Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
I remember someone mentioning on this thread that it was due to a damaged carb slide/CDI/diaphragm.Originally posted by nnagap72 View PostHeyy Guys,
I have Pulsar 200 NS 2017 Model BS4. It wont go beyond ~6000 rpm in any gear. SVC checked Carb and Clutch plates, both are fine. Even cleaned tank. Still the issue is there.
Any idea?
I found few other people also facing these kind of issues in 2017 model.
Please help.
Thanks.Last edited by Shashank K R; 05-17-2019, 03:28 AM.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
HI, yes i got the wire changed from regular mechanic. no i never did any lubrication as i never thought it needs to be done. i did that for once my enfield because wire for it break easily. never thought pulsar wire will break .Originally posted by guptavis View PostHi,
Did you get the clutch wire changed now? Did you do any maintanance like lubrication of the clutch and accelerator wire till the time it broke.
Even i bought a 3M carb cleaner but heard that you shouldnt mess with the carb unless you have to, so have it lying unused too.
Showroom people areent ready to clean the air filter. Even when i asked them to replace it, they said the filter is alright and replacement is not needed.
How do you get it cleaned then?
dont mess with carb is a advice i have read over and over on these forum.
for Air filter i did it myself twice, showroom people are lazy and accessing the filter is too much time consuming.
i bought a allen keyset and one 10/12 number chabbi and opened the whole bike and cleaned the filter myself. it was barely dirty but for mental satification i did it anyways.
get it cleaned from a mechanic outside if Showroom people are not aggreing to do it, no use wasting time talking to them.
i replied to your Pm, let me know if you received it.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
The massetter isn't exactly non-commuterish. Try the online mrf store. If there is a physical store in your city you can book a slot online and get it installed. Avoid the zappers if you can. Too hard a compound and meant for a long life.Originally posted by Santosh Nair View PostHi Kany, I fixed fx1 for front & searched for masseter X and I think it would be a bit lot for me, given that I am more of a commuter than a tourer. Alternatively, I thought of going for zapper Q which is more commonly recommended maybe because of the affordable range. But they are out of stock on the same and are offering me Zapper S1.
Could you let me know whether you have any idea about difference between Q and S1 and whether or not I should go for the same?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,Originally posted by lnagr View PostWhile riding yesterday in Hills, the clutch wire of NS broke, bike has done 22k kms and is 4 year old. i wasnt expecting it to break though, have seen clutch and decompressor wires of enfield breaking , so this was a new experience.
Roadside mechanic fixed it with a jugad though, total cost 40rs INR
one question:- shall i go for carb cleaning? Bike has no issues but i have a carb cleaner bottle lying unsed so
i am also thinking to get the air filter cleaned as the Shimla road is so dusty and i was covered in dust by the time i returned. it is royal pain to get the Air filter cleaned though. Showroom people never do it.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
thanks bro , :-)Originally posted by lokeshc View PostI bought it in december last year and had the same doubt. It almost never turns on until you rev the sh*t out of the engine. This is a good thing as the radiator switching all the time like the KTMs is very annoying. To check if your radiator is in working condition, go for a 2/3 kms ride in the city where you rev the bike all the time. As in accelerate like you are valentino rossi and come to stop, put on the center stand, bike in neutral and then rev the engine for about 10 to 15 seconds. The radiator will kick in. But it will not make as much sound as the KTMs ( thank god )
This is just to check the radiator fan is working or not. Do not needlessly rev the engine as this may harm the engine as your bike is still new.
I love my NS

Good to know you are ok. Bike is indeed very robust, i've experienced it at several occasions. Balance is right, braking is good.Originally posted by samy_jk View PostInfact i was not directly involved in the accident. The fellow who was doing harsh driving in front me on honda activa did hit behind a car rapidly & i was doing 45kmh around 20 feet away behind him. He fell aside & his vehicle was just laid on my way. I did breaking but not harshly to avoid skidding as i knew I had very min stop distance to make. So i just thought of just trying to slow down as much as possible & was ready to brace myself for a fall as i was sure am going to run over his vehicle anyway.
But my bike just went through his vehicle after making a crash with my front tyre & i was still in the shape, no rattles or imbalancing & i just stopped as usual. Guys standing beside the road said they expected i would fall down.
I inspected my bike after the crash & i couldnt even find a crash mark anywhere, even in the tyre.
CYNICAL part - i wouldnt say i was cynical as i chose this bike for its robust look & finish. But knowing something & experiencing something is totally different right; you know what i mean...
Happy riding!

I have a doubt , when does radiator fan starts? i see its not turning on even after 15-16km continuous highway ride at below 75kmph ride.
is it an issue ? or it is normal?
