Anyhow, at night the OEM halogen is always there on the 390, and combined usage of LED + OEM halogen obviously gives better illumination then only stock, in any condition. If 6-7k is not a big deal, once can always give it shot, and am sure will not be dissapointed.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
white light may not penetrate much distance in rain/fog condition, but the LEDs work better then halogen at low-beam area in-terms of illumination (my personal experience), when the road is wet and during moderate rains. This could be cos the light does not have to travel much, or it could be that 98% of other vehicles have halogen (yellowish) light, and an odd white one tends to differentiate itself and stands out.. For eg, on my classic 500, i have a separate switch to control the LEDs. In rainy situation (or any situation), when i switch between just the halogen (philips Xtreme), and just the LEDs, the LEDs give better illumination. And bullet's headlight dome design combined with 55-60w Philips Xtreme halogen, powered by 14 amp battery, is well known for its illumination capabilities.Originally posted by abhijeet080808 View Post

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Took the D390 to Leh last week. It performed superbly though it was taxing on body and I had issues with luggage management. the reserve power is bliss on single lane highway overtaking and also it performed fantastically on ascents.
But the riding in high temperatures took toll on its engine head gasket. It got blown out, thereby resulting in leakage of engine oil and loss of power. It refused to go beyond 145-148 on plains after it. Pickup also suffered. Pathetic quality Bajaj/KTM.
Even the Avenger and Pulsars faired better.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Current rides-
Iron 883 (2015- ); Interceptor 650 (2019- )

Congrats buddy, I see that you used stock tyres for the trip? Was there any problem from the forks and the alloys?Originally posted by enfro View Post

Same here...went touring recently and on the way back the left crash guard bolt came off and started vibrating. Since they didnt have the bolt fixed it myself. Removed the crash guard..Originally posted by backlash4u View PostMy left crash guard bolt had come off last month. Like always my svc didnt have stock of that bolt. So they put some other screw. Yesterday I found that one missing too. My svc is crap... sorry for that word. But it was necessary.

And what do you mean riding in high temperature? Didnt you ride in one of the coldest places in India?
And did you carry extra fuel? I guess a tank range of 250kms isnt enough there.

And you seem to be proud for making others crash.Originally posted by riot View PostMy Duke 390 4k kms report:
1.) I have got used to the power now. But the change this bike has bought in me is huge. I can now ride any bike and nothing feels too fast or uncontrollable as it used to be in the past.
2.) Leaking head was fixed in 2nd service, head has started leaking again after just 1000kms of use. Will get it re-checked again in nxt service.
3.) Front brake noise fixed in 2nd service creeped back in after just a day of riding, will get it re-checked in next service.
4.) Engine has got smoother now, pulls cleanly even from low revs.
5.) This bike makes people go crazy. So far 1 guy on a R15 fell from flyover trying to race with me. 1 Car guy banged onto a divider and 1 Pulsar 200NS rider banged into a auto rickshaw! Will narrate these stories in detail some other time.
6.) I mostly ride with ABS off. However, around a week back there was stormy weather in Delhi with rains. ABS saved me twice on that day. Once when a Tree fell right in front of me and Secondly when a Cage driver cut right in front of me because of low visibility.
7.) Grip provided by Metzelers is just fantastic. Can rip like crazy even on wet roads. However, they can get scary if you try even slightest offroading.
8.) Heats up a LOT in traffic. However, cools down as soon as the roads open up. Not the best bike to ride to office in peak hours.
9.) Next upgrade can only be a superbike.
And did it mention it wheelies in 2nd gear without even trying
Overall, this bike is full of flaws. However, once you slot in the gear and let go off clutch it more than makes up for all the flaws.
 Be a responsible rider not a hooligan on road. Yeah the 390 is fast but dont forget there are faster bikes than that, the same can happen with you.
Though most of the riders on road are 'dumbtards' thinking they will beat a 390 on an RE.

As far as I know, it is for KTM power part security alarm and to connect KTM diagnostic tool.Originally posted by nelson_sanjoy View PostSilly Q : Whats the extra white connector just below our seat in the battery compartment?
I am confused by some saying its to connect the KTM power-part alarm ( which is 15A) and some others that its for Mobile charging (10A). Whats true?

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi guys,
Got the duke 390 ( black) last week from Dewan KTM in Uttam Nagar.
Was disappointed overall with the sales forces.
My suggestion is anyone planning to buy in Delhi should go the the showroom in Cannaught Place, even though the vehicle cost is 2500/- more than what is offered at Dewan Uttam Nagar.
Upgraded from a cbr250r and I am already happy with my decision.
Completed 250kms so far.
Safety First ( protective gear)speed next :P

Infact had a test ride today but was not impressed with the big duke of India.
Seating stance is good but overall didn't like the bike. May be being a test ride bike having run about 4k km it had been abused enough to have that feel good factor gone.
Having changed already what all you liking in it?

Bro .... I was doubtful... infact i did the test drive back in February and believe me the test drive vehicle was vibrating like anything and that too compared to cbr 250r which is very smooth.
So gave up the thought of buying back then.
But when I drove a friend of mine's bike, could really feel the difference.
Yes, there is a bit more vibration than cbr , but its a very different bike altogether.... its more fun. I didnt realise, but the vehicle wheelies off from stand still when pushed little hard.
the seat is a bit harder than the cbr, there is a very good feature of side stand on, the abs is really good and the tyres. It feels very safe even in rains when cornering.
The cbr with continental was scary, but once upgraded to pirelli sport demon, it was a confidence booster.
Overall, so far i am really happy with my decision.Safety First ( protective gear)speed next :P

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
I believe that is because of the whiter light as compared to halogens. Tell me one thing, while riding at 80+ kmph, do you feel that the lights help you better than stock? That would clear my doubts. I am deciding between these LEDs and plonking in a 100/90W bulb + relay in the existing setup.Originally posted by nasirkaka View Postwhite light may not penetrate much distance in rain/fog condition, but the LEDs work better then halogen at low-beam area in-terms of illumination (my personal experience), when the road is wet and during moderate rains. Congrats mate. I too felt that Deewan Bajaj did not value its customers as well as Bagga Link that was why I decided on CP.Originally posted by rajmadhawk View PostHi guys,

Maybe you could wait for the RC version. Although I doubt that the seating of RC would be softer than CBR.Originally posted by techfreak View PostI too have a Ceeber 250 and contemplating a change to 390.
