Pulsar carb spares are impossible to find in kolkata Wellington or mullick bazar (secnd habd markert even!)
And bajaj spares are easy to get!
I had to buy a brand new one
Wats wrong with this one? Maybe we can help you fix it

It gets stuck every now and then... Dismantled the carb for cleaning yesterday... And found the slider smoked... And the rubber pad also not in good condition...

Wrong info, Hunk and extreme carb differs from acheiver and unicorn as former uses 28 mm carb and latter uses 26 mm carb. For Impulse check the model of carb whether it is 26 mm or 28 mm and then you can search for it from unicorn or extreme parts.

Does any of the rubber diaphragms or seals have any hole?
          Smoked slide can be cleaned.
Use toothpaste and a scotch brite tongently clean the carb slide....should look blueish now. Assemble everything back together after drying.
I hsd this issue my carb slide used to get stuck and the engine revs didnt fall. I cleaned it with toothpaste and it worked fr a few weeks till the problem came back. Then I had to buy a carb anyways......
Luckly bought a pulsar 180 second hand carb for 300rs + gave my old carb:P mullick bazar ki jai ho.
And yes hunk and extreme and even dazzler and trigger hae different caebs
Unicorn and aciever hae same carbs.

I had the same issue with my impulse's carb. Even after cleaning several times, it persisted. Finally I had to replace the carb. I'm not sure if the slider is available as single spare. But anyway try asking at Diya auto (Kollam) if they have vacuum piston for impulse's carb available or whether they can order one.
At first I tried with a BS29 carb from pulsar 180 as replacement but even after a lot of calibration, didn't like the feel as much as the original carb, also, the BS29 was a little too big as the chassis came in way of it, causing the carb to stay a little angled. Finally I was tired of the experimentations and ordered a fresh carb.

there are so many impulse still taking rest at so many agencies all over india without getting sold . almost two years already gone.so what should they do with all these bikes?will any one take a new impulse which has a production date of 2012 or 2011??..(there are almost same 20 impulse at one of the main agencies near my locality)..all the money blocked with these and they are all in a hurry to sell it anyhow. so this is the best time to bargain....any one may get this bike below 55k or 60..sure

Oye hoe 45k kms is a lot but still below the average life of a carb.
Carb parts are a nightmare to source buy a new one.
                    MAy I suggest you something?
My carb used to get very dirty.... and reason was awesome fuel quality
The slide was black! And diaphragm was getting hard.
My mechanic made a normal fuel filter,,, he packed evenly spread cigarette buds in the pet cock filter of my bike (without paper covering it)
And he said they dont deteriorate or burn and are very fine.
My carb never got dirty thereafter!!!

Unfortunately I had to change the pet cock or petrol lock whatever you call it since the knob broke...
Couldn't find that mech again and couldn't do this mod by myself and I dot smoke so no connection with cigarettes......
Old mech was smart I guess.
I dont have pics unfortunately could use the mod for 15 k kms only...

                    Now back to your issue
Trust me buy a new carb bro.. and stock one.
Also try to add fuel ditergent or injector cleaner for cars to your tank
100 ml in 1 liter on the tsnk and runn the bike till fuel finishes
This usually getd rid of the black desposit in my bikes carb slide automatically!

                        Sold my Duke200 today.
Would be getting an Impulse tomorrow. People are calling my decision weird but i guess Impulse offers way more freedom than duke does. I wish to do big tours on it...untill a bigger cc Impulse is launched.

Any things i required to keep in mind after buying and how is Impulse on touring?? A a little detailed perspective would really help.
                        Cheers!

                          I guess you did,
Impulse is a good touring machine ,agreed it wil take you everywhere
But the engine is a let down for highways
You need something thatcan cruize at a 100 all day long without stressing the engine out.
A zma would have been a better choice.
D200 has also good highway manners but crosswinds unsettle it.
I do think its a mistake but hey you may enjoy the impulse!
                          Its all to ones taste.
                          Imo
You should test ride quite a few bikes before settling on one.
If you want a tourer then there are better options than the impulse
(Not saying impulse is a bad tourer, its a good touring machine but then its a better offroader than that!)

Replaced the Piston Comp Vacuum inside the Carb.. ASC guys did it.. but the throttle response is still a problem.. Doesn't rev above 6K.. They say that it might be because of carbon dumped up inside the Engine Head.. It needs to be opened & cleaned...

                            Any advice guys??

Had the same problem recently, replaced the vacuum piston in the carb, and all is well since then, carbon deposits shouldn't cause a slow revving engine i think, could be clogged jets or float valve

hai gopu .........i too had same power loss with my impulse in low gears .mechanic told me it is the valve problem and it has to be checked......but searching a lot in the net i found that the problem was with carburettor slide. i bought unicorn slide from honda dealer and it was exact fit inside the carb. but slide has only one hole in bottom since impulse has got two holes . but i dont feel any power difference after fitting.any how i am going to get it drilled and make a small hole same as impulse......never try to clean the slide ..simply change the slide.......no need to buy the needle.....needle in the carb of impulse too fits exactly with honda carb slide.....have a happy ride..Click image for larger version

ID:	1880065sorry impulse lovers..since i have to use this machine in monsoon season ,i removed fly style mudguard..and fitted a practical mud guard which really protects my feet and body from "mud"........

@ ankitvile never ever think that impulse is more powerful than duke....but its a good bike with normal 150 cc power...you can use it on any terrain ..no problem since it has more ground clearance. no companies in india provide steel wheels at this price range. total dimensions of the bike is amazing compare with other bikes (when you sit on this ,you will come to know)....no back pain even if you ride long hours ...but never try to test motocross jumps with this bike ...since it has very thin front shocks....engine is same as unicorn ,hunk, cbz extreme..so no worry about engine parts in future...but other body parts i am not sure......chain and sprocket, brake pads, cables, carb, available in the market .....last but not least.......never ride impulse as a motocross bike...........you may regret
