        NICE road, nice speeds....

Although the bike is rock steady, crosswinds were an issue hence I was not able to get a clear shot.

          finally united..!

          hi,
          finally today i got my rx135 from mysore.now i have a list of questions/doubts
          to start with:

does the lean burning engine affect the engine in any way. the mechanic in mysore said that he has set the engine to burn lean so that it returns around 45-50 kmpl. i can feel that the engine is restricted but does it lead to any damage to the engine. ('m certainly not looking at the mileage aspect - need to retune the engine as soon as i can get a good mechanic. or is it something that i can do on my own?)

can anybody please suggest a good mechanic for rx around JP Nagar or Jayanagar area of bangalore. how is Castrol Bike Zone for general service?

i could take only single pic from my mobile.

OT: can anybody tell me how to embed the pics in a post like above.. i don't wan't it in thumbnails

Bike World in Jayanagar 7th Block - near Popular Bajaj Showroom. Ask your bike to be attended to by a mechanic called Rakesh. That fellow knows his stuff about RX's better than the rest there.

thanks psycho and Sandeep . i think both of you are referring the same place. 'll find out this weekend.

how much 2t oil is sufficient to mix with petrol. right now 'm mixing 40ml for 1 ltr. is that fine. i find the engine is running very harsh/rough. one of the mechanincs asked me to add some more 2t oil to the tank. should i do so?

3% is what is the recommended oil:fuel ratio.

So 30ml per 1Litre is optimum level for a standard size bore.

Too much oil can also cause problems. Too little oil will also cause problems. If you are not using your oil pump and if your engine is standard size bore...use 30ml. If its first rebore ..a little more ...and so on..

Actually 2% (ie. 20 ml) is what is recommended for most newer bikes... esp. if you are using a good oil. Mebbe a bit more if you are running-in. User more and you will have various problems... not to mention you'll be contributing more to pollution!!

thanks for the info. well i've no idea if the engine has been bored. need to check with the mechanic for that . actually it was all fine before the air filter assembly was replaced and the bike was made to run lean (the bike was with my brother for initial 3 weeks).

                        newer bikes ? Like ?

                        The last 2 strokes ... Shogun,RX135...?

It says 3% in the manual and 3% on the fuel tank lid for all these 2 strokes. Did it ever reduce to 2 % ? I dont think so.

If bike runs lean, engine will be running hotter - you will be getting more mileage but its not good to run lean.

                          Yup... like Rx, Shogun, etc.

Most literature I'v been thru says 2%. I'v seen this printed on various bottles of 2t oils also. However, if the maual explicity says 3%, then of course you gotta use 3%.

Suzuki Shogun manual puts the oil consumption as - 1200 km/lt (average). In real, consumption is way less on my bike. Less than 2% also, I guess.

@ sandeep : what is the exact capacity of fuel tank of Rx 135,without dripping how much in liters is possible to carry in the tank.
                            NOTHING FOREVER,EXCEPT CHANGE.

                            Without opportunity,TALENT is nothing.

IIRC it is 11L with 1.5L reserve included.

                                Engine Bore

                                Hi,

I have few questions about the engine bore (RX 135)

                                1.how much 're-bore' would cost
2.do we need to replace the piston when rebore'd
3.is it a better idea to replace the complete set up instead of rebore
                                RX 135
