Did you change the wires?? How's it doing now??

Hello All,
I didn't take my NS on the highway for a long time, Recently I have read on the forum that the 2017 NS have a common problem of Not going beyond 6K RPM.
So I decided to do a check on my bike as well. Surprisingly I found that the bike is struggling to cross 7K RPM. Till 6K RPM everything is fine But from 6K to 7K it takes too much time and will only cross 7K If i'm on down slopes.
Also it feels like the engine is crying post 6K RPM and feels like it is taking too much strain...... So some where I read that the clutch plates could be gone....
Did following observations to test the cause or issues related to clutch plates and engine.
1. Put the bike in center stand and cranked the engine in 1st gear and let the rear wheel rotate. Then pressed the rear brake, Bike shut's down immediately. This was to test the clutch plates. If clutch is worn out the bike should not turn off. Clutch test passed.
2. Put the bike in neutral and revved it till red line. This also passed. Heard if the problem is inside the engine. Then it should not go till red line in neutral.
The next thing I'm guessing is the Carburetor problem.
Can a clogged air filter be the culprit for this problem?
Any one has any knowledge on this???
Any one has found any solution for the 2017 NS?? so far...

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
i will printout the manual and get the work done.Originally posted by nnagap72 View PostI would recommend going by the service manual.
Also, when was the last time you changed cone set? front suspension overhaul? If never then I would recommend you do it. Do a brake bleed and brake fluid change.
Why are you replacing CDI? What do you mean by closed down? What are the symptoms?
About carb yes, if your mechanic is experience enough then you can get it cleaned. After the cleaning process do check the slide functionality working. It should work slide smoothly without stopping any where.
Bike has missing problem, CDI was to be blamed, i placed order for a new one but the service centre closed down.
my front tyre has very weird kind of wear, gone from one side, last week i showed bike to a pucture wallah and he said the front shocker has some alignment issues. so thanks , i will get cone replaced and the whole shocker thing checked.
yes, let's leave carb. my mechanic is just ok.

I would recommend going by the service manual.Originally posted by lnagr View PostHi, i have to go for 25k km service.
need your general views on what all i should do,
Llittle bike history.
- done ~25k kms
-need to replace front tyre, suggestions
-need to get sprocket changed, any idea on prices? also i am using motul 5100, no reason to change
- i will get it serviced outside as Bajaj ASS i dont trust
- do i need to get the air filter cleaned? everyone is so lazy when i ask to do so. i have to clean it myself.
-the CDi needs replacement but bajaj ass sucks, existing one closed down and new one has very lackluster attitude.
- carb cleaning? shall i go for it? in same forums i read not to mess with carb
-i had gotten rear shocker changed, it was leaking from start itself
Bike has no issue, i can cruise at 110 easily, top speed might have taken some hit but i am not getting younger so 110 is good enough for my weekend rides.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Hi Guys! Been a long time.
Recently i came across a engine oil leak problem while engine running from oil filter cap in my ns200 - very little though. ODO 4800+ KMS - 2nd service completed. Changed the oil recently before 700 kms(Motul 7100 10w50 FS).
So I inspected the oil filter cap & found abrasion inside the cap filter edges/grooves. I have attached the pics here - plz check & advise me the caution for the same if you guys came across the same problem. I am sure my bike never fell down so far even once & no accidents so far. Am kind of confused now to find out the caution of those abrasions.
Any how today i replaced the oil filter cap with new ones alongwith the 'O ring' & it seems the leakage is stopped now - will have to check morning though.
Awaiting your valuable replies...
Thanks in advance!

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
service was done @4600km, its been only 1600km only after service, sound is coming from whole engine bro, feels like racing bike . before this there was small tik tik noise now it is reduced,Originally posted by nnagap72 View PostCheck the engine oil. When was the last time it was changed? Check the oil color from the window. The service center recommended Bajaj DTSi oil is not that good for more than 2000 km in my experience.
Also check if there are any lose components which create noise. It is very likely that components become loose and create sound.
If loose components is not the case then try to pin point the exact location of noise. You may able to explain and recreate it to service center later.
I feel like the roughness is due to aged Bajaj oil.
