What happened to the carbon fibre vinyl? And what are the steps of fitting it?

        Hey guyssssssssss..................

        Whats uppppppppppppp??????

        Sorry been out for long........

So much is happening here. well happy to c so many Impulsers here sharing everything they have.....

I stil remeber a hundred pages (or so) back on 99th page there were 99 likes (which i refered as co-incidence) & a fellow-impulser (@viks) had replied that if the info shared here has is qualitative then 'LIKES' will be raining......

Today i felt those words were TRUE...

And yes My Dragon is returning a sweet 56+ Milage for a liter.

Guys i want to share a small info of how to get a milage like this...

        > Try staying inside 50-55kmph range
        > shift gears at every 10 km increase in ur speedo meter

        (for example - 1st gear - 0 - 10
        2nd gear - 10 - 20
        3rd gear - 20 - 30
        4th gear - 30 - 40
        5th gear - 40+ )

        > tune it at a expert mechanic...

Well those are the things i did and doing.....

Hope this info reaches u all out there.

A small request to al u impulsers out there..... even if u find 1km diffrence in ur milage after following these steps plz do reply to me.... with a quote of this mesag....

@harshmane - How are those knuckle guards fitting????

Guys u know wat..... just inspired from the idea of helping other in JAI HO (movie).... A dear friend of mine (@surya) Helped me with knuckle guards as i had no idea wher to get. i wanted to pay him for dat (sorry bro if im embarassing u here. plz forgive me if unknowingly im doing so) but he dint accept it. although is was not a big amount..... so i thought of doing something dat makes me feel i said thanks to him.....

So i helped a friend @harshmane from ahmedabad) who had asked me to get from bangalore on my visit to gujrat for a vacation. so i got him a pair of knuckle guards and gave him. so i felt my thax got its worth.........

JJJust a small teeny tiny request......if u get a chance to return the favour n dont say thanx - Instead help somebody who is in need...

if we help each other like this then i dont think ther wil be any issues at all of any kind and this IMPULSERS brotherhood wil go on forever.....

        Hope this idea will work.

        Happy Riding.

@pitbull, i see the same behavior with my recently bought (used) Impulse too. Basically i guess we should get into the 2nd gear much later than in other bikes.

Idle RPM should be around 1000 - 1200 (normal)

        Try tuning the idlying screw

i was facing same issue. my RPM was somewher between 2300 - 2500... the HERO service people could not find wat the fault was so they ordered a new carburetor from mangalore or me n dat day was my bday n the spoilt my entire day fixing dat........

Any ways. if ur idyling doesnt reduce even after tuning properly then go check up carburetor at once. tel them clean it n put or else change it...

            Hey guys,
Just a newbie on the forum here.

I got an Impulse few months back and I am real happy with it.

So far have clocked in over 4500 km and took it for a long trip (600km one way).

As for mods, I have peeled off the stock stickers (just want to be different I guess) and covered the tank with carbon fibre vinyl

More substantial mods are on the way and I will keep posting pics and stuff here.

I know that the issue of "weak" front brakes has been raised in this thread, however I have not seen anyone suggest using steel braided break hose. Anyone has any insight on that?

Over the time riding my bike, I have noticed that on occasions when sudden breaking is needed, the front brake could use more "bite".

IMHO, the fact that long front suspension absorbs a lot of breaking power should be compensated by steel braided break cables to add that "bite". Does that make sense?

Maybe I missed a post somewhere, but where does one get handguards? I went through all local showrooms, but nobody has them.
                  Thanks in advance.

Guys can you help me with name, number or address of a good mechanic for my impulse carb tuning in Mumbai, preferably western line. Went for a long ride of 300 kms and felt the tuning is not right. Throttle dose not open smooth on high rpms and i feel jerks and hiccups like we feel when reaching reserve. Mahim ASC guys tuned it last time but they messed it. Fuel economy is not improved even though they tuned it towards leaner mixture. Bike also dose not start with self start with just a delicate push. I have to open throttle with the start button. Symptoms of lean mixture.

                    Guys thanks in advance.

Workshop manager of Mahim ASC is transferred to mahalaxmi and this time servicing was pathetic at Mahim.

Need to service my bike for satisfaction.

I ve just completed a 3000km ride spread over 3 weeks on my impulse in the North east (assam arunachal Meghalaya + sikkim n bhutan). My bike did extremely well in mud slush snow river - crossing n bas roads for 100s of kms. I also had luggage viaterra claw n cramster tank bag....no breakdown at all (I was carrying all spares n footpump too). The bike doesn't squeak or rattle even after all the abuse.

Power is not an issue anywhere (except in straight highways). Infact 150cc ensures better fuel efficiency therefore tank range of 400kms. Important when petrol bunks are far n few.

The bike looks good even when dirty n grabs eyeballs everywhere. Esp from police and army, so everyone wants to talk to you ( n not check your papers!). I m sure you know what this means....

Impulse costs 55,000 on road! Just get it as a second bike if you already have an RE or large cap bike.

Impulse with a new steering! Renthal bar is so light yet much stronger than the earlier one..... gives so much more confidence and control while r iding....
