Re: Hero Impulse ownership experience
The grade of oil recommended for the hero and even honda engines in 10w30, 20w50 would be too thick for his ride, 10w40 is still ok, hence he said 10w40.Originally posted by kusmaker View PostWhy 10w40 man and not 20w50, can you pls elaborate some benefits of 10w40. over 20w50.
You csn use the recommended grade for your ride from the 300v lineup if its available that is..

What i have readed is once you choose any good quality synthetic oil high temperature issues are not of that much important over selecting a viscosity grade, it actually become more important what brand of synthetic oil one person is choosing, some brands of fs oils are low in quality and have flash points only slight higher than normal oils, but technical aspect apart Motul is a very renouned company plus they have got the experience of the motor racing at there back so that is why you are seeing this smoother shifts and rocket like performance, and one should share his experience his thoughts here without any hesitation that's the whole point of being on this site, thankyou my friend.

The grade recommended for my bike is 20w40 so i think i can go for 10w40 grade although it's very hot at this time of the year in delhi, or i can look out for 20w50.Originally posted by Divyanshp150 View PostThe grade of oil recommended for the hero and even honda engines in 10w30, 20w50 would be too thick for his ride, 10w40 is still ok, hence he said 10w40.

Re: Hero Impulse ownership experience
Got a higher & broader handlebar...and handleguards too. Will install them tomorrow.
And out of the blue front disc started to make a squeaking sound today. 1000kms on the ODO ( 20days post purchasing) and this got me thinking. Opened the master cylinder and found the oil level below the minimum mark. Another SVC's shitty job and ill maintainence. Im getting a brake oil bottle tomorrow.
Also im wondering to get the bike serviced and maintained at a local friend's workshop hereon.Code:https://www.instagram.com/ankit_himalayas/

dirt on disc pads ....pressure wash them if possible.
Also switch to dot 4 brake fluid but be sure to drain all the previous oil.
Use shell advance ax7 10w40 if you are past 5 k on the odo.
Get centrifugal oil filter and pump cleaned, keep clutch cover gasket (70rs) handy. If tappets are set loose its goodtime to get them adjusted. Use a feeler gauge.. apart from this that honda engine is bullet proof

Re: Hero Impulse ownership experience
First. Im just at 1000kms on ODO as i said. Second squeaking isnt normal. The squeaking you are referring to is due to dirt and its more of a 'khassss' sound than a squeak. Thats rectified by washing amd cleaning. My bike's disc pads are squeaking due to low oil level and thus pressure in the brake hose. I pressed the front brake lever for almost 30seconds and it went loose completely. Further releasing and grabbing it a couple of times retains back the pressure which again falls down pressing for a prolonged time. It requires oil top up. Its below min mark "left as such by the SVC".Originally posted by Divyanshp150 View PostDisc squeaking is very common bro.

The squeaking noise is also due to dirt hence I said that too.
If its anything I said that offended then I won't say so
