[QUOTE=bavlo;1057744]it seems we are going to have a tough time searching for spare parts and accessories for impulse. i broke back left indicator and called four Different ASCs but no one has it in there stock.

please can someone share a list of important parts that we may require specifically for impulse and which we can not get from after market so that we start stocking them before hero moto corp withdraws its little available support for impulse completely.

Also source and keep swingarm bushes,
          Brake liners and springs
Clutch wire acceleror cable and fork nuts maybe even front forks.

          My advise?
Njoy the bike as is for a few years
Honda will come up with the crf 230 soon and ktm with the 350cc off roader....
Bajaj will make a discover for that
And somday a jet powerd discover will also be there
          divyansh....

Its in Dehradun...road leads to Mussorie actually a detour not the main road usually taken.
Are the RVMs different?. I didnt had any idea. I bought a new impulse from the showroom today.
And a query too. I didnt got the handguards either. Where could i source one??

Thanks pal. That will surely help. And sole reason for me biying Impulse was to go on tours on a dirt bike that had good offroad capabilities. And mountains are my usual roads so avg speed @40-50kmph can be attained with almost any bike. Duke etc is good too but what impulse offers is...good kmpl figures...offroad capabilities and easy to mend bike. Duke with a sensor or a minor electrical niggle can create shitload of problems in a no mans land. Impulse on the other hand is air cooled 150cc carburetted easy to mend dirt bike. And thus i bought it.
I today did 60-70kms of complete mountain offroads. Ive started to love every bit of it.

Have fun bro, the Impulse will take you an get you out of places most other machines won't, but the steering head bearings (cone set) gives up pretty easily considering its off road intentions. The impulse is fairly low tech compared to the duke, but unlike many people think, there aren't that much common parts between the Impulse and the other Hero/Honda bikes, so availability of parts may bog down repairs. I waited 45 days for a front brake disc (got it finally) couldn't find the brake pads, had to make do with CBZ-X ones (edges cut off, coz they are longer) and couldn't find spare indicators, I've fitted the ones on the Hunk (looks better). So, get spares in advance, enjoy the ride, the machine will always put an ear-to-ear wide grin on your face...

Switching to synthetic oil has its benefits. I've been using synthetic oil (Mobil 1) in my Impulse for the past 6000kms and I found the engine smoother and quieter at higher revs. And due to its gearing, the impulse do revs higher at lower speeds (5000revs doing 60kph). Instead of going for 10W40, go for 0W30 because 10W40 is thicker than 0W30, so do not exceed the viscosity index of 30.

Would be getting an Impulse tomorrow. People are calling my decision weird but i guess Impulse offers way more freedom than duke does. I wish to do big tours on it...untill a bigger cc Impulse is launched.

Any things i required to keep in mind after buying and how is Impulse on touring?? A a little detailed perspective would really help.
                        Cheers!
I did the same too. Sold off my CBR250R within 3months of ownership! Everyone who knows me as a biker asked me - why down grade? but, I recently finished a 3000km ride in North East India - most of it on bad roads thanks to my Impulse.

I got mine for 58K on-road in Chennai in Feb. I met someone who bargained even harder for 55K! Even my sis' active costed more with all accessories.

Maybe second hand one would be 55k, but its not that easy to find coz the bike is not very common.

Asked so many hero dealers in kolkata all have one reply,
85k aproxx.... delivery will take more than 4 weeks no ready stock
I feel I should buy it in chennai and register it here,
                          Bengal dealers are the worst,....
11 years ago took delivery of a p150 it was the first gen pulsar and a very premium bike then and they had charged for 1 liter petrol also. Here even today if you go to buy a cbr 250r also the dealer will treat you like crap.
Only polite dealers are in probiking showrooms....few dealers have even asked money for bike test rides

Yes, WB dealers are horrible. I was in a showroom with cash in hand ready to buy a bike, but the guy would not let me test drive it before buying it! Well, it turned out for better that I did not buy that bike, otherwise I would have never got an Impulse.

Hi guys ..........hope you are enjoying with your horse (IMPULSE), yesterday a faced a serious issue in my bike , it's SELECT switch on the digital meter is not working and my speedometer console is stuck up with trip A so i can not change it to its main distance .Anyone knows this is a meter problem or wiring issue or i have to change the whole speedometer.

                                ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

yes i have used this motul fully synthetic 10w40 and i have already crossed 4000 kms , its doing fine. It is more stable at higher speeds and gear shift is more smooth even after 4000 kms ,only problem is its drag and pick up ,its slow comparing to 10w30 engine oils but it's good not best and i think it can go another 4000 kms looking at the quality of mobil after 4000.it costed me 750 at a local shop. So you can give it a try.ENJOY
