I would suggest you take ur carb to another mechanic and show it. The low pick up might not be a carb problem.

Was the whole change worth it? Does it need a 7ah battery to operate?? What about the recharging rate of the battery??

    Hi, All,

I am in the process of resurecting my brother's 2006 Gladi. I have purchased some of the spares from Yamaha authorised spare outlets in Mapusa and Panjim, Goa. The details are as follows:

    1) Brake pad kit Rs. 130, 2) Race bearing kit Rs. 294, 3) Shock oil Rs. 116, 4) Front shock dust seal Rs.92/pair, 5) choke cable Rs. 27, 6) Clutch cable Rs. 74, 7) Throttle cable Rs. 67, 8) Cylinder head gasket Rs. Rs. 95, 9) Gasket magnet side Rs. 20, 9) Gasket crank case Rs.34, 10) Rocker 'O' Ring Rs. 24/pair, 11) Spark Plug NGK CR7HSA Rs. 70, 12) Spark plug cap Rs. 70, 13) Rear brake shoe kit Rs. 250. These prices are inclusive of VAT. 14) Castrol 4T 20W50 oil ( 1 ltr ) Rs. 260. 15) Front shock oil seals are not available here, but managed to get look alikes for Rs. 175/pair. It was a rip-off.

Unfortunately, I kicked the bike and jammed the piston. ( I suspect there was water in the engine oil ). I have to open the engine but spares like oil seals are not available. Have to place an order for the same. A set of chain and sproket with Yamaha packing costs Rs. 1200.

Can any one on the fora help me in suggesting genuine spare dealers in Goa other than Yamaha outlets please.
    Thanks

It has crossed 24K on the odo now and gave a decent mileage of 52 to 59 based on how gentle was i to the throttle. Basically, i have never crossed 80km/hr in my gladiator since i always used to ride it in chennai traffic. From may 2011, i have gave it to my brother and riding a RE TBTS. Quenched my thirst for long drives in this bike. Since i drive mostly in city and my brother drives a lot for his business, planning to give the TBTS to him and getting my old war hourse back by the end of this month.

In my gladiator, I have changed my battery to Amaron MF one and changed my bike tyres (back one is CEAT GRIPP - reallly good).

If any of you have done some modification to your bike like changing it to DC and having a HID installed in it, having a mech ABS installed, any performance mods etc, let me know. Because i am very much interested in to and planning to do that in my bike.

Yeah the clutch should be fine. I changed mine recently at around 39,000 kms. It was just a little hard so i decided to change. And i have not heard of that theory before. But i do not think there is too much truth in it.

If you do not find your clutch plate to be excessively hard or clunky, I do not think its a problem with the clutch. The speedometer needle shivering will have to be fixed by giving it to a meter expert. Even mine used to shiver for sometime. For all you know, maybe a little greasing will be all it needs.
