any one who wants to buy a new impulse:
1, you will get a 2012 manufactured impulse only
2, best time to bargain as it has gone through two years... a huge period
3, go to insurance office and check the insurance value of a 2 year old bike..they will give you the exact value
3,depreciation of a two yer old bike has to be considered and you can pass this information to
impulse dealer before you confirm the deal...bargain as much as you can
4,never take a bike which has gone through test rides for customers...
5,keeping a bike with a dealer for two years ....two major things have to be noted
1,its engine oil may have gone frozen and and come under the bottom of the engine
      2,battery might have gone
most normal mechanics in the show rooms do not take this oil issue seriously and they just start the engine with out knowing this....the result..... engine trouble and valve complaints for a new bike. if the bike is filled with old oil...force them to remove the old one and fill the new engine oil..check the battery and then only start the engine

[QUOTE=sreejith kp;1049607]Help me out please...after 5 or 8 kms of city ride my bike starts to get tight...like engine heat, switching between gears get hard..when throttled bik shows a lag..right now I have done 9k kms...so should I check something? Is it something regarding clutch plate?? In normal city rides I switch gears up in 4k rpm..this issue is not there when going for long rides like when I switch gears up in 6k rpm..

1, check the air filter..do not clean it just replace it
2,check is there any block in carburetor and just clean it
3,check all the small pipes in connection with carburetor and air filter and find out is there any air block inside these pipes
4,if the problem continues, check the quality of the fuel,,,alternate petrol stations for quality fueling and find which petrol station is good for your bike
5,check the small pipe connecting from petrol tank to carburetor and clean the tank as well check inside the petrol knob lock too
6, u can see one more big pipe connected to the bottom of the petrol tank to get air flow for petrol, if this pipe is blocked with dirt in the bottom your bike will have no power at all gears and feel that lag too
7,top up engine oil at every 3000 km and check engine oil level at every 1000 km as hero impulse consumes more oil than other bikes

        thanks ..have a great ride

Please tell me where (showroom?) and for how much did you get these duke handguards? Also tell us about the fitting so that it can be diy-ed.
          Thanks.

To me it sounds like a problem with your engine oil. Have it checked/ topped up/ changed. And also the carb.
I recently had a problem with abnormally high idling at around 3k. I changed the clutch plates but that didn't solve the problem. After cleaning the carb twice that problem ceased.

Till now have replaced my bike chassis under warranty due to rusting. My fuel tank will also be replaced soon for rusting inside the tank. That is a lot of rust too soon, especially for a dry place like Pune. My new chassis is showing slight rusting in some areas.. questionable quality

Planning to do an exhaust mod removing the catcon and enlarging the baffle. Has anyone done it?

I am struggling with the fitting of the handguard. Anyway for fitting it you should get a handlebar, fz's bar end cap. First get the bar end cap. Then when you go for geting the handlebar just see whether that fz's cap fits. I have got a handlebar in which that cap doesnt fit..I got the guards from kochi. Vytilla ktm showroom. Cost s less than 700rs

                      Hi friends,
I am getting around 40 kmpl since i bought my bike. Sometimes it reaches to 45 max. During my bike's last service i told mahim ASC guys to tune it for little better millage. Just after the service i filled 100Rs fuel from mahim bunk near ASC. it was already on reserve. This time i rode 72 kms on 100 Rs fuel which means around 60 kmpl. But again after coming on reserve i refilled 100 Rs fuel from dindoshi bunk. I always ride between 50 to 60 kmph with no sudden throttle and breaks. This time it lasted only for 49 kms which means again approx 40 kmpl. :banghead:
People clame at least 45 to 50 kmpl on impulse if not more. Kindly help and advice me to improve on millage. And what is the practical figure that one can get on this bike?

Hey, Every time I do 100Rs filling only for different reason though (petrol theft ). I get between 50-60 only for that. So doing the math it comes somewhere closer to 40-43 kmpl. I think you cannot expect more than this from the impulse. But, I do ride little aggressively in low end.
Its crime to ride a car alone, so I ride bike :).
