  • Cherry,
For you, me n few others here do not bother about practicality. But there are lot of ppl who buy a bike mainly as a commuter.

Anyway, am waiting for Trooper to find out abt group discount (if any). ETA is end of day today. U all set to buy the bike today??

Big bore kits is provided by Joel 160cc and 180cc. According to him 160cc will be more reliable and he claims that we don't even have to rejet the carb. We can use a K&N RC-1060 filter plus a FFE and upject the mainjet from 105 to 110 and we are good to go.

On a different note Big bore kits are available for the CRF 150 in the US of A but the price around $500 ( 195cc ) CRF150F'06-09 - BBR 195cc Big Bore Kit: CRFs Only - Your Source For Honda CRF Parts, Accessories and Information...
In the stock condition the bike will hit 90kph easily and comfortably and with 160cc + K&N + FFE + Upjet we should be able to hit/cruise at 100kph.

I will tell you the cost of 160cc Joel's kit in the beach. Okay when are we going to the showroom. ??

the bike is really a hoot to ride if you wish to do offroading a lot. it makes small jumps and bad roads look easy. being light weight , it is easy to do off road trails too. yesterday we went to a place near pune (kusegaon) and were doing lots of offroad and jumps.

on the highways it does touch 80-85 easily. after that u need to really push the bike. I wud recommend u run the bike stock for atleast 5k kms before planning to boost the power.

I don't believe in running the bike as stock. No offence. If you know what you are doing then there should not be any problem.

        • hey guys, i've got a prob...i got my impulse 3 days ago...
initially it wouldnt take self and the engine would shut down whenever i left the throttle. i thought it must be a battery issue, and will resolve by itself after riding for some time, when the battery gets charged. i have driven almost 100 km now. bike takes self start easily, but the engine shuts down even now when i leave the throttle. should i go to the service station?? or it might be a battery issue and resolve by itself???? help please...

                • There is an idle rpm screw below ur tank. it sets the idle RPM of the engine. i should be around 1200-1500 RPM. when u start the bike after a short ride and close the throttle do check ur RPM,if its below 1500,adjust the screw slightly to make it so. or if u find it dificult,go to a outside mech,he will do it for 10 rs only .

                  • Try adjusting the idling screw/air fuel mixture screw in the carb. Issue cud be with the spark plug also.

thanx everybody. i found the idle rpm in the owner's manual and adjusted it upto 1500. now the bike runs just fine.
                      thanx again.
