Have any of you guys made some mod to have any hook to carry bags? (FYI - the helmet lock under the rear fender wont be good to carry small bags as it may scrub on the tires)

        ---------------------

Here i have found my solution to the day to day need on this impulse, the "carry hook"

I have a custom made hook welded to the saree guard and it very useful for the visit to local shops for purchase .

It costed just Rs. 150 to make and weld this thing to the saree guard. If you do it, dont forget to unplug the spark plug wire before doing any weld job to your impulse.

        Have a nice day

It only looks interesting, but is of no major concern. I tried to find the importance of this "Fork Brace" on several other biking forums n web sites. But none of them advice or strongly recommend to install it. As the people never noticed any major difference in handling or performance with or without it.

IMO, only people who will notice the difference are the people who actually made an investment in it....as they have to justify their money spent on fork brace. I wont buy it.

You may be right, but then it seems that these fork braces will benefit bikes with skinny, long forks (like the Impulse!) the most, by limiting the flexing/twisting movements. This is especially true of the Impulse since it has no mudguard/bracket (and therefore no bracing) at that point.

A friend told me that the JC Moto braces above cost around Rs. 5000 though, so I'm not sure if these benefits are justified at this cost. I'm interested in finding out more though, I will not yet rule them out. I do wish they were a couple of thousand cheaper and I would have bought them without a second thought.

Reproducing the text from the link above here:

Mumbai-based jcMoto though has designed a brace specifically for the Impulse. It clamps on perfectly (as the picture shows), and it can be customised for clearance above the front tyre as well. The fork brace, which is machined from a 12mm slab of aluminium alloy 6063 for added strength, comprises two clamps for the fork legs, four distance collars to compensate for height and the brace plate which bolts on the top. The one featured here is finished in anodised silver, but it can also be ordered in black.

jcMoto, which also makes braces for nearly every bike on sale today, can be contacted at [email protected].

This is exactly what companies play upon - Fear. First they'll show a fancy device n instill fear that if u dont get it u will end up messing ur bike n for a biker that's a nightmare. Im not convincing u not to buy it, but I wonder how hard r v gonna bump the suspension to need these? I have seen hardcore bikers n pure dirt bikes with long suspension like Impulse,(Impulse's suspension is not skinny at all) without these braces. Even if its available for 500/- It has to first justify the use of it then i'll go for it. I dont deny the fact that it's an added safety for the suspension BUT charging that kind of money for this trivial brace is blasphemy.

If this wud b such a path breaking device then company wud have installed it by default, after all they spend millions in R&D.

Also, if u know a good fabricator, show him the images(u get other pix from web) n am sure he will b able make it for u in couple of 100s.It may not have the finishing or fancy name but u'll get what u want.

                              Hello guys,

This is my first post in xBHP Forums. after waiting for membership approval for almost 2 weeks, it was approved this week.
Was very eager to post, So first let me welcome myself

Been following this thread from past 15 days. Read it twice..

Got my bike registered on 17th July (Photos will follow after i take them)

There are many thanks in order in this thread

                              Firstly
@surya111, @dragon_rider and @vinvk --> Through their posts, letting me know that Sai Motors, Bangalore was openly telling customers regarding the discount.
Same day i read the posts, went there and booked the bike (13th July) without even test-riding. Saved me almost 9k.
Had earlier gone to Max Motors, Bangalore early this month, where the quote was 85k and no Test Ride.

Next thanks to other creative people here for their mod works
