  • I found the headlights to be pretty weak and the high beam searches for trees and aeroplanes. will try adjusting the highbeam with the philips screw at the front .

Anyone tried putting an HID yet?

Did some off roading on a sharp S gravel curve , once i throw my leg on the inside , shift weight forward and give it gas , the rear wheel spins and comes in line and then I can come out of a turn at a good speed. love the feeling of slides . now I need some gear for off roading

I intend to do running in at 5k rpm till 500-600 kms . then 1k rev up for every 500 kms .
      So Niks...finally an impulsive buy

I knew that your heart was set out on the impulse ever since we talked about it at the cafe'.

Good buy...can we expect any "raid" participation from you?

              • Hey niks, congratulations on the buy, you will surely enjoy the bike to the max cos you will find so many offroading tracks near pune. Everytime I visit pune, I am always in time crunch, but one day I will surely take some time off to come and grab some grub at your cafe.

the screw wont do any justice to the headlight. for me i had to ask the hero motors dealer to lower the headlamp assembly and now its some what okay.

Has any one tried using premium fuel rather than standard unleaded one? I found the bike's performance better with speed petrol. Anyone else with similar experience?
yes i have been using power from day one, they say it keeps the engine life longer and clean...
and my frnds say it adds up the mileage in ur bike....

                        1. You are right about the headlight and high beam both and you can adjust easily by the screw at the front.

                        2. I wish to try HID but I am novice. Also I doubt if Impulse 4 amp battery will be having enough juice for the DC setup. Due to restriction of the area, we can not go for any bigger battery.

I am not agree with you. I myself have adjusted the beam height by the screw adjustment and it work just fine.

Welcome to the ownership of a Hero product other than Splendor/Passion.

Anyone here has checked the availability of the rims of Impulse? I checked at, probably the biggest Hero dealer in Pune, and I got the answer that I was expecting - not in stock, can order, will take around 3 weeks. Got the same answer when I went asking for ZMA's main jet, an year back, and guess what, their 3 week's hasn't got over yet.

Thats the most frustrating part of owning a hero product...
I had to wait for 3 months for air filter and finally i got the K&N
similar was for the oil filter... 2 months!!

for any new hero bike, this is a problem.. the irony is that even if you order (from kundan motors), they will first say that the order will be booked in 2 weeks, then they say that the order is booked so the part will arrive in 2 weeks, and finally they say "company se maal nahi aa raha hai, hum kya karein".

infact, a duplicate lever will cost half of that hero charges and will be available ex-stock... dont know about the handle bars though...

my bike fell in water the main loss was a damaged speedo. took one month for a replacement and Rs 4000/- cost of unit.

spares may be hard to come by for the impulse in the short term.
