Re: Hero Impulse ownership experience
Hey many thanks for your quick reply but CBZ xtreme sports clutch cable is not fit for Impulse( a bit short), could not get time today to check for achiever( but as per mechanic both achiever and xtreme cables will be same), someone on this thread mentioned dazzeler- but that bike is also out of production now.
..
Looking for any help from you guys-tried 2-3 hero dealers also but no clutch cables with them ..Last edited by xfiasco; 10-16-2017, 08:27 PM.

Re: Hero Impulse ownership experience
hey bro can you share some details of where in siliguri did you carry out the mods? i am from darjeeling and i also want to put a karizma engine in my impulse. where to find a karizma engine in siliguri.what is the overall cost of the modification.if possible can u please give me your number so we can get in touch.Originally posted by Ming Bhutia View PostFinally my 225 cc Red Impulse is up and running. Bought a Karizma engine some 5 months back for Rs. 4,000/- in a box. Few parts were missing and oh boy Karizma parts are also hard to find in the Hero spares shop here in Siliguri. The engine grunts and feels better than the stock 150 engine. Its done about 600 kms now and I love the surge in power. Took it for a 350 kms ride yesterday. Highway cruising was done at 5,000 rpm, 5th gear, 75 kmph. Didn't want to push it yet. My black Impulse has a front 15 T sproket from Hero Xtreme and the top speed is only 95 kmph (pillion and luggage). This Red bike has 17 T on it so it should go faster.
I have a problem with the 225 cc engine. It gives a shrill noise while decelerating. I have heard from mechanics that the clutch gives that noise if its a bad after market product. Is it the only place from where that sound can come? Please help.

Not sure if you're still looking. Since you feel Dazzler's cable could fit, try finding the cable of Honda Trigger. They both share a LOT of parts.
Or you could call up the nearby service stations (or visit) and ask them which of the bike's cable fits yours.
Cheers

Well, going by the buzz and anticipation around this particular bike at least, hopefully Hero gets its act together and rolls this out to the market soon.
Hope!
Cheers

Re: Hero Impulse ownership experience
Well... while searching an impulse for myself I came to know from someone that there are still some new ( old stock ) impulse in small Maharastra location...try yamatmal for that..or akola..spares you will get ..it should not be a problem, but 40k is too high( dont pay more than 28-30k)..these are my observation/opinion..let others more experienced than me to contribute here..

Re: Hero Impulse ownership experience
You can get good karizma at 30 -35k. Buying impulse is a bad choice in my books. Spending 5k more on karizma should be the best investment.Originally posted by xfiasco View PostWell... while searching an impulse for myself I came to know from someone that there are still some new ( old stock ) impulse in small Maharastra location...try yamatmal for that..or akola..spares you will get ..it should not be a problem, but 40k is too high( dont pay more than 28-30k)..these are my observation/opinion..let others more experienced than me to contribute here..

The price can be bargained down I guess cause the other day I valuated my bike which has everything working and was quoted ₹35k so you should bargain hard and get it for much lower...
And yes spares are difficult to get the only saving grace being that most engine parts are shared with the Honda 150cc
mill so we can get them somewhat easily (as I presume no idea about reality
)

Re: Hero Impulse ownership experience
Kris. You have made your thoughts clear on the fact that you don't think someone should buy the Impulse, but get the Karizma instead. There is no point repeating the same thing over and over again. Especially when the poster has already read your original post and is still going ahead with the purchase of the Impulse.Originally posted by kris123456 View PostYou can get good karizma at 30 -35k. You don't like the Impulse. We get it. Now move on
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

I have nothing to lose if OP buys something else.
Any way I won’t cross check or validate or give an appraisal based on that.
I don’t want my friends to suffer down the line for the choices they make, so gave a rational suggestion. If at least I could suggest a good choice, they could think wisely and take a decision on the same.
Often there are times in life where we believe we have no other Choice. I’m just giving a mere suggestion to highlight better available Choices. Let the OP decide what he wants.

Re: Hero Impulse ownership experience
yes true, while I myself got a used one recently, my mechanic told that these bikes are already registered on someones name ( from dealer) and then they will sell you as second..if you are die hard fan and want at any cost..
..honestly in local market I met so many people who have not even heard about the model Impulse..
