Even last year many were getting till 72 onroad, so u can insists on more discount, tell them that there is no resale value for this bike and spare parts are also very rare to get it (if he says there is no problem with spares and easily available, then ask him for its chain & sprokets and spare rear rim, if he still shows u stock of same, u can purchase that also and keep it safe at home, u will need it sometime in future and may not be readily available in market) and tell him friends have bought it last year for same price and try to negotiate for 65k. Try it, there's no problem in it. Tell them that this bike is very less wanted and they may not be able to sell it for another year.
Hi, the Owner of the Hero Showroom of Nerul, Navi Mumbai put me on conference with their Spares Warehouse incharge and confirmed that Chain Sprocket and Spare Rear Rim are in stock and available for Impulse. I further negotiated and he agreed to give me a discount with a final price of 68K which includes RTO Registration, Insurance + Extended Warranty (complete 5 years service warranty). Do you think this is Lucrative now? I need to pay the cheque tomorrow and hopefully will get the Delivery of the Bike on 27th Feb, Thursday as it is Maha-Shivratri (considering it as a lucky day).

Please do let me know if this sounds good.

i thought they would accept for 65k, anyways if u r satisfied with it, go ahead.

Remember, you are a king till only until you make the payment, after the settlement, the situation is quite opposite. So if u need anything, make sure u get it before payment.

Get that 5 year warranty thing in written. Usually they ill try to dodge that by saying its all inclusive but try to get it mentioned may be in invoice.

      All the best and Congrats

Thanks buddy! By any chance do you know how much it costs if we go and buy the Chain Sprocket & Spare Rear Rim of Impulse from the ASC? I would certainly get that written and stamped in the invoice or the User Manual by the Deal - Extended Warranty.

68k is still a good deal. Get the stock hand guards, aftermarkets aren't as good as stock. Ask for a Teflon coating for free.

i wonder after all that publicity which hero has done and still doing for impulse why people know nothing about this bike. almost every time i go out people ask me about my bike on signals and markets. even today two guys asked me about it. question like how is comfort, mileage, cc etc. this evening one middle aged guy came to me and he told me that he left biking long back after his uncle died in a road accident but he could not resist to ask about my bike so he came and talked to me for 15 minutes. he told me about his old days, his bikes and his love for motorbiking.
hmmm, i feel good that i dont own a pulser or fz.

I know and feeling happy about the entire deal here. In between, payment will be done tomorrow i.e. 68K this will include zero debt insurance + RTO Registration. No freebies neither any free Teflon Coating for me though and I am fine with it. By the way, I am going to get the Delivery of the Bike in next week after completing the RTO Registration process via the Dealer. The color of my Impulse is Tar Black.

I did check on the price of Chain Sprocket - 2300 Rs.

I will come to know about the price and availability of Stock Hand Guards only tomorrow afternoon. Will keep you all posted. A piece of Advice for People who stay in Navi Mumbai. congrats dude and welcome to an elite group.

Before handing over the cash, do a review of all the deals u have made with the manager and make sure he understood clearly. If u hurry the payment then they will play game on u.

I too have a black impulse

                  Happy riding

Congrats Bro. As @balvo pointed out the impulse brings out a lot of attention and thought about motorcycling from different people. There is always a conversation when someone sees it. I too truly don't understand why the bike was not so welcome, it makes huge sense in unpredictable road conditions of any city / town / hamlet in India. Anyway you will love the ride and also enjoy the uniqueness and road presence.

Please do write to Hero about Mr.Girish's attitude and behavior, unless and until someone complains these people will never change.

Also, plan for a proper riding gear, in case if you don't have them already. Apart from safety, it adds a top notch look to both rider and the steed.

The cosworth filter i installed was a used one, though only for 500 odd kms. It was just bought for testing purposes. Fuel efficiency showed a decline only on the day i was accelerating crazily, red lining on each gear. I got 46 kmpl and the next day i rode at 52 kmph speed and at 4k and 5k RPM. It returned the usual 49kmpl fe.
Worst part is you cannot use it in rains as it may cause water to enter in the carb and may stall the engine.
I used to do 104 kmph at 8k rpm exactly. With cosworth installed, i did 110 kmph at the same 8k rpm, not once, but multiple times.
If you are in mumbai and want to try the filter, let me know. Maybe we can meet up and you can try it on your impulse.

                          Hi Guys,

How's it all goin in here? It's been months I last logged in here. Been on couple of rides - Charminar, Hyderabad. Udaipur, Rajasthan. and several low distance rides.
Apart from this I have recently changed the job so I am not gonna get leaves for months to come, I have 2 ride plans pending so far with total kms of approx. 6500.
I hope I get a chance to complete atleast one ride by the end of this year.

I cannot imagine myself completing this kind of long journeys on any other bike. I rode from Udaipur, 730Kms in 13 hours with 2 hours break...man I had no back issues or any hiccups with bike! I wish Hero can only train their service center staff to handle this bike better.

Share ur thoughts buddies...see u around!

(Thanks @a4amish for "pinging" me back here)

                            Hello fellow impulse riders,

I have been a silent reader on the topics for some time and this is kind of my first post on this forum. I am from chennai and ride a blue impulse of 2 years age(she grew old with me) and rode 25000 kms on her. She is sturdy as a horse and nothing stops her on the road.[Background somewhere playing "I am a cowboy on a steel horse i ride" ]. The riding stance is great and its super ultra flickable in city traffic. Cool thing about the bike is the overtaking mostly happens at the speed breakers and potholes, also in the straight lines if you are ready to rev hard at lower gears.

I have changed the following things on my bike

                            Front, rear sprockets, chain
                            Spark plug
                            Break shoes
                            Air filter element
Front oil seal and fork oil
                            Break pads

All are genuine hero parts courtesy southern motors medavakkam.

I have used hero sc mineral oil, shell semi synthetic oil, shell advanced synthetic oil 4t 10w40 grade . With FS, the engine runs butter smooth . It is running new as the day i bought it.

So far i am satisfied with my bike, but on the highways there is a desperate search for the sixth gear[really cant help it]. But in the city the stock performance is more than enough. Looking forward for some really long rides and there are lot of ideas in my head.

I can see few members have modified their bikes with big bore kits both 165cc and 180cc from joel. I am still a noob biker and not very much knowledgeable on the modifications and their long term effects on the bike.

Can you guys please post the long term review after the modifications? Is it advisable to go for such mods ? Please shed some light on this area.
