There was a recent tv ad where a dj jumps a hero impulsae from a ramp to a stage, notice the fork warps or then comes backto its original position, I think the issue here is thin forks and the cone set design, I dont see a fit anytime soon
Guys try to source longer forkes and matching cone sets what else can you do,
Company has a design flaw and still continues unrectified...sad

True, I also felt the same when I saw that ad. Its a design flaw, I complained initially couple of times and the did some adjustments to the cone set and the noise would reduce a but only for a day, its back to Khat sound. We just have to accept it a and live with it.
Its crime to ride a car alone, so I ride bike :).

I had a similar khat khat sound from the bike. But the culprit is the disc brake assembly where something in the static pad was loose and the sound from the disc brake assembly travels up the fork to the meter unit. I have mentioned this in my earlier post too somewhere In this thread. Please go and get the disc Assembly opened and sorted. The sound will go. It's not the cone set or meter assembly And most Of the service centres or mechanics don't know about this and are ignorant. It's a Honda bike primarily. Cone set cannot be so weak on an Offroad oriented bike.

I looked up your previous post and found this:

Regarding the Khat khat sound. it actually comes from the calliper piston unit which travels up to the handle bar. tell your mechie to open the unit and check for the stationary brake pad if it is loose. or so. The khat khat sound got solved in my bike. I have earlier tried all cone set, handle tightening etc. but the culprit is actually the front brake assembly.
I'd like to try fix this myself rather than attempt yet another fix by the nincompoop mechs. Could you please expand on this, possibly with a picture or two? This noise takes away from the pleasure of a ride on my Impulse.

Replaced Carb Vaccum Piston earlier... Was Ok.. But now, since a couple of days.. The issue is back.. Wont REV fast as it used to....
Any idea guys? How to resolve this??? Please Help......!!!! Will replacing the carburetor fix this??

A doubt : Is this because of dust getting inside through the air filter?? (Stock filter was replaced with a Cosworth Conical type)

What will be the cost for a new Carburetor?

                    Thanks in advance

Dude get rid of that filter:banghead:
Did you upjet properly with that filter?
Why you want to kill your bike?
Can be due to dust also can be because the diaphragm might be getting damaged due to a 'scar' on the carb inner wall. That will keep popping a hole on th3 diaphragm.
Also, it might be a good idea to get rid of that filter, and run a new vacuum piston for the carb, later I you face the same issue a carb swap is inevitable.

Rubber diaphragm is in good condition... But the piston doesn't move up freely... Throttle response is very slow...:sly::sly::thumbdown: Yep... Planning on removing the filter and replace the stock...

And, what is the cost of a whole new carburetor??

                          Upwards of 1500 rs
Do you see scrach marks on the piston? Check the inner walls of the csrb body for scratches, after that replace the long ass spring that pushes it upwards if its bent anywhere also, if that needle on the diaphrsm moves a little then its toast throw it away.
get a new carb with stock filter.

When I replaced mine a few months back, the whole carb assembly cost 5k. (4990/- to be exact.)
I had the same issue as you had, tried everything I could, finally the carb replacement fixed the issue.

I think well under 3 grand at the most ! 5k for a carb is too steep!
Is that really the price? ! Go to the hero extreme thread and inquire plz.
