great ride you can do a write up here. congratulations on the splendid ride and all the best. great to know that the impulse did well.Originally posted by niks_devil666 View PostThe bike behaved brilliantly in the leh terrain. I just got the wire in the carb (main jet) mod done from a local mech. costed 100/- to put and 20/- to remove. it did not feel underpowered after that and was climbing the passes comfortably. it cud actually be one of the fastest indian bike in that terrain all thanks to the grippy tyres , awesome suspension and great steering-seat-pegs geometry. All this with brilliant comfort throughout the 3200 km ride.
on the highways i was doing 90-100 mostly , which was fast enuf for our roads.
there was no breakage of any panels or losening on worst off road conditions too. the entire bike held up really nice at the end of the ride.Mountain biking on impulse with my wife and our bike goes down in water

A wire is passed through the main jet, to make it's orifice smaller. This causes a reduced amount of petrol to be sucked up and into the cylinder.
This is to compensate for the reduced density/pressure of air at high elevation areas - carburetion is typically calculated/calibrated at standard air temperature, pressure and density settings at mean sea level and the high elevation above mean sea level causes a higher amount of fuel than optimum to get mixed with the (reduced) available air.

the suspension and frame layout makes it very confidence inspiring to ride, but the engine and gearbox are very mediocre for this kind of application.Originally posted by niks_devil666 View PostI see ravi in the pics...how did u find impulse for offroading?
and I am not even talking about engine power output, closer spaced ratios between 1-2-3 would have made it so much more fun to ride on dirt...currently the meat of the power comes between 6000 to 8000rpm, not exactly entertaining on loose ground.
the footpegs could have been placed a little further back and higher, its currently very commuter-ish. I am considering making changes to seat position to compensate for this.
Brakes work well on the dirt, but there is plenty of scope for on road braking improvement (considering that is where we ride at least 75% of the time)
but at this price points, its fairly good value for money, and an excellent commuter.
If no one else comes up with a sportier and fun motorcycle in this space, then we will work at making it sporty.

hello there i've booked a canyon orange impulse which costs rs 77000 here in west bengal.. i want to know can a pillion mainly ladies and boys can seat crossing their leg or they have only one option to be seated one sided as the EXHAUST is one the pillion side? i'm in complete love with this bike after seeing that our city mostly boasts of OFF RODES so it will be very much ideal bike to have fun and do SPEED BREAKER KILLING.. I'm open for advice from you....Originally posted by niks_devil666 View PostThe bike behaved brilliantly in the leh terrain.
