 5 speed

change wheels to 17 inch (from r15 )

                          rear and front disk brakes

                          a repaint in original colors.

                          things that i noticed:

The bike had original brakes till i got then changed then lately like 4 months back that was really stupid of say amazing. and there was barely any thing left on them but still they were not screaching.

i dont remember how did i not notice them while i was getting the alloys.

                          THIS IS A OLD PIC

Hi, This is my list of RX's and their mods

                              1996 RXG - first owner
                              1983 RD350 - third owner
                              1986 RX100 > 2008 RX165 drag bike - built from scratch

These bikes are simple. light, reliable..inexpensive crotch rockets built for thrills
My RXG has been the oldest of them ladies..Has served her time very well and even after 12 years of ownership I'd never sell this bike..A lot of emotional attachment and the fact that this bike is my everyday commuter

The RD was more like a dream come true when i started earning..My weekend ride. Cant afford the fuel bills though :P But I manage to blast out on the highway on weekends for sure

The drag RX started off as a RX100 lying in my friend's backyard. I convinced him to donate the bike to me and got the rust bucket home. The bike had drowned in the 26th july deluge and was a total mess..muck and water even in the crankcase..It was all falling apart. Thanks to my guru Motorhead, I had enough balls to pick up the bike and rebuild it completely. That was the real idea..which eventually started off as a smalltime drag bike project on a shoestring budget..and has become one serious hobby now..done a fair shair of my miles..off road, city rambles, and highways..and i can say that i can never graduate to any 4 stroke ever..I would definitely ride them but can never get used to them..2t is just a part of my genetical makeup now

                              Mods tried so far:

tons of filter kits, chambers, many different types of porting, chambers..into carbs now, and finally managed to procure a keihin PWK 28 now

the RX could use some good lighting, and better brakes..A home made DIY 90/100 lighting kit did the job for me, and a lighter India Nippon rotor did the job for rotor lighting.

Made my own home made filter kits, chambers as well..Home grown stuff works well with her must say

All in all..Im in love with the RX series..I take my bikes with me to the grave
