    Hello All,

I feel that the headlamp power is not up to the mark. I literally struggled in highways during night driving and I come to know that the focus can be adjusted just beneath the headlamp by adjusting the screw. Did anyone changed the default headlamp ? If so which one you have installed and how's the power of beam.

Also rear brake is not good is it fine if we go with the disc break, any suggestions ?

    Cheers

Yeah Shadowz, would definitely POUR IN. By the way which engine oil is best one other than the factory recommended. What you using for your beast ?

I agree about the headlamp, i am city rider so i have not experienced any issue so far but will try to fix the focus when required. I keep ur suggestion about "focus screw" in mind.
Also the breaks are working good for me, maybe u r riding it way too fast that's why experiencing issues. Do not ride ur new bike above 50 for 1st 1000Kms.

A suggestion: Please go slow on customization of ur bike buddy, it will void the warranty. Dont alter anything on engine, cabling, electronic and braking front or kiss ur bike's
        5 year warranty good bye.

I would suggest going with company suggested mineral oil at least till run in period is completed. After that, your choice. I am currently running with shell ultra advanced fully synthetic 10w40 oil. Very slick, and gear shifting is butter smooth.

            Hi Shadowz...

I would suggest you to stick to the recomended grade. 10w 40 oil will not do any good to your bike engine. Recomended grade is 10w 30. Go for fully synth or semi or mineral oil of any good brand meeting required recommendations but stick to the correct grade.

Thanks burnoutdee... I will ask for a new spark plug in next service. Are Bosch or Mico available in hero service centers? Were you also facing the same problem of extra push and effort of engine to run after 4500 or 5000 rpm. Will changing spark plug will solve this issue too?

Hearty congrats for ur new Impulse, I got one a month back, a black one. It really is an amazing bike.

It is not good for bike to race it above 50kmph at least for first1000kms. I did 700kms yet i have not raced it above 50.

Today is the first service of my Impulse n they have already screwed it. It developed starting problem, they cleant spark plug, filter, every wire joint, CDI n carburator too but still no help.

I was skeptical abt service center guys' experience with this bike and they did disappoint me big big time.

Im still waiting for them to fix it. I hope this does not screw the mileage of my bike.(i got 61kmpl on first fill)

See the image, my bike came in only for service.

Hey I also got same problem after 1st service. Self start was never a feather touch and one evening every thing on my digital console went blank on highway. No life in my bike. I had to drag my bike to a local machanic. They kept my battery loose in 1st service. Morover they charged me for engine oil but did not change it. I check engine oil in my bike almost every week and knew it from the level which was littel above the max mark and remained same after the service. I lodged a written complaint after second service on hero moto corp site. During my second service they did not even clean chain. Did not wash bike coz I could see mud on engine and chain. Yes fortunately they changed oil this time which I saw was littel below max mark. Actually service guys dont bother and care for your bike. I feel impulse is hero's ignored child though its the first launch after divorce from honda. After second service I am not satisfied with the performance of my bike. And I never got a millage more then 40- 45 kmpl. I have covered 2390 kms till now on my bike.

And negligence by hero service guys hurts me more because I love my green impulsive friend very much.

I know what u mean bro. That's y I was standing in workshop when that guy was working om my bike. Never for a moment I moved away from there.

Now I have to just check what's the result of this service whether they screwed up my bike's mileage. If that's the case then they r going to regret that they undertook my bike for servicing.

No these are 3Rd party plugs n u won't find it at hero center. I never experienced any issue with RPMs. But I believe it shud help...don't wait for service period go buy a spark plug.

But then putting a 3rd party spark pluk may void my warranty. Kindly tell me if you have changed spark plug and your bike still under warranty...!!!

Burnoutdee: I am not touching the engine or electronic items. Just felt that rear brakes aren't that much effective as compared to other vehicle, May be would upgrade it later. And I dont think this would void warranty in-terms.

Also is there a way where we can add the power kill switch for impulse, have any one tried. First of all is it possible to add one separately.

                          Guys,

I never got a response on this query "Where do I get knuckle/hand Guard and Engine Guard for Hero Impulse" in Bangalore or any other city (where I would arrange to get this couriered if it is out of Bangalore). Does anyone installed either of this accessory ?

I remember one guy have (bharath316) mentioned in the same thread of page:100, where he has added it. But no reply from him too. If any of you guys aware of this, please share the details.

                          Cheers

                          Have a wonderful weekend !!

Only accessory available for Impulse is Knuckle Guard which I got free with bike. I have not seen or heard about any other accessory for it. I checked online too but
found nothing suitable for Impulse. I leave it upto u buddy to check in shops in ur vicinity and decide for urself whether u would like to go for any of the stray accessory
for ur beauty. Do share if u come across something interesting.

                            Guys,

The other day I came across a video on youtube "Adam Riemann - The Himalayan Hero, 4500Kms on Hero Impulse". Where he and his father rode 2 stock Impulses through Himalayan passes. That video is 7 mins long on youtube but full length video is available only with the magazine - Dirt Action Issue #162. Can anybody tell how we can get it?!

Thanks for informing abt the same.

Yes, I'll confirm whether it is meant for Impulse.

Yesterday I took my bike to Tungareshwar, Vasai. It is out n out rugged path to ride on - full of streams, dirt, muck, rocks, pebbles n to top it all it's a curvy hill climb.

Bike performed amazingly well, it could not have performed better. But there was a major hiccup...It stalled couple of times, I thought it was overheated but the engine was still cool, starter sounded normal yet the bike wont start, plug was dry, cleant it still no go. Fiddled with RPM, and it started again. This happened thrice during that trip but when I started bike with choke ON, then it would start with no issue and without choke it was struggling.
(It's definitely not an issue with bike but the service center guy who screwed the settings the other day when he opened up the carb n other components for no reason.)

What could be the issue? Does these symptoms show any sign of trouble with RPM settings or Spark plug not functioning well?

This issue has seriously dampened my confidence of taking it into wild again.

P.S. With RPM between 1100 to 1200 it works superbly on roads/highways.

                                Regards,
