  • my left knuckle guard came off soon after i purchased the bike
turned out the right-hand one had a correct bolt installed while the left one had an improper length one, hence whenever clutch was applied the lever unscrewed the bolt itself.
    that was 15th jan.
it is april now, and to this day they do not have ONE CORRECT BOLT for the knuckle guard.

i sometimes feel tense, you know..
the last vehicle we purchased was a kinetic zoom, after their divorce from honda, and it's no secret what happened to the company. our experience with them was a disaster and the ZX Zoom was indeed a not so great product.

12 years later, I have purchased a product from yet another of honda's estranged wives.. *fingers crossed*
    let's see..

The handle bar was not available anywhere , got a rally handle bar fixed .

            • In the "no roads" section , around 45-50ish kmph. In the open gravel roads section 70-75ish kmph. Where u see me going fast thats because the video playback is at 1.5 x . so 50 becomes 75 , 70 becomes 105kmph .

But yes , fastest of the lot. catching up with bikes having 10bhp more is not easy , not even on gravel roads. full credit goes to on/off road tyres and the way bike handles

10bhp more? That would be like 23bhp. Now which bike that was?

Funny, Even I was doing the same speeds (a bit faster maybe), having an on-off road rear tire did help in that, but the front is still street and was suffering from massive loss of grip. But Impulse was doing quite well considering it was easily going faster than the Stock ZMAs and ZMRs of the group.

I thought there was only 1 Fastest Indian.. Looks Like I need to watch the video properly now .

                      5 min later:

So I did the watch the video properly. The only time you caught up was when we were riding in the shade. I couldn't see properly at those times (Tinted Visor ) and had to slow down .

                          • i just did gradual acceleration + gradual stopping till the first 500Km, not taking rpm beyond 5-5.5k in any gear. speeds of ~60
after first service, before i could say anything, the SVC supervisor took a test ride and took it to 90-95kmph with rapid revving, before he signed the review sheet

anyways i still ride pretty much civilized change gears at 5-5.5k, at max 6.5k
top speed i have ever touched is 90

                            i changed oil again yesterday
it was first changed at 600Km (first service)

i replaced it with MAK 10w30 HH oil, at the petrol pump. they do it very well with a suction machine, not 1 drop of old oil was left inside.. odo reading is 2500Km (500 Km left for 2nd service)

gears shifting like butter now.. feathertouch

he also showed me the new MAK NXT oil, which has no rating or grade written on it i checked the website on my phone, says it's a multigrade which works in all temperatures and exceeds JASO MA2 and API standards bla bla. sounded too good to be true so stuck with 10w30 (200/-)
                            NXT costs 310 bucks.

how can we specify a running in period ? the manual is very clear about it 500 kms. after that you can do what you want. you are free to do any further running in but it may serve no purpose. so just go after 500.

in any case any new engine is capable of going about 50,000/- kms before you need to think.

and to be on the lighter side the world will run out of petrol by that time.

                              • I have revved the bike to redline one or twice before 500. I have touched 100 many times now. the bike pulls cleanly from 80 kmph to 100. to go above 100 , i had to crouch but the bike effortlessly reached 110 also.

in off roads , i easily touch 70ish and enjoy the balance and control at those speeds
