    DEAR BRO,

SO SORRY FOR THE LATE REPLY

MAXIMUM MILEAGE YOU WILL GET FROM THIS BIKE WILL BE 35-37 , BUT AT THIS SETTING YOU WILL NOT ENJOY RIDING IT AS THE ACCELARATION WILL BE DRASTICALLY REDUCED. ( THIS IS MY CURRENT SETTING , GOING TO CHANGE IT SOON), FOR A BALANCED SETTING BETWEEN MILEAGE AND ACCELARATION YOU WILL GET SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 30-32 KMPL.

YOU CAN CHANGE THIS SETTING BY AFR SCREW IN YOUR CARB.

At 700 kms the reserve tap stopped working and the head light stopped working and there was air filter blockage
At 3000kms the rear number plate light failed , the engine had misfiring problem after the radiator switched on , the mileage was 13 KMPL
At 5000 kms the misfiring issues was sorted and the reserve tap was replaced under warranty and the mileage was 15-16 KMPL.
With my limited knowledge of bike I suggested them to check the air filter for the mileage but they adamantly refused saying it'll run for 20000kms without any need for change .
I did the purchasing and servicing everything at popular Bajaj Bannerghatta road branch ,head office .

Last week I took my bike to auto assembly ( different branch of Bajaj) and they told me the air filter was clogged and needs to be changed . They changed and now I am getting 25 KMPL ( reserve to reserve )

is 25KMPL the max mileage I'll get out of this bike ?( Reserve to reserve check) or should I try a different method of checking for mileage ?

What are the different ways to check for mileage?

They are out of stock and the 2-3 mrf centres I contacted are barely interested in getting them on order. I don't know why, but they all seem least interested.

Now I am searching for alternatives. Also I am not looking for expensive tyres as my riding is mostly only confined to city and very occasional half day tours. But similar to zapper I am looking for some tires that has a mix of wet and dry grip.

    Thanks in advance.

My question is why it is happening at high speeds the bike shows no issue upto 80 and and this issue have recently surfaced have done some high speed delhi dehradun ride with constant 90+ speed with no fuss.
    Kms done 11000
    last service at 8500
    oil used motul 7100
will try cleaning air filter to see if this helps.

    Thanks
Looks like the infamous carb diaphragm slider issue. The slider is getting stuck. This happens to almost all NS carbs during their lifetime. Get you mechanic to check the slide mechanism at higher RPMs.

Change the slide if it is faulty. It is recommended throughout the forum that incase such issue occurs it is better if we change the entire carb assembly instead of the slider as the issue may resurface again and again.

My bike is wobbling. Looks like the rear wheel is causing the issue as I parked the bike on main stand and inspected. The wheel goes left and right which causes the bike to go left and right.
This does not occur always, only when I do urgent brake and release the wobble starts. Even pot holes cause this issue.
    Any idea? Please help.
A couple of things to note here. Start off with inspecting your rim for bends, and also your rear brake disc rotor for bends. The former will cause wobbling at high speeds to low speeds, and the latter will cause it wobble with you brake, especially. Also a faulty or bust rear wheel bearings will 100% cause wheel wobble, when loaded up and when ridden over undulations. Get all these checked. Keep your observations posted.

    Cheers!

Seals can't be repaired. Once, you find a leak, you have no choice than replacing the seal, and replacing both the seals when overhauling one fork is better, since one will have new oil and the other will have old oil. It can sometimes cause handling issues. I'd suggest you replace both the oil seals along with fresh fork oil. It's not compulsory, but helps in keeping fork oil uniformity.

    Cheers!

No Dood. I still didn't find time for that. I need to change it this week end at least. I will update here after changing the cable
Sorry for the delayed reply guys, was busy with some other stuffs. The clutch is now like butter smooth now after replacing the clutch cable alone. It costed me 140RS. No other issues with my NS for now. Enjoying my ride :-)

Car oils usually last for that long, but they are different quite a bit. Would suggest finishing off the free services at the earliest. Post which if you move to 7100 keep an eye on the level. If you move to a mineral or ss oil then stick to around 2-3k kms change intervals. Air filter and engine oil are the basic one shouldn't ignore or skimp on.

ODO is around 9250 with 2 service done and bike is 1.5 yrs old. 3rd service time is coming up soon. Mentioned this in the last servicing and the guy did some idle rpm change but that didn't help much. I've been using stock bajaj engine oil so far. I'm planning on upgrading to Motul 7100.

Any help will be much appreciated.
