  • re: Hero Impulse ownership experience

Installed the big bore kit (185cc) from Joel yesterday. Initial runs are encouraging. Will keep posting the findings as I take the bike for bigger rides.

Customization on my impulse so far includes rear disc brake, removable 15 ltr fuel can holder (was done for my ladakh trip last year) at the back and now 185cc big bore kit

The pics are already there on page 76 and 77 of this thread (rear disk brake, fuel can mount, saddle bags etc). For big bore kit, it doesnt have any different look as it fits perfectly in place of current cylinder.

Yes there was some modification required to get it installed but it was delivered to me as out of the box solution. So things like fabrication etc were done by the mechanic who installed it.

Cost of the big bore kit was 6500 and it gives around 20% jump in performance. So roughly 3 bhp increase in power. If you add K&N RC 1060 filter with re-jetting + iridium spark plug with split fire ignition wire then you might get more power, but I have not tried this so cannot comment.

So far I am happy with the current power boost and will add another boosters only after getting confirmation about durability in long run of this kit.

I don't know how @Shadowz got it done but I got a simple looking fender and clamp (custom-made by local welding guy). Instead of regular fit, reversed the front end to back and fitted .... Mud Guard costed me Rs.300/- , custom clamp Rs.150/- and screws Rs.30/-

Are you talking about the rubbery thing on Shadowz bike shockers??? It is called Fork Gaiters

Its positive of-course. Generally jump is positive isnt it? FE I have not checked yet.

If I'm not wrong, Fork Gaiters protect the shocks from Sand or Dust when riding in tough terrain ...
